And the uniforms are necessary because there is a limited number of teachers. They can only directly teach one half of the class, so they focus on the ones with larger potential. Actually that's exactly what she protests. "Practical Skills Training" is being taught by a teacher. Also Spoiler for minor spoiler:

About the unfairness thing
I agree with it wholeheartedly and because I know how this arc ends, I don't like the arrogant look that's given towards it by the main characters, pretty annoying As was said in the series, there are people that just can't use magic. Even if the people that can use magic have to study and train hard, those that can't use magic just don't get the chance at all

But yes, it's harsh but at the same time, whether you like it or not, efficient in dealing with resources. It's similar to a belief that if you're good, you will always rise above the rest no matter what school you go to.

Episode 04 was fairly regular.
A much needed info dump episode or else people would get too lost in how the world works. I have no idea why they decided to do an insert song at the end though. It wasn't really an emotional or important scene overall...lol. It revealed some stuff, but nothing OMG song now! Maybe they went overtime on scenes, so they were just like "errr turn it into an insert song and skip the ED.

Anyway, I'm still very impressed with the quality. At least it can make me forget that horrible feeling from Mahou Sensou...

"Just" attacked him. In any reasonable school, when a member of whatever organization that enforces the rules punishes a club member for a very clear and dangerous violation of them, if the rest of the club's members were to turn around and physically attack that organization member, their club would be shut down and they would all be expelled. It's blatant proof that they believe the rules don't apply to them, that they are arrogant and undisciplined, and they have no business being in a club that can end up representing the school. The fact that the issue wasn't even brought up means those petty bullies with delusions of grandeur haven't had the slightest thing done to correct their attitudes, and that is Bad™.

"Mahouka Koukou", this school is no doubt is some sort of a military school.
Tatsuya even knows that criminal organization's name, and that was really out of nowhere. And finally Juumonji debut, and how Tatsuya thought of him as a high tower naked fanserivce. In the opening only Juumonji appeared in a fighting sequence, sending the car flying until this episode. Yes, the club members attacked him. And I thought why would they do something stupid such as getting in trouble? They could just sue Tatsuya for whatever excuses they might come up with. |

Random stop and think about it for a moment. It's a matter of perception. During the kendo member's attack they complained, "Why only Kirihara? Mibu is at fault too." If the school is expected to come down on the kendo club members for physical assault, then both Kirihara and Mibu are at fault for the initial altercation. In Episode 4 during the hearing it's confirmed that Mibu is at fault as well for accepting the challenge. Kirihara also admitted his wrong doing on his own afterwards.
They mention in episode 2 that the aggressive club recruiting for the clearly explained reasons regularly results in physical altercations of varying types throughout the week. If they had to suspend people for every altercation there would be large groups of students getting kicked out for this and the school can't afford to have that happen so they go for a lighter form of damage control. I'm not condoning the Kendo club members actions. They're clearly wrong and arrogant to boot. It's simply a matter of perception. To them it looked like the Disciplinary committee was coming down on them exclusively for the incident while letting Mibu get off scot free and that felt unfair to them. The fact that it was a so called weed making the arrest made it seem doubly insulting. Tatsuya's cold and matter of fact attitude could even be interpreted as condescending contempt, even if we know it isn't. |

People do stupid things all the time. Doing something stupid irrational is just that. Their judgement were completely clouded due to their discrimination towards the weed and also by the fact that Tatsuya, a weed, easily talked to them as if he's on the same level as they are, the blooms, while at the same time easily taking them on.

The judgement were completely clouded for that reason is even worse and they call themselves Course 1 Student or in their language, "Blooms".
But even so, I thought the club members might understand Tatsuya's actions. They saw it themselves that Kirihara is the only person who used deadly magic against Mibu in a fair sword match. As for me I really have to get better on holding myself back on making those kinds of judgement. |

Wow, Miyuki's intense desire to be with him is unbelievably annoying. I know the the Ln stresses on their relationship, but come on, the anime is overkill when it comes to their relationship. She's using being worried about him as a pretense to keep tabs on his interactions with other girls. -_- I know why he's so fixated on her, but I can't even remember why she's the same. Its been so long since I read the Ln, that I've forgotten.
I just hope this damn series doesn't have a freaking Oreimo ending at the end of the day. Oh how that ending irked me. I honestly don't care who he goes with, once its a girl that isn't his sister, I'm content. I don't think I can handle another Oreimo. However, it seems the anime is banking on the Tats x Miyuki route though. The explanation they did on "Cast Jamming" was more or less accurate, but if you haven't read the manga or read the Ln, I'm afraid you'd get a bit lost. It helps to pause the vid & absorb each sentence one at a time. When I tried watching the whole convo without pausing, I got terribly lost despite the fact that I've read about it in both the manga & Ln. The events in the episode were also more or less faithful & I didn't really notice any changes that stood out. Well, this was a good buildup episode, so I can't complain that there isn't any world-building taking place. Lets see how the rest of the arc unfolds.
