The fanservice is just less censored than it was the first season.

There was a lot of fanservice in the original that had little to do with battles. Bath scenes, Yuki, Leo-sama, Genoise, Wakamoto's voice, and Eclair's underwear.

Is this series doing well with the Japanese? Do they plan to make a Dog Days Season 3 and possibly beyond that?

We don't know yet because we've just started the series. We'll have to wait to see if there will be room or a possible 3rd season depending on how the show goes.

Milhi is a tough opponent because she's been interested in Cinque and has known about him before being summoned to Biscotti, and even said that she loves him. Eclair is my fave but has a lot of catching up to do. Still this could get tricky for her...

I remember it's stated somewhere that the episodes are self contained, and that there's no monster. This means no plot and more character interraction and development than anything else... and leaving a little for 3rd season.

Does the Dog Days Season 1 Blu-Ray in Japan have English subtitles? I just heard that a lot of anime Blu-Rays do that. If so, that gives me hope about Dog Days Dash having English subtitles on the Blu-Ray. I'd import it.

Well I have all the Blu-Ray episodes of season 1 subbed on my computer, so it's safe to say that Japan does have them in English subtitles. I don't know how they import Blu-Rays over there so take my info with a grain of salt if you wish.

Those are subbed by the same fansubbers who have been subbing the episodes as they're released. Japanese releases of DVDs and Blu-Rays do not come with English subtitles as a general rule.

Hmm... I'm seeing lots of support for Eclair. I love her as well, but I'm going to stand by the Cinque x Milhi ship.

Well with her deredere and jealous side shown in episode 4 it definitely put her up the "food chain" a bit, plus the moment Cinque and Eclair had was really cute. I think she has a chance, but needs to be more open to say the least.

According to CD Japan, the Blu-ray of Dog Days (the first season) had English, French, and Chinese subtitles. There aren't any subtitles listed for the first Blu-ray of Dog Days', but it's likely that the full release information hasn't been posted yet.
