I decided to take advantage of the current campaign to progress through the main story since that's kind of exactly what it's for. Finished Chinese Lostbelt, and I can't say I enjoyed it much. Being spoiled about Yu Mei-ren and Xian Yu's ultimate fate in the Summer Camp event probably had to do with it but regardless, I don't think it was a very good story. The hypest moment was probably Spartacus' sacrifice but that was ripped straight from Camelot. As much as I love Mordred, I felt like she didn't belong there and she didn't end up doing shit in the end. Jing Ke made sense given who the King was, and was probably the stand out Servant of the story on the Chaldea side.

Nezha had plenty of screentime in Salem and her way of talking annoys me to no end, sadly it looks like she's a resident Servant like Holmes and Da Vinci now since she's also going to the Indian Lostbelt (played the prologue). Only thing I know about this LB is who its King is, so it will be a fresh experience. Based on who the King is I can tell Karna is going to be summoned though.

Never felt it was a hassle. I just get a little burned out after a while and have to take breaks, and sometimes it's harder to get back to it either because of other hobbies getting in the way or on-going FGO events eating up time and APs. I started a bit more than 300 days ago, I think I'm making good time all things considered.

On a translation note... Is the use of the word "sacrament" correctly translated? Because the way they are described sounds so much different than what we know from the Holy Church... In fact, the Holy Church's sacraments would seem to be especially useful against the type of fairies.

Well, threw down all the rolls I could really spare for Morgan's banner. Just threw about 50 tickets and hoped for the best. Did end up getting a copy. So I can't complain there. Will take my luck and save for the next banner.

Might as well chart my thoughts as I go on this LB too. There's a lot to take in and this feels like a story that will be great.

Spoiler for Sections 1-3:

I did wonder for a while where Mash was. But seems like a safe bet to presume that she's actually the "fake" child of prophecy in the other region. Seems completely fair for something like that to happen. Amnesia combined with her armor, physical ability, and various traits would make it understandable. Plus she's mostly in the right age bracket. I say mostly since at this point Mash and Ritsuka should be in their 20s! And I say this before actually getting to the short scene where those goblin-like faeries think she is one.

Holy smokes that initial village sequence was freaky. The whole Castoria as Mash thing was kind of funny and did set them up early. Plus it sets up the reversal later. Castoria took Mash's name and role for a while, and Mash is doing the same. But scary to see what those fairies turned to. Really sad since we did generally get to know them. Then...boom off go the heads!

And geeze this Gawain is hardcore! Of course it's not like they had any power fighters with them at that time. And even more cheap was the command seal eating. But still, that wasn't a fight to win. At least Tristan got a great final showdown. Kind of a shame he didn't name himself since that would have gotten a good reaction. Says a lot about how brutal this LB is going to be though. Barely a few parts into it and they've already lost one of the Knights of the Round table! The only one so far they've been able to summon.

I'll give this to LB6, the characters are really interesting. Definitely have plenty of personality. Clearly they are keeping things with Morgan a bit unclear for the time being. Probably to build up the mystery and set things up for later in the LB. For now FK Gawain and Tristan are taking center stage. Solid timing having the new Tristan get into the mix after the original has just been killed. Absolutely brutal and nuts. Maybe there will be more to her than that, but she's definitely dangerous. All the more so with her having some weird dynamic going on with Beryl. I'll presume she's his servant. Certainly a strange situation with her being quite into this guy. Probably because he's pretty messed up himself. Though says a lot about how scary Tristan is that Beryl seems pretty active about dodging the topic of marrying her . I like the idea that this Tristan also has pretty good vibes going with Castoria. Maybe because she reminds Tristan of Morgan?

At the very least I'm finding things a good deal entertaining. No one is on the dull level of the Dioscuri so far. And I'm enjoying them set up the debut of Fairy Knight Lancelot. Making clear that she's a legitimate powerhouse that could swoop in and utterly wreck everyone's day in a hurry!

Some things are just obvious. Like the setup for "maybe it's Mash" not being Mash. Iron weapon is a pretty vague descriptor. If someone said a busty girl in armor with a huge shield that would have definitely confirmed it. But I'll give the game this one...I wouldn't have bet it would be Muramasa . Good job game. Got me with the twist on that one.

So the Mash story begins. And she's got her old kit back! Thank you Camelot! I suppose it does make sense though. If there's any place where her original power would be tapped into it would be here. No shock the story is very clear on nothing physical happening even after Mash becoming Queen. Hammering the point of her physically rejecting that lion dude and beating him up.

But I can sort of get behind Boggart's idea of not sending Mash out to fight. At least if it's coming from the idea of it being ridiculous to send someone who doesn't even know who they are to go and fight like that. Fighting for a cause pushed on them while in that state. But he's also a bit of an idiot. And with Beryl realizing where Mash is long before the main cast...it's not good. Honestly I don't think the story has been so quick to push Mash into such danger while all on her own.

Spoiler for Section 7:

So FK Lancelot arrives and makes an impact. Starting off with aerial bomardments and building up from there. Even Mash really tapping into Galahad’s power didn’t let her stand a chance. No against unlimited NP spamming! Still getting a feel for her personality in this part of the story. But no question about her being an absolute force! And nice to see Caster Cu.

Not sure about Beryl though. Him being Morgan’s master has timeline questions. Plus Tristan fits as his servant better. Closer to him and shares the same horrible tastes.

Spoiler for Section 8 and 9:

So this was pretty fun. The reunion with the MC and Mash remained a solid highlight that they built up to there. All the more solid because they started with her not immediately remembering. Raised some good questions on whether what Mash had before was greater than the sense of purpose and identity she'd found in the Lostbelt. And I just appreciated the expected, but satisfying push of the MC racing out to support Mash and help deal with that cataclysm. Made me think of the First Order OVA and even the Babylonia anime.

What I didn't expect was the whole move of having Mash be disappeared after all the time spent trying to catch up with her! I'd presume Morgan has her in a dungeon or something, but who knows. I guess it's possible a third party intervened and that's the reason Mash disappeared. In which case Mash could be anywhere. It's certainly interesting how the story keeps working to do things with Mash, but also keep her separate from the cast. Presumably so there's time to build a bond between Castoria and the MC.

That was also a pretty solid fight. Tried to pick up on the challenge of using either story servants or servants that would be considered appropriate to be active in this kind of Lostbelt. Surprisingly my first attempt went decently considering I had no idea what was coming and just kind of threw out Morgan/Mash/Castoria at the start . Didn't win, but it was closer than I thought. So changed it up and relied on good old Melt once again. She didn't last the whole fight, but she did whittle down the enemy pretty well. In the end finished it up with a slow push with Mash, Castoria, and Da Vinci.

Spoiler for Section 10:

Honestly I feel as if Morgan is just openly asking to be defeated. Didn’t have to say as much as she did. Just let the cast know what she had and how nothing they want will happen until they beat her. Even giving them freedom to act until they are ready to fight. Seemed perfectly chill if Artoria took her spot.

Lancelot was fun in her small battle. Gawain was fine too. Glad they are giving people the chance with using these units for a bit.

Spoiler for Section 11-12:

So that's some interesting bits. Artoria got her power-up. Interesting that she had to gain allies and the chance to ring the bell before she could get the powers that would make it easier for others to allow her to start ringing bells . Suppose it was part of the test in that respect.

Mash just goes on a ride in this story doesn't she!? Now she's tossed back in time and probably is the "Tam Lin" that no one could recall the name of. I'm guess that during her journey Aesc before she dies will be able to send Mash back to the present, but who knows how exactly it will all work out.

Ok, well that was an ugly situation. Sucks that they made it all the way there, but it was far too late. Guess this war really is well underway. I am kind of surprised that Morgan put forward her elites for a task like this though. Barghest and "Lancelot" seem like overkill for something like this. It is just burning down a forest and killing some fairly helpless faeries. Yeah, there were some decent odds that Oberon himself would show up, but seems like a lot of effort for that too. Did she just send out the Fang clan leader to simply keep Artoria and company pinned down until after that massacre was over? Would at least partly align with the idea that she didn't want him to fight despite sending his forces out there.

Certainly a strange thought that the Tam Lin are constrained by their roles instead of being empowered by them. Barghest only got stronger after her true name was dragged out into the open. Certainly seems fairy rational despite her loyalties clearly being for the other side here.

Credit to the Percival and Gareth combo for taking on the stealth dude. I wish we got more of the encounter between Percival and Lancelot. Kind of funny that she seemed more upset at his tactical mismanagement than anything else. Fair enough too. Heading all the way out there only to both arrive too late and leave his main base understaffed really was a questionable choice. Of course there was a benefit gained here at overcoming Barghest, but that's still a risky choice. Holding her status well as the most powerful/beautiful in the land too. I can't imagine beating Percival and Gareth was beyond her ability, but she still ended up leaving. Doesn't sound like she was active in the slaughter/burning of the woods either.

Too bad for the jerk that got...eaten alive (I think). Making clear how there are plenty of factors at play here.

Spoiler for Section 14-15:

Well Percival isn’t going to survive this. Sounds like that lance is a bad thing for him to be using. But not like he has much choice considering the level of opponents.

And there’s an ancient god’s body at the bottom of that pit…this should be fine.

Honestly that’s probably the real lost belt king there. If this place was a lost belt before Morgan’s age and she turned it into something else then it makes sense. Guess we’ll be fighting that either in this part or the next.

Spoiler for Section 16-17:

Wow, Lancelot really is a treasure. Truly the best of the enemy servants. Her personality shining at that little party. The whole angle of her being Percival's big sister just being the right kind of "what!?" to leave the main cast a bit baffled for a moment.

Man, Tristan got utterly wrecked which was pretty entertaining. Castoria really can be good at the smack talk when she wants to be. I can't feel too badly for her considering how she's flaunted her cruelty pretty happily to this point. Getting hit hard by reality here.

No surprise that Castoria can't remotely connect with the journey of OG Artoria. Taking on a task that would end in tragedy. The issues and tragedy of Artoria's journey as a person has been covered pretty thoroughly in both FSN itself and in the various game/films/shows. But I still can appreciate that OG Artoria still willingly took on that task even after being warned over it.

Aesc is kind of scary. Pretty casually talking about being on the fence about murdering Mash or helping her. I get it to a degree. Clearly despite being called a savior in the future...she hasn't had a great time. That her connection with the faeries of that realm overall being one tarnished with hate and blood. I can't blame her for being mad. Though it is tragic and sad.

Barghest had some good moments here. I find myself really respecting her more. She's got a messed up condition herself. And really says something that it took a "lover" that was too weak for her to truly find happiness. She needed someone that she'd never be tempted to devour. I like the idea of taking some of these guys as refugees. It's the first chance the main cast and Chaldea have had a chance to think like that. They can't possibly save everyone, but it's kind of cool that they could feel a bit better by saving some lives.

Spoiler for Section 18:

No surprise that the chapter called Albion ended up my favourite so far. Some things were unavoidable to know going into this LB, but glad that most of Melusine's backstory was left unknown to me. Really nice visual there with Aurora lifting Melusine out of that pool and basically helping form her very identity. So much of her of course is Albion. But the one that basically gave her life was Aurora. What can you say, she did wade herself into all that and helped Melusine form. So her existence is very much thanks to her.

Another satisfying scenario of Vitch getting utterly smacked around . I'm still going to roll for her in a little over a week, but I have no problem accepting that she's a messed up creature. Messing with those bones and trying to take Melusine for herself? I don't think so!

Kind of funny how she treats Percival leading an army like a kid acting out . Though I get it. Clearly she's got her own loyalties and can't really side with him right now despite caring about him. Whatever deal she cut with Morgan had to involve protecting Aurora. She can't just betray her right now.

Spoiler for Section 19:

So that's how things are...no wonder Morgan ended up the way she did. Honestly, it's a sad tale for sure. She really tried to be a savior. The problem is that...faeries kind of suck. Every time she saved them they only ended up attacking and despising her. Yeah, I know opinions were mixed, but in the end things kept going that way. These idiots were so unwilling to accept a faerie from outside Britain that they kept that nonsense up until things reached utter apocalypse. Fools that eventually were stuck with no way to deal with the Calamity, because they murdered the only person that could! It's like a superhero movie where people start chasing around the hero with pitchforks. Who do they think is going to save them next time?

A dark twist on her having one of the faeries that caused that tragedy planted as a scapegoat so the real Morgan wouldn't be executed the next time. Cruel...I get it. If that faerie hadn't been scum in the first place she'd never have been picked for the role. At the very least Morgan is owed for actually sending Mash back to the future. Considering she had to know that they'll fight again in the future that couldn't have been simple or easy to choose to do. But she did it anyways.

It was good getting Mash back too. What a long journey. All these sections and finally Mash is back. Good on them of course. The story really has been as much about developing Mash as anything. She's spent months consciously on her own and obviously has been sealed up for a much longer time. Ironic for the girl who had been doomed to a young death in the first part.

Spoiler for Chapter20:

This probably could have gone in the last one, but it's good to have Caster Cu back. He's been through a lot himself. Really makes the journey feel nostalgic knowing we last really saw him in the prologue! And hey this version of Medb is pretty cool. I'm really feeling good about my leaning to use the SSR ticket on Medb. It obviously isn't exactly her, but the point remains. She's clearly been through a lot and I'm liking her rivalry with Castoria.

Holy smokes Castoria created the most dangerous chocolate in history. Did this turn into a Valentine event!? Well I guess there were no Nobus so it doesn't quite count.

Baobhan Sith ended up making her move. Certainly a sad figure in some ways, but also an incredibly horrible one at the same time. Technically the faeries tend to suck in various ways, but her slaughter and horrific actions definitely aren't a positive. Solid tactics at least. Splitting up the team and then targeting the MC with fewer protectors. Good on Castoria for acting to help. So at least he wasn't sucked in there alone. Rough day for Super Mash. At least the fight was fun. Almost cruel of course since I basically two-turned her with Melusine. That was fun.

Spoiler for Section 21:

Well RIP Pepe. I'll say this, it is the first Crypter I did feel something for when they died. And that's saying a lot since I really didn't feel too bad for most of them. They did decide to revive themselves and paid the price of betraying history itself as part of the deal. And Pepe was a pretty brutal individual that murdered a ton of people and never really felt bad about that. Though his messed up heritage certainly played a huge role in that. In the end he paid the price to keep Ritsuka and Mash safe. Artoria too of course, but he made sure those two wouldn't end up hurting as much as they would have to in order to push through that mass of horror. And thanks to that they managed to avoid the worst case scenario of them all dying. Beryl was pushed back for now.

God Beryl is a piece of work. Absolutely evil to his core. I don't even want to think about the state that Baobhan Sith had been reduced to and will be reduced to as the future chapters come. He's definitely going to die before this story is over, that's for sure.

At least things are cleared up. So in the end it all came from him summoning Morgan. She actually rayshifted her knowledge to the past and Aesc took things from there. No wonder the future changed so substantially. Managed to avoid her own dead end. Can't exactly argue that she made the wrong choice. If she'd done nothing then there would be nothing right now. No faeries at all, no Melusine (would have never formed), and just a wasteland. The problem is that while her methods did save the land...there's no bright future here. Stopping her isn't necessarily wrong. Although I again can't blame her for the anger.

I kind of wonder if she didn't choose Tristan as her heir because she wanted someone to make the faeries suffer. She'd been ruling for so long that her emotions had dulled to a degree, but she still had the embers of hatred. Someone like Baobhan Sith that was happy to torment faeries might have been perfect. Though hey maybe she wanted to see if a messed up individual like that could be formed into a real ruler too.

Spoiler for Section 22:

Oh boy. Things didn't look good from the start and it got more messed up. Completely fair for Murian to look like Kazuradrop. That kind of torment and horror is how far the variants of BB can go because of the way BB made them. Kind of funny to have Koyanskaya looking down at Murian for getting her revenge. She's a beast herself and an evil of humanity. Not sure she's in a position to be critical. What a fate though. Those fools really didn't think twice about going to Murian despite her having every reason to hate them. Of course Percival and the army were fools too. They didn't even consider what might happen. Losing the Fang clan does cost the faeries some serious firepower and they'll struggle (presuming this place doesn't collapse) in the future, but I can't say it's a shock that Murian did this.

Makes sense for Gareth. Of course she was the reincarnated Ainsel. The story was clear that someone had to take the place to replace the bell.

Man Melusine...it is war...but still...Certainly true that the Round Table Army was foolish and naive. They kept getting more and more forces and they didn't doubt anyone. Of course honestly if they didn't lead Percival and Gareth behind then there was no way to avoid the traitors doing what they did. Especially with Melusine there as support. But still...they were too careless.

RIP Gareth. She stuck it out. It just...ended up that way. At least she acted the way she thought was best.

Spoiler for Section 23:

So the war begins. No helping a lot of what is going to happen here. I get it with Percival. He really does care about Melusine and did so much of this to simply free her. But he was naive. She was going to be a force against them and that meant people were going to be hurt by her before the end. Now he's up to fight against his family. He's already whittled himself down using that spear too. I'm getting an idea what's up with Melusine as well. The love she had was probably misplaced. Though I suppose she realizes that on some level. Makes sense though. She sticks it out as Lancelot because that helps maintain her faerie form. Hate to say, but I'm starting to get it. She's willing to accept the horrors so long as she keeps what she cares about most. Though honestly part of me doesn't get it. I mean her faerie form is great. But her dragon form is also pretty cool.

Kind of funny that Woodrose was the most rational of the Fang clan (besides Barghest). He actually saw what happened to Murian's people as a terrible thing. Of course he didn't think they could be absolved of their sin, but he was trying to change things so that wouldn't happen again. Sadly it didn't matter. His efforts were in vain. I suppose some might have changed, it's hard to say. But at the very least those that rose to the top that Murian killed first...they didn't learn anything. They were still talking trash to someone who's people they'd done an insane crime against. They didn't think anything through and they paid the price.

Rough spot for Artoria. Having the ability to see truth and lies really is something brutal. And she had quite a bit to interrogate Oberon over...

The pieces are coming together though. Barghest is ready to turn, Woodrose is in a bad state and Tristan...is probably going to die horribly. Honestly, I've had a creepy feeling about Aurora for a while. I agree with Da Vinci that Coral feels more legitimate in her caring side. Aurora, just feels slimy. At the very least she did lie to Woodrose about there being no reinforcements and everything she claimed Morgan said. Was definitely trying to set him off. And is it coincidence that her army isn't going to arrive in time?

Spoiler for Section 24:

Geeze...that was intense! Oberon wasn't kidding. The best way to take down Morgan really was assassination. I mean yeah, we were trying to beat her, but this just feels messed up. Aurora and Spriggan really pulled the strings here. Tricking Woodrose into a suicidal charge even as he was on the verge of dying to get her off the throne, then using Baobhan Sith who Morgan surprisingly really cared about against her, and following it up with something shocking enough to push those crazy faeries off the bench into the attack. They turned on Morgan instantly. Honestly that did a better job making me feel bad than actually wiping out Lostbelts did!

Yeah, even knowing there is even more coming...this one is easily the best Lostbelt by a mile. That was uncomfortable. Even knowing that Morgan seconds ago was unleashing her power and using it to smoke all the characters at once. Honestly the fight against the multi versions of herself was nuts. I wasn't sure you were supposed to lose and actually got pretty far trying to have Melusine spam her AOE NP as much as I could get away with.

Spoiler for Interlude:

Wow, Murian really is broken. I can kind of empathize a bit with Koyanskaya since she did see her as a friend. Watching someone you knew all broken down is a bit unfortunate. She got her revenge, but the revenge itself just destroyed her mind. It was all she lived for, but the reality of it just reminded her of how horrible her own losses were. Plus without that purpose left she's just falling apart. Everyone is refreshing about wanting to pick a fight with Proper Human History too. Which seems like a bad idea considering how things went for all the previous Lostbelts. Just take the positives of the situation and don't push your luck guys. Though that may be pointless. Holmes makes a good point that the core problems of this land haven't been tackled. Morgan didn't create the Mors, the Calamities, or any of that. She just managed them. In that case the real core problem hasn't been dealt with.

Spoiler for Section 25:

Oh my god, was the MC and Chaldea as a whole saved by the standard "we are under-aged and can't drink" nonsense!? Abstaining from alcohol all this time has finally paid off! Thank goodness Ritsuka hasn't figured out that after this much time he's definitely old enough to be drinking. Or so I'd say but we already know he's basically immune to poison. There's no way whatever they spiked the drinks with is stronger than Serenity's poison. At most it did save Da Vinci and the others that wouldn't have been immune so there's that.

Things got messy right from the start. Sadly did get a stupid spoiler thanks to a meme of all things for that particular moment. But at least the scene overall was well handled. Rip Cnoc. Sadly like Morgan she was simply outplayed in terms of subterfuge and conspiracy. Both of them were much more capable and upfront with their tactics. That just left them easier to manipulate and assault from the sides and from behind. It's at least a comfort that Coral was clearly left in the dark in terms of all of this. She's far too honest and responsible to willingly go along with such stupid atrocities.

Thankfully Percival was able to get Lancelot to back down. Though her being there just screams who is behind all this. Even she knows that she's on the wrong side. In a sense she really is a Lancelot. Too strong feelings for the wrong person is putting her against those she should be siding with.

Spoiler for Section 26:

Yeah, Percival isn't looking good. But it was made clear earlier how using that spear is a bad thing for a person to use now that it's in the state it is in. His lifespan is being sucked up and he's probably got little left after using it twice already. Not that anything else is going better. Barghest is in a bad spot and the whole area is going to hell. The conspirators really picked the worst time to pull a stupid stunt like this. Or more sadly to say...Aurora didn't think at all. Spriggan was scum, but at least he was tactical about it. Aurora is representing the utterly horrific whims of the faeries. She just felt like doing something and since no one was able to suppress her...she went and did it. Assassinating the one person ready to keep them safe from the Great Calamity at the worst possible time to do so. Because the future didn't matter to her. I feel awful leaving Coral there, but there's no choice. She'll just have to keep her safe while amusing that lunatic.

Sadly Murian wasn't as on top of things as she thought. Even if she wasn't...basically stabbed in the back it was probably hopeless for her. She was so broken that she couldn't process what she did to the Fang clan. Also looks like this is the point where the game decided that 3 enemies on the screen at once just isn't imposing enough. Time to load up on enemies!

What a nightmare. A legitimate apocalypse unleashed on Britain. And it took no time at all to just completely swallow everything up. Morgan's plans fizzled as no one was left alive to sit on her throne and fire on that insane God. What a mess. Poor Barghest reduced to a monster of destruction. Ruining all the things she held dear. Don't even want to think about what is left of the guy she cared about...Also just horrific seeing Cernunnos just unleash all of that. The cast stood firm and fought hard in the earlier parts...to face down one hand! And that thing had...near infinite. Kind of awkward that they had to be saved by Koyanskaya. I'll say moments like that are starting to warm me up to her. That she did all that for the sake of her friend. And good on Murian. It was a bit late, but at least she managed to accept her stupidity and let go of revenge to protect what she wanted to save.

Never thought I'd be saying this but...Thank God for Merlin!

Good god...I expected the story of Britain to be bad. But I never imagined it was this horrible. Those absolutely idiotic faeries! Stupidity, errors, and atrocities just built upon each other until this hell became the end result. While I enjoyed seeing the story I only first learned about in Fate/Extra (the whole Sefar thing was cool to see here) it was still awful to see how everything turned out. Those idiots ended the world because they slacked off! They couldn't be bothered to craft Excalibur and that doomed everything on Earth. And then they had the absolute nerve to come up to the surface and shrug off their sins. How could it not end there? You'd think ending the world would be the end of it. But no, they kept going! They murdered this kind god that was frankly too nice to properly criticize them. That was left to his Priestess who simply didn't have the power to do more than bother them. And they had the insane nerve to murder that god and desecrate his priestess. That poor girl. I haven't felt this disgusted since I thought about the horrible death Olga Marie had to face in the beginning. This woman was taken to a level beyond torture. Her very being was desecrated and not allowed to die as they used her to create the human clones on the surface now. The absolute monsters. Obviously not all faeries are like that and not all are the same as their ancestors. But I'm not shocked that Cernunnos doesn't care. Obviously it's not in a state to think about anything. All that's left is rage.

If any modern faerie we've seen perfectly reflects the selfish stupidity of the faeries of old it would be Aurora. Absolutely short-sighted, selfish, and truly cruel. Selfishly sending her people down the road to oblivion without any ability to take responsibility. Anyone that offers criticism like that Priestess did is left to suffer a horrible fate. God, Melusine really sided with the wrong person...

So off to Avalon. We've seen a good chunk of Castoria's backstory, but it is still rough to see how her life was. They really did absolutely treat her like garbage. And it sucks that she is mostly incapable of getting angry for her own sake, but has no problem doing so for others. It also makes sense that she didn't lose her memories when we met her. Her skills and magic wouldn't have been as effective if she didn't know anything about herself. In the end her own lie was just such a soft one from a person that just wanted a friend.

Will cover the interlude here. Yeah, a tragic tale there with Melusine. Though I get it. In the end it was Aurora's charisma that brought her into a solid form to begin with. She just couldn't get over that while also maintaining herself. Her existence was such a fragile thing despite her being so incredibly powerful. Certainly giving her the title of Lancelot makes great sense. Did things she'd end up regretting and feeling self-loathing over for the sake of a love she just couldn't control. Of course I wouldn't put Aurora and Guenevere on the same level. Hardly an intense expert on the Athurian myth, but I don't think she was a bad person. In the end Melusine was just in a spot she couldn't pull herself out of. Even if she was partly motivated for Aurora's benefit, she did stop her from even attempting to escape to Proper Human History. Who knows exactly how things would have played out for Aurora, but Melusine probably is right that it would have been a death spiral. Even if it wasn't out of a desire to make Aurora pay for her crimes, at least Melusine put an end to that narcissist. All the more so after finding out that she still ended up killing Coral. That monster really never cared for a thing besides herself. It allowed her to survive so long without losing purpose, but so many didn't survive for that exact reason.

All did lead to a sad farewell. In the end she did the right thing by stopping Aurora, but without her she couldn't maintain herself in a human shape. Flying around in a berserk state isn't shocking considering the mental damage everything did on her. I suppose it was only right that Percival had to end things. If she ended up in proper human history in that state the consequences would be enormous. A far bigger threat to the world than Barghest would be. He didn't have much time left anyways. So at least using it helping to put Melusine to rest (so she could get summoned by us later) is probably the right call.

This section was just packed. Going through all that tragedy in quick order. Rough spot for Barghest. Even more tragic is that she killed her latest lover regardless. I suppose the hope that him not being strong would hold her desires at bay didn't matter. All the more cruel is that someone "I wonder who..." messed with her memories so she wouldn't break down right away. Even more horrible is that the faeries immediately snapped and started killing the humans. The hope that any of these scumbags could be taken to proper human history was a long shot. Unfortunately with a few exceptions, the descendants of scum...remained scum. Or rather any that weren't scum didn't last enough to get rescued. Coral would have been great to take. But sadly Aurora murdered her. There were a few decent ones, but just not enough. I did enjoy Gawain and Lancelot showing up. Was starting to think the story forgot that they could summon Knights of the Round. Kind of wish they'd summon Saber Artoria, but I doubt it. FGO may love to make use of say Gilgamesh every possible chance, but Saber Artoria outside of FSN? I don't think so!

To hell with that giant elk thing! Personally I have incredible sympathies for him. A very nice deity that didn't really want to scold faeries who's idiocy caused global annihilation...But he was murdered, his priestess was worse than murdered, and all his hate and anger is 100% justified. But...that's one thing and this is another. Beating that thing was a pain in the rear! I managed to somewhat stumble my way through it thanks to Melusine (because minus Barghest I'm not giving up on using her everywhere), Castoria, and Medea Lily. This was a great time for Medea Lily really. Lot of debuff clearing options and heals are absolutely vital to crawl through this. I don't regret using some command seals on this one. After a ton of attempts I just did what was necessary!

Admittedly I wasn't sure what to make of the red text thing. But I guess it's just nice responses versus a bit more venom from Ritsuka. I thought it might be a rare good or bad end kind of thing, but doesn't seem that way. Man Oberon is a piece of work. Sadly his betrayal wasn't itself a surprise since...we can't avoid spoilers to that degree. That's the price of being 2 years behind JP. But at least I didn't see how his move would be made. And honestly it made the story even more stressful since I never knew where he'd show up or when his move would be made. Half expected him to show up and stab any number of allies in the back. But instead just showed up after we crushed that god. What a mess though. If we kill Cernunnos then the end kicks off thanks to that Abyssal Worm. But if we don't then the world is still destroyed due to the calamities and curses spreading across the world. It's a lose/lose scenario here!

Solid debut for the Pretender class.

So that's the main story that I can access cleared. I was curious how they were going to handle things with the somewhat confusing release messaging they had in the announcement stream. But does look like Part 1 is here, Part 2 coming in less than a couple weeks, and part 3...maybe July?

Also, have to say I like that they are pushing themselves a bit more in the game. Trying to get more scenes of actual battles using the in-game sprites instead of having "fights" happening with the still images at the forefront. Only so much they can do with the FGO engine, but they are at least adding to the entertainment.

I hated that lion man at first, but by the end I felt sorry for him as I did for those two goblin-like bash brothers. Mash proved once again she's a bundle of sunshine. But man, the whole deal with that place was depressing, so much death and dramatic twists.

On a more funnier note, seeing even someone like Da Vinci get lured into the Dracae tricks made me chuckle. Oh, and the "SOLD OUT" sign, lol.

Permanent. It's the new "thing" being brought with Ordeal Call, similar to the grails and Fou paws and command codes in the past.

Extra isn't an option yet, as far as I'm aware. I'm personally going to hold off for the time being until we get a proper translation of the various pathways and get a feel for how generous the new dust stuff is in events and the like, since otherwise you can only get 30 per day (10 per quest, quests need a new stamina thing that only regenerates at 3 per daily login, cap of 9).

Otherwise, I'll probably personally go Lancer to make my Ereshkigal even stronger, though I'd really prefer to do Extra if it opens soon to boost Draco and Sitonai (my primary boss killers).
