Lists of Eroge/Galge Anime conversions & of such wishlists
Recently, there has been a rising trend on anime that are based on eroge and galge.
kj1980 clarification: eroge = games with ero content (please refrain from using the ancient term "H") galge = games with no ero content Happiness! and Kyo-Ani's Kanon are two of the most recent entries that fits into the above said criteria. In addition, there have been several direct-from-doujin success stories such as Tsukihime (doujin eroge) and Higurashi (doujin galge). Hence, I was wondering if anyone can compile a comprehesive list of all the anime that were originally based on an eroge/galge. Informational remarks such as whether or not the series were licensed or not, fansubbed or not, and wiki-type links to the various threads on this board would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, it would also be of my personal interest if one can list some of their wishlists of their favorite eroge/galge to be adapted into anime. Example: Eroge/galge Conversion List
Kanon Air Shuffle! Lamune Wind -a breath of heart- Higurashi no Naku Koroni Galaxy Angel Tsukihime Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Utawarerumono Personal list of eroge/galge I wish were made into anime (according to PhineasLucis) Kana Imouto Crescendo Private Nurse Gimai Hitomi Majipuri Heart De Roommate Last edited by kj1980; 2006-12-06 at 04:38. Reason: ugh, serious misunderstanding of the usage term. Post editted for clarity. |

Green Green, Gakuen Heaven, Fate/Stay Night and Disagaea are all licensed.
You've also forgotten Final Approach. Also there was a non-ecchi dating-sim type game released for the Ai Yori Aoshi* anime/manga. EDIT: Also if you're including doujin games, the list is going to get out of hand fast - I've seen School Rumble and Please Twins ones, and I've never even looked. I would imagine that any reasonably succesful harem setup is probably going to end up with at least one doujin game.

Also, Higurashi is not an eroge, its a doujin game. There is a huge difference. |

Also, I missed the part about the wishlist - we had a thread like this before and I said then that I wanted a non-ero type game for Magikano. The gameplay gimmick would be such that whenever you started to go down a girl's path, the other girls would conspire to pull her down. The strategy would be to start working on every girl EXCEPT the one you want to be with, leaving her choices for last - once she's eliminated all the other contenders.

The game I really want an anime of is MuvLuv Alt. Making one of both games would be hoping for too much I guess.
Watching the Routes trailer at Leaf/Aquaplus made wanting a Routes anime. The animation in it really got the design right. Besides you can't get too much Satsuki. Then I think Lost Child could be kind of interesting. Then again, those two are anything but likely candidates. |

I haven't encountered yet anime made after eroge/galge that gives you even near experience of playing actual game, not even more quality stuff like Air. Or in other words imho 90% of those conversions are not much more than garbage.
That said, maybe I'd like to see decent adaptation of Symphonic Rain, just not by Gonzo ^^; |

I don't know much myself, but I guess this list done by kj a few years ago might be a good starting point...

that will be: Ever 17 (a bit difficult due to the plot ) Muvluv series Kazoku Keikaku / the family project Red -aka- (using original music!)

I thought that Leaf's "Tenshi no inai 12-gatsu" would make a good anime drama.
I would also like a Muvluv anime which bashes and spoofs its predecessor Kiminozo almost the same way the two Comic Party anime ridiculed To Heart.

My unofficial Eroge/Galge Hall of Fame: (from kj1980's list)
1999 - To Heart 2003 - D. C. ~ Da Capo 2003 - Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 2005 - AIR TV 2006 - Canvas2 - Niji iro no Sketch Probably a few I missed. The list looks incomplete to me. Let's see if Kanon 2006 makes this list. |

Besides those old classics from the 90s and some relatively recent releases, most of the really popular ones from the past few years have already been covered. kj's wishlist above contains pretty much all the big ones left.
There are some games that deserves to be animated as well, but their length makes it difficult (Key's Planetarian, Stage Nana's narcissu, etc.). Personally, I think a Touhou-series anime would be the most awesome thing ever. |

I haven't had much experience (!) with galge as much as some of the other members, but I do have an idea of what I'd like to see:
MuvLuv: The fact that it's related to KGNE, spoof Kana: First title I've ever completed CLANNAD: 'Cause of Key ONE: Key

I think an animation of AYAKASHI (by CROSSNET / APRICOT) would almost definitely attract many people. Especially now when the anime bubble looks like it's about to burst (69 new TV series next spring) we need to see more compromises made that won't just attract the already established fanbases. I think AYAKASHI has such a story that would accomplish this task well (just like fate/stay night did). Anyway, I think it has a great story for an animation.
The other game from my wish list (it is a really selfish wish though) was already fulfilled two weeks ago. UNISON-SHIFT's Nanatsuiro★Drops. |

Then again, if it's down to that, it's probably not going to make much money = low chance of being animated. That's the number for this year's (2006's) spring lineup. The rumor(emphasis) is that the number will be similar for next year's spring lineup. I'd imagine the game's scale would make it incredibly difficult to animate, especially if the company is trying to stay faithful to the original game, like what Kyoani is doing with AIR and Kanon. After all, we're not talking about "a Summer/Winter tale" here, CLANNAD's story lasts through several eras of the main characters' lives. It won't be easy to balance that main story with the numerous heroines/subcharacters' routes that occur during the school life era. |

That's good news. Kanon 2006 is great, but I hate it how Yuuichi dominates ALL of the girls so far =/
