@ npal ~ lol it never crossed my mind using the request thread doesnt really matter tho ~ *cough*

well oki ep 3 ~ asa's side of the story ~

first thing i noticed while watching this was that asa's arc seems to get more new scenes than kaede (based on whats shown so far) yep its a recap but still we get to see a bit more into asa ~ namely some guy getting rejected by her...(not sure if that was in the original its been soo soo long )
also ill be bold to say that the animation has improved somewat (due to the new added scene) which was pleasant ~

basically we get to see how asa mistreated ama knowing what a crappy body she has ~ flashbacks from the cruel past shows asa pushing her o so gentle mother around...but luckily she now knows the error of her ways ~

that scene again when asa falls on top of rin is also present ~ something that the kkk wont want to see no doubt

also another scene which ive forgotten ~ we see prim being taken away back to the demon world when she was too sick to even more and it was asa who opened rin up...while the other girls were telling rin not to go and help prim...asa stook up for him and help to open everyone up...i think that this scene is quite significant in showing how rin finally became to like asa so much ~

No, actually Asa did reject a guy in the original version, he even gave her a gift or something and she returned it. As for why Rin likes Asa, it's up to interpretation If you ask me, I find it strange how Sia's case got shafted after it had endured for so many episodes, with a good number of positive indications. Nah, Rin is just your typical harem lead, he's always indecisive no matter what the girls do

I have to respectively disagree with you on that point.

It was because of this situation with Primula that Rin chose (I have to put in a caveat that I believe that at this time it was a sub-conscious choice, and it was later that we see it trickle up to his conscious). Kaede wanted Rin not to get hurt, Sia and Nerine because it was against their father's wishes. As DK posted:

This is the turning point in the series (and the source of much of the shabby writing later on. )

Well, Anti-Kaede fans would be happy with this episode. As for the Anti-Asa fans....well, I dunno what will happen Btw, that family pic is pretty good

@Cyz: little of the material covered in this ep relates to the parts of the series "anti-Asa" fans (or more accurately, "wtf? story?" fans) have issue with. Most people are just "pro" particular girls or find certain story aspects to be broken.

But it looks like we have to wait til the second half of the season to find out if they fixed lame aspects of the story or decided to give multi-path endings.

Hey! I'm the first one who voted!

I just watched the raw, and I just gotta say it's like watching episodes 7 and 15 of Shuffle! again... I gave it an 8 since episode 7 is one of my favorite episodes.

I do hope the bookend is not a rehash of the final arc of Shuffle!

Man, I hope we get to see those pictures from the end in a bigger format!

Wow, Shuffle! Memories is really disappointing so far. It's probably a good idea for me to stop expecting new materials from here on out but I really want to give this "remake" a benefit of the doubt. Right now, I can't stop thinking about how this is a really lame way to milk the franchise.

Personally, even if the second half of the season is completely brand spanking new, I think they're unnecessarily killing the franchise (or some accountant is killing it via "cost saving ideas") .... they'd have been better off doing OVAs of each girl.

Thankfully, it will take exactly and only ONE of the second-half episodes to determine whether this thing is alive or lost to the Undead realm.

Plus since they aren't mentioned in the episode titles published... the best you might get is some cameo items in the current rehash (I really can't call Memories a series yet...).

Even though the episode wasen't all that i expected from it. The OP and the ED kept me interested.

Well, yeah, they mentioned to begin with (in the original promo pieces) that Memories would stay focused on the 5 main girls, which was another way of saying that they wouldn't be adding stories for Kareha, Mayumi, etc. this time around.

Seriously, guys.... the material isn't really new - so rate the episodes on the edit quality and the OP/ED - but give them a smack for having no new content. In this episode, they don't even cover Asa properly, leaving out a lot of her best scenes in the first part while spending a considerable amount of time with Primula's footage. I can't even give it good edit points.

Kanon 2006, Mahoraba, or Kamichu! rates a few 10s.... not this stuff... really. Nerine is, like, one of my top favorite girls of all anime and her episode isn't going to get better than a 5 from me unless there's some marvelous editing.
