This is really Tsutsui's style. It feels like anime only viewers could just pick up the manga right after the anime, and come to the conclusion that everyone still has a chance, they are equal. But if that's really the case, then Nariyuki picking Rizu or Senpai next chapter would sit perfectly well with most readers, even with shipping preference. And oh, boy, that surely is not the case.

Tsutsui tries to suggest that Nariyuki doesn't have a preference even after 100+ chapters.

This aside, the five brides were clearly a 5toubun reference. Negi even retweeted his best buddy about the BokuBen anime airing.

I cannot exclude that for the younger readers who don't overanalyze every single chapter and cannot recite every single trope in existance with examples the race looks actually a lot closer than for us. I remember being way more naive in the past compared to now that I'm nearly 40 and I've read hundreds of manga.

Ibusuki's victory was decided on chapter 1, anything else would have heavily spoken against traditional first love manga stories. Here however the teacher came as a potential harem character much later into the story

Taishi is yet to convince me that Fumino isn't special. Especially after the 6 chapters arc. Unless someone gets at least a 4 chapters arc, that won't change for me. I still can't help it but get pissed off by the fact that her arc was followed by 1.5 chapter arcs for both Uruka and Rizu.

Strangely enough, even though Itsuki gets her share of special treatment from Negi, I don't seem to get bothered by it because of the focus being on the older three and complete lack of it in case of Yotsuba. The mystery elements are done better in gotoubun in my opinion so it's harder to single out Itsuki and she often feels like a diversion from the end game. I cannot say the same for Bokuben. At this point, no one brings about the hand holding in bokuben but almost everyone duscusses the bell kiss.

On the wedding dress:
Not gonna lie: my ranking of the wedding appearance is as below
1. Sensei (not being biased as a fan. It was bound to look good on her given her overall appearance and the fact that she is the second prettiest girl in the Bokuben universe.)
2. Rizu (hard pick between Rizu and Fumino for this spot but the wedding dress toned down on her height and boosted her assets I guess.)
3. Fumino (she looks cute with the bridal veil but lost out to Rizu's mature looks; the glasses actually helped the loliboobs as well.)
4. Uruka (those tanlines look kinda... But most importantly she's missing her angelic smile that I love the most about her. Maybe I am tad harsh on her because she is the sweetest girl in the manga.)
5. Senpai (that wink and the twin knots didn't go well with her. She is the only one looks like there to make it 5 brides.)

Somehow I wanted to see Sekijou in that panel. tfw the prettiest girl in the manga is not even in any sort of consideration.

Did I? While I do not remember exact moment I get to like her, but as general rule I don't fall for girls on first groping. Well after watching episode it was sum of different elements then any single thing, which carries up to this day (she and Mafuyu have most stuff going on compared to side heroines).
