Great fun! Thanks! Why am I not surpised, Kim? I think it might be the best one so far, too. While I appreciate Nakajima's epic vision of repressed Japanese society, I liked episode four for the pure joy of animation it displayed. Sometimes just watching incredibly talented people explore their craft has its own rewards.

Oy, you've changed your avatar.
On the bright side, that's not quite as alarming as the time I had the bouncing Rei head from NGE Episode 25 in my .sig. I watched the episode again, and the two tiny moments that amuse me the most in all viewings are the perfect four-beat silence followed by Ryuko's "Huh?" after Mako explains some of the proceedings to her, and how Ryuko initially responds to Maiko saying that Maiko will try to make it on her own with a "Good luck then." |

The best thing about this episode is that you could probably show it to someone who hasn't watched the series yet with minimal priming, and they would get a really good idea of what Kill La Kill... is.
Also, Mako is the best thing that has happened to anime in years. |

I'm really looking forward to the Mako clones that will inevitably start appearing after this show is over.

Original shows don't have fillers, besides she was supposed to fight ranked students and SHE DID. Goddamit, what a world.
