Solid episode. We all knew Yukio was an exorcist, but him being a teacher already was a bit unexpected. Nice gun-fu.

His ears are not that noticeable when he's in human form. I'm a bit more bothered by the fact Rin isn't suspicious of Mephisto, whose ears are even more pointy than Akagi's nose. Dude's clearly not human. He even admitted he can do things other exorcists can not in this episode.

Funny how the academy is a cover up for the underground exorcist school. That academy town was awesome. I would have had the same reaction as Rin did while walking around. Mephisto as a dog was great. I'm starting to think he may be a demon himself.

So that's why Yukio wasn't talking to Rin. At least they worked it out and are on good terms again. He was bad ass with those guns. Funny at how Rin's own brother is his teacher. How were they able to get a whole dorm to themselves, i mean i know Mephisto worked it out, but like i wonder what the cover up story is behind it.

Lol, it's hard trying to believe he's human after searching for 'Mephistopheles', there's even a reason as to why he turns into a dog ^^

After seeing the subs I decided that overall the episode was still awesome, but the changed scenes still piss me off a little.

I have to say, I love the True Cross Academy neck-ties. And the Academy and Town is wonderful. Hopefully will see lots of both locations in the future.

Very powerful episode this week, which the score doing such a damn good job yet again. Sawano fans like myself have been saying it needs to work on a show with a bit more of an emotional content, and this is the one right here.

Gotta love the design of the school, even if it is totally over the top.

The design is awesome and the key system was quite smart; this way there's no chance an ordinary student might stumble upon the exorcist so they have no chance of being discovered. Plus the concept is new (at least for me) which is rare in shounen nowadays.

Good, solid episode - again, it's all in the execution is there's not much here we haven't seen before. I'm curious to find out more about the classmates - the punk with the stubble, the kid with the bunny, the girls who complete each others sentences.

I too find it odd than no one is saying anything about Rin's ears - they seem damn obvious to me. He needs to grow his hair out. And let me get this straight - Mephistopheles' phony name is Faust - that's how he's going to throw them off the scent?

That was a good episode. Even if the show isn't going the direction I'd like I guess i can't complain much if the result is this.

His ears aren't that strange, there are lots of humans with ears a bit pointy.

As for Mephisto...is he really hiding that he's a demon? i mean, if the exorcists don't realize it, even though they fight demons all the time, they are very very stupid XP. Which brings out an interesting question: if they know he's a demon, why let him be in the order?

Am I the only one having trouble getting into this show? I finally got around to watching the first three episodes today, and some of it just had me rolling my eyes. While I absolutely loved the action scenes, the storyline is soooooo generic. I mean come on, he even says word for word "I want to become stronger, so no one else is hurt because of me". How unoriginal is that? To manga readers: does the plot get better? Because right now the plot is just unbearably cliche.

like I said before, though it's my opinion, it gets decently interesting after chapter 10 (around there, plus minus) for me.

If by better you mean more original then no,it doesn't.You can't get more generic than this story.
Personnaly I'm an "execution is what matters" kinda guy and don't really care if something is "original" or not,and it is my belief that all the clichés in Ao no exorcist are really well executed,more so than in a lot of other shonen mangas I've read.So that's why I watch/read Ao no exorcist despite the complete genericness but I can understand why you'd drop it.

That line almost killed the episode for me. Yes this is very generic and I'm hoping it steps up somehow although I did find it funny that the little brother was already a teacher, I expected Rin to be better at exorcism and Yukio at normal academics and planning in general.
