No one watched it? I'm thinking of trying it out, but I'd have to drop a show I'm watching because there's just too much (prime candidate if Ranking of Kings). Apparently it'll be two cours and cover the entire manga.

This feels like if Ancient Magus Bride and Tales of the Outcasts had a baby...and I am here for it
![]() The OP is quite solid focusing on the trials and tribulations of our royal couple in a world balanced between humans and humanoid animals as they try to make a life together and keep the kingdom going ![]() It's funny to see Satoshi Hino and Kana Hanazawa paired together as love interests instead of siblings...and Hino is using his typical, serious, Ainz-esque voice befitting being a king of animals while Saphiri plays to Hanzawa's sassy and cute strengths ![]() It's really rough what happened to Saphiri with her family. It's any wonder she still seems as caring and compassionate as she is, even if it obviously traumatized her. I wonder how her sister felt about her though ![]() Saphiri is such a free-spirit and bundle of enthusiasm that I can only imagine what this kingdom is in for with her as queen ![]() So the long, dark-haired, character was Leonhart's human form, making him half human! I'm now really curious about his backstory. But I guess now that means he and Saphiri have a practical way of consummating their relationship ![]() The ED is really nice and atmospheric! But I'm just here for the promise that our king and queen will eventually lock lips ![]()

I watched it and I really liked it. The heroine's personality is very different from what I imagined, I thought she'd be more of a helpless damsel in distress. Instead she's pretty sassy and didn't hesitate a single second to stand up to the beasts around her. This actually reminded me more of Sleepy Princess than the Ancient Magus Bride, if it were taken more seriously.
Twist with the King was surprising and definitely made me interested in learning more about him.

Figures Sari isn't the type of Heroine to want to sit back and let her man do all the work for her sake, though of course Cy and Clops are incapable of preventing her from going anywhere
![]() The artificial roses really liven up Leonharts' bedroom. And his true name is something private between the two lovers, which makes it even more intimate ![]() I see Anubis is probably going to be the toughest opponent for Sariphi to win over ![]() It's interesting seeing the divisions and discriminations between animal races...though they all collectively agree they hate and look down on humans, which kind of puts Sari in a tight spot. But she knows how to break the ice and put herself out there, though Leo's stern glare helps a lot ![]() What castle is complete without it's cooking staff? The tougher the better! Though the head chef being named "Todd" kind of threw me for a loop ![]() I guess things worked out for the best. Leo saw through the ploy to humilitate Sari (and even got a lick in on her to boot!) and Sari got to show off her impact as a future queen in promoting mercy and helping calm Leo down ![]() Find a man who will take you up on a ride across the sky in his Great Beast to help you feel better, because he needs you to make him feel truly happy and like a full person ![]() I guess that counts as their first kiss? Even though she just kissed his nose? I guess they're saving the lips for when Leonhart is in his human form ![]()

I'm just glad that there wasn't any issue of him actually killing and eating people. Much as that would have made things interesting, I think it would have been a bit too tough to get invested. I mean great the main girl would survive no matter what, but the pile of corpses would have been less fun.
Instead it was a nice reveal that he was bleeding himself to cover things up. Good on him. Can say what he wants, but I approve of that strategy. Dealing with the realities of his job in the best way he could. Things may not have worked out smoothly, but I think the banquet wasn't that much of a disaster. She put in good effort on the floor there and also did stop anyone from being...executed. Even if everyone doesn't immediately accept her, I think that was a good step towards a better future. Also I wonder why they didn't just call Gwiber a summoned beast. I guess being bright white makes holy beast not seem totally wrong, but he also definitely summons it ![]()

I guess if Sari is going to be their queen, she's got to learn about the land and culture...even if it's a lot for a young girl to be expected to take in at once. Anubis being the teacher probably doesn't help
![]() I just love the idea that Leo just has to send Anubis away for a day just so he and Sari can get some nice one-on-one time. Their first shopping date together in fact! Even got an "I love you" From Sariphi ![]() Sariphi looks adorable in that costume! And Leonhart...looks like someone you don't want to mess with, but I guess it's hard to hide that ![]() I guess it wouldn't be a date episode in an anime without them having to take care of a lost child...too bad once they find the mother Sari is exposed and all the animals turn on her like she's a monster, just for being human. Though Sari recognizes it goes both ways and humans think the same way as monsters. They're really not different at all ![]() I guess the land wasn't made for humans living there, so the miasma ends up making Sari sick and leaving Leo with no choice but to take her to human doctors to get treated. And Sari, already self-conscious that she causes the king nothing but trouble, feels like she's been abandoned and has no future with the man she loves ![]() Of course Sari is the type who puts in the work and tries not to dwell on things, even becoming a super cute and effective assistant to the doctor and wife who took care of her, to the point that they seem poised to adopt her. And then people start suspecting she's an escaped sacrifice which makes the whole town turn on her and the couple send her away, because I guess they think her escaping means she screwed over the fragile peace between the humans and beasts? Either way, human or beast, it feels like no one will accept Sari ![]() Then in comes Leonhart! Who never actually abandoned her, he's just stuck in human form when he's in the human world so he had to make an effort to find her again...and put a ring on it, because with a ring made from ambrosia Sari can live with the miasma! And it all works out because now she has a wedding ring she'll never take off! And capping it off with another kiss between the Sacrificial Princess & The King of Beasts ![]()
