Some of the things he'd said were indeed creepy, but I can't help but notice a bit of double standard. The moment he started talking about simply reading the books that she'd read, they immediately got super creeped out, but I've seen stories where a guy reading what another girl reads or even deliberately reading what he thinks the girl will read so she'll see his name on the library cards is seen as super romantic. If they'd started to react that way after he'd talked a bit, sure I'd understand, but them reacting so quick in revulsion to an act that would be seen as sweet from a more attractive boy is just a little...

I'm not sure why they'd choose to translate "Kuro" as Ink. Not all Ink is black.

He said he's showing up to the library because Soketto used to frequent the place. He made it pretty transparent that he's stalking her. |

It's kind of nice that the Neet has such a bright future ahead of him. Even if he didn't realize it from that fortune telling incident. Ironically the stalker has a great chance. Mostly since she just thought he hated her and had a vendetta against her. Great misunderstanding for his sake
![]() Also yeah the translation choice was odd. Just go with "Kuro". Ink is just an odd choice.

Still doesn't pull away from what other men have done and even admitted to doing that were taken as "charming". "I go to the place my crush likes to visit and try to read the books she enjoys reading". I can't count the number of heroes who say something along those lines and are seen as romantic and sweet for it, so why should that on its own warrant such disgust and fear from all the girls that heard it? Again note that they immediately became disgusted the very moment he said that, prior to any obsessive details about her literary taste and well before he'd mentioned following her to other places or other plans.

I know Yunyun is often kind of passive and depressed but she's so bummed even Megumin can pick up on it
![]() I love how Megumin's vision of her future demon king-slaying party had variants of Kazuma, Darkness, and Aqua but the party is not going to end up anywhere near as clean cut and professional as Megumin hopes...though who knows, maybe she will become a demon king ![]() It definitely checks out that this village would store a lot of dangerous beings and weapons just for the sake of how cool it is for them to have all that stuff in their village ![]() I guess there's something to be said that Megumin will crib food off of Yunyun but she'd never take money from her...and she's offended that anybody would! Not that that means she cares about Yunyun as a friend of course, she just doesn't want anybody bothering her rival ![]() Were the girls really trying to make money off of Yunyun by preying on how nice she is? Is Funifura's brother actually sick? They never admitted they lied about it, though they seemed a little guilty. Maybe he was sick but they weren't going to use all the money for the medicine ![]() I didn't have Megumin choking a Duck...I mean, Duxion on my bucket list for this show but she got to level up for it so...good ![]() I guess there's the rub between Megumin and Yunyun. Megumin plans to leave to adventure soon and master Explosion magic (though it sounds like she'll stick around after graduating to make at least some money) while Yunyun wants them to graduate together and be together. They're both silly and awkward girls, but they care about each other...even if they also fight each other. But hey, Yunyun finally won! Not that Megumin will 100% admit it ![]() Oh. I guess all that talk about the Dark Dog's seal weakening wasn't just for show as a whole swarm of monsters come to the village and Megumin is desperate to find poor Komekko ![]()

I can't believe we're already 4 episodes in and still haven't had Megumin use Explosion.
Or rather, I can't believe we're at an almost 1:1 episode to chapter pace for a series with 20 chapters and, as far as I'm aware, only one cour of episodes. |

That was a pretty heartwarming story, if you ignore the poor duxions getting slaughtered. I mostly remembered Megumin being a bitch to Yunyun in the main story (but my memories of it are pretty vague) so I was surprised to see her go to such length for her. She'd never admit but she does care about her.
I do think Funifura and the other girl were trying to exploit Yunyun, since they talked about raising funds yet didn't tell anyone else about it.

It was nice to focus a bit on the bond between Megumin and Yunyun. They are a pair of idiots, but it's still nice. Megumin can't help herself though. When easy exp is walking by...that's about how it goes. The girl has her goals, her dreams, and she'll chase after them as hard as she can. The downside is that she can be really tsundere around Yunyun. She'll go to serious lengths to get her money back, but can't admit how she feels.
Ironically the duxion she just killed probably will get her enough points to learn explosion magic just in time for a crisis like the one unfolding... The money thing is definitely...eh. It'd be a bit nice to know exactly what they were really after with extorting money from Yunyun. But maybe there wasn't anything. Might have just been a "we can so we will" sort of deal. They know Yunyun is the kind of lonely girl that can be pressured and so they went ahead to do so. That they still had the money kind of reflects that. If it was for medicine they wouldn't have waited and clearly they weren't all that interested in the medicine they were given. One thing I'm fine with is Megumin picking a fight to defend her intentions. She's made her call on what magic she wants to learn and that's that. It's fine to give differing views, but call a person an idiot and you'll get that sort of reaction. Makes sense she lost though. Megumin is pretty good at winning when she's got a level head and/or picking fights she knows she can win.

Like Megumin said, she doesn't care if they were telling the truth or not, because what bothered her was that they only cared about Yunyun's status. Also to be fair, Megumin is as guilty of extortion as they are. The "contests" that they do are rarely ever fair since Megumin decides what they do, and she always demands food from Yunyun. You can argue that Megumin does it out of necessity since her family is poor, and that she never asks for money, but it's still extortion. |
