How long have you been watching anime for?

As for me I started when I was around 5. I think it was All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku. I thought it was cool because it was a cartoon, but then I didn't know what anime was. Sadly it wasn't till about 2 years ago when I started watching I My Me Strawberry Eggs till my love for anime came to be.

I hope that was a good story to read

It was around 1990, when I first watched series like Queen Millennia, Miyuki, Swiss Family Robinson and others on german tv and became addicted. 2/3 of my life I have been watching anime, more or less frequently.

Easily over 10 years now. It might even be over 13 years, if I count when I first started watching Dragonball back in, say.... 1st grade? Woah, it's been quite a while...

I watch anime for 2-3 years now. I think it's about 1 and 3 quarters but that makes 2 so... Yeah..

Unconscious anime watching (not knowing its anime):
Pokemon..
Then Yu-Gi-Oh
Then uhh.... NO NOT DBZ!! I THOUGHT IT SUCKED...

Conscious anime watching (knowing its anime):
My first anime was naruto.. (still watching it..)
Then came Bleach. (still watching it.. Its cooler than naruto)
Then I lost track and just watched whatever my friend suggested. I had about 25 anime's now.

If you count Speed Racer, Gigantor, and Astroboy - I've been watching anime since the 1960s? But actually there was a long dry spell til my at-the-time very young sons got hooked on Pokemon (which I actually enjoyed the first season). Then another long dry spell til reading Megatokyo convinced me to look at something that sounded like romantic comedies and drama that might actually have relationship, plot, and complete story evolution.

Something like since I was 5 or 6, which was 18-19, possibly even 20 years ago, though of course I didn't know at the time that Speed Racer and Astro Boy were.

Hrm...about 25 years now. Having lived through the original incarnation of dubs has made me appreciate what we have now :P

God, I have had to seen somewhere around 5000 shows or something.

I've been watching anime for awhile at least compared to how old I am. For about ten years I have been viewing anime.

I've been exposed to and addicted Sailor Moon, DBZ, and Ranma 1/2 since age 5 back in '96. But of course, I acknowledged those as cartoons.

Then came the arrival of my first HDD on April 7th, 2004, and I have been watching "anime" ever since. (i.e. fansubs)

I'm not going to count episodes of Doraemon and Sailor Moon that I don't remember, so I'm going to count from the time where I seriously began to watch anime, and that's two years ago. I'm surprised that most of you are anime gurus. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I used to wake up every Sunday morning at 6 am to watch DBZ on WB. I think I was around 10 or 11 at the time. Outside of that I didn't really watch any other anime until I was 12 or 13 if I recall. I'm 21 now so I'd say about 7 or 8 years (most of which was on TV). Around freshman year of college I really started getting into it and watching more than just what was on Adult Swim. One of the best decisions I've made.

Started at the end of 2006 during Christmas/mock exams revision time. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu got me into anime, and beyond what was broadcasted on television. Technically though, I started when I was 4, and I watched a bit of Crayon Shin-chan.

Longer than I could remember. According to wikipedia it must have started around 1974-1976. Vicky the Viking or Maya the Bee probably. I was around 5 years old and I'm not sure if I even had a concept of "Japan" back then.
