Weird Armstrong vibe from a character action game from last year.

It's no surprise that this show will come full circle at the end of it.

I gotta say I enjoy this Flamenger and From Beyond arc more after FB's all-out attack plan was revealed, was disappointed with the sentai turn of event at first eventhough I instantly fell in love with Flamenger theme song

The all-out attack that breaking sentai's, or any tokusatsu, MOTW trope was refreshing for me, since this large-scale attack that almost never happened in sentai. Even in final episode/battle, most tokusatsu never cover the whole Japan and forcing JSDF, police, and/or citizen to take part on the battle. And that epic moment where all Japan heroes showed up was awesome for sure

And now the plot is shifting again towards Western superhero type, I think it's quite exciting. Looking forward how Masayoshi will clear his name. Probably going back to his old Samurai Flamenco costume and get help from Goto, his manager, and prooobably Flamenco Girls

Btw, made these out of boredom

The opening has a new version. There is an emphasis on Goto's cellphone almost whenever he appears

At the end I think, it all return to the beginning, with the main villain as a man from the goverment and not a monster or a evil organization, trying to destroy the world.

I actually have my doubts about prime-minister being human and even if he is, he is pretty much not JUST a human. Do you remember what he did in the previous episode?

Well, in this series everything can happen. Are you talking about the bomb that he uses against the blue flamenger?

I'm happy I was wrong about Mari. It looks she will recover and come back as Flamenco diamond, after all. I'm looking forward to seeing a better side of herself after seeing the ugliest one for all these weeks. Thank god this phase is over, it was getting increasingly hard to watch.

Moe is too good for Mari. That girl is an angel. She didn't even mind kissing her after she barfed
Mizuki is really nice, too.

Goto is bro of the year. His only line in the episode was so great.

I was starting to think they would never finish that OP. It took them what, 5 weeks? Manglobe must have some serious problems (the OP doesn't even have that much animation...).

Anyway, the finished product is very nice. I love it.

Excellent episode. I'm glad they're taking their time with this latest plot, as I think it's creating a very nice build-up that I have this great anticipation will meet with a very cathartic end.

I get what their aiming for with Mari and MMM, but I think they overdid it... but at least the ugly mess is hopefully over for the trio.

The old man's story was executed perfectly. And this is key, because this bit could have felt ridiculously cheesy/trite without good execution, but thankfully they totally nailed it making it a very effective and moving bit.

They did a good job of bringing us up to speed on almost the entire main cast. Red Axe's current situation is very sad and disturbing, but the irony of a superhero being treated like Hannibal Lecter himself is also strong and effective.

There's two little tidbits that stood out to me more than the rest, from a speculation perspective.

First was the Japanese Prime Minister saying that 81% approval wasn't good enough, and that he needed one more push. As a guy who follows politics from time-to-time... This is weird. 81% is a super-majority with plenty of room to spare. Any politician with approval numbers like that has virtually limitless political capital. Any uptick beyond 81% would be just pure gravy when it comes to having political capital. So why does the Japanese Prime Minister need higher than 81%? Is it really just to satiate a ridiculously huge ego that can't allow even the slightest bit of opposition?

That's possible, I suppose, but I think it's more likely he has some master plan that requires an incredibly high degree of popular support behind him. Maybe the Japanese Prime Minister isn't human, and maybe he has a plan not unlike King Torture's freakish master plan. It's definitely something I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for.

Now, the second tidbit ties into the nice new OP...

Now this is interesting...

I'm pretty sure that the purple half is a completely new look for Konno. And I have to admit it gives me slight superhero/supervillain vibes. Specifically, it makes me think a bit of The Riddler of Batman fame. Is Konno going to adopt his own hero/villain persona, and use that to try to aid Hazama against the Prime Minister? If so, I'd love to see that!

Alternatively, this might just be an undercover disguise for Konno to use, and not an actual hero/villain persona.

As for the new OP in general - It seemed a bit slow at the start for me, but the full thing is great, with excellent image flow and compelling symbolism.

Samurai Flamenco continues to be a great, and (at this point, I think) an underappreciated, watch. I feel a bit sorry for those who dropped this show because they didn't like previous plot twists, because I think many of those viewers would like where the show is now.

Hazama x Goto is one of my favorite bromances in a while.
But even I didn't expect Hazama to go into a flashback montage of Goto.

Samumenco is going back to the roots. So far all the ultra silly stuff has more or less faded for now & we're back in character development mode.

We've got the girls reconciling & Moe basically came out to everyone...lol Mari is ambiguous at this point, I don't know how to place her. For sake of convenience, I'll consider her bi.

Hazama's faith was tested when he was faced with starvation or stealing. He learned from that homeless man that sometimes you need to trouble your friends, even if it'll get them in deep shit. That homeless man also renewed his faith as a hero.

Goto's back in action & more development's coming both his & Goto's way.

@Triple_R, isn't that what Konno wore when he was out of the country?

So we finally get animation for the second opening...well, not really. It's better than the still shots and re-used animation used before, and I like it overall, but it wasn't worth waiting five episodes for...

So Joji's wife is "Lady Axe?" Either she has her own superhero persona, or its just a term of endearment from Joji. If it's the latter, it's quite cute .

I thought it was hilarious that Sakura was the only Flamenger she didn't visit in jail. Lady Axe doesn't even acknowledge she exists .

That said, I doubt a guard or glass would be able to keep those two from going at each other, which I have a good inkling would happen .

Can't say this episode made me sympathize or care more for Mari, but I thought Moe was great and Mizuki was the wake up call the original Flamenco Girl needed. Kanon's right, Moe can do so much better than Mari, but the fact that she still sticks by her shows how strong her love really is. And when you're willing to make out with someone after they've heaved, you certainly have my respect .

And with that said, I think this episode quenched any possibility for a Masayoshi or even a Goto romance, since I really feel Mari is firmly in one camp no matter how much she may crush on Goto in a uniform .

Though a part of me hopes that by the end of things Goto winds up arresting Mari for something, just for the hilarity and irony .

I thought Masayoshi's talk with the homeless guy was great, and wasn't he the guy Samurai Flamenco saved before the whole Guillotine Gorilla incident?

"Ultimate Prime Minister?" Well, we've got six episodes left, so I have my doubts the Prime Minister will end up being the final boss but hopefully he'll put up a good show for the end of this arc.

Another great episode:

-Kaname being treated like Hannibal Lecter
-Lady AXE and her total mental block out of Sakura, and Kaname's expresion.
-Mizuki and Mari punching each other in the FACE
-The ENTIRE girl fight. It just seems so well done compared to how these things get acted out in other anime.
-Mari lying on top of her own puke
-Moe's bag over her head
-DAT YURI KISS (with puke)
-Samurai Flamenco coming full circle
-Gotou's line to Masayoshi at the end.

It's funny that you bring up episode 7

In the conversation prior to saving that old man, Goto called Hazama a freak instead of a hero. I wouldn't be surprised that at the end of the series Hazama can finally graduate from being a mere freak who changed society to a proper hero who saves it.

A feel good episode. The scene with Goto and Masa at the end, oh the feelz I got! Konno is starting to grow on me. The scene with Masayoshi and the old man was heartwarming and definitely what he needed. I liked the scene with Kaname Lector and Lady Axe. It was also nice to follow up on how the Flamengers were doing. Pretty funny bit where Lady Axe didn't acknowledge Sakura. Plus, they finally resolved things between MMM.

Kiss and make up

Don't make her wait.

I am an unapologetic yuri fan, but then it just hit me that she hurled a minute ago with some fresh puke sticking to her clothes.

Oh it was just their saliva. Carry on.

That's signs of true love from Moe right there. She doesn't care that there's puke on Mari's clothes

I have a feeling that the current arc will just go for another 2 episodes, leaving 4 for his origin story.
