And while I agree with some of the favorable statements made about this show, I do think it's getting lauded a bit too much because it has glaring flaws that it got rightly chewed out for after the first episode and it has yet to actually do something truly fabulous.

I'd have to say it has a lot to do with the pacing. It is considerably slower than other series that come to mind, which actually has me worried about how much faithful it will be to it's source and how they'll be able to have a satisfactory finish in such a short amount of eps. As we all know, a race isn't a race until you've ran and finished it

I have been wondering why our main character, Kyouhei, has not attached himself to a Kamisama Doll yet. Well, I guess this ultimate one, Amateratsu, will be Kyouhei's. It felt like the series is taking its time to give Kyouhei the counterpart he needs to be on even footing with everyone.

Right now, it seems like he is standing up to everyone, but does not have any power to back it up. I am surprised that someone hasn't already squashed him for angering them. It seems like everyone just tolerates what he does, which is strange.

But what has Kyohei even done to make anyone want to "squash" him? Up till now, the only person that has had any problem with him is Aki, and afaik, that guy wants to be "squashed" by Kyohei instead.

Just catched up to this series since I had already read whatever has been released from the manga. There are a few differences here and there which makes me think they will be going the original route. But I like what I've seen so far so it doesn't really bother me. Thumbs up.

edit: After reading through the thread my impression is that people tend to complain too much whenever the pace slows to anything that allows the character to take a breather. God forbid if we happen to see the characters eating or having normal interactions. Meh.

Personally I enjoyed early ep 3 as much as the rest of the series. ;p

That's correct. It's just that, now I get to see a clearer view of them, and Utao's face is just as wild as I thought it'd be

Anyways, I make wonders as to what Utao's doing in that scan, what with the way she's dressed. If that's her training, I wouldn't mind seeing more of that

IIRC, he used to be a Seki, and Kukuri used to be his Kakashi, but due to some event he quit being a Seki, and thus no longer has a Kakashi.

Well said. On top of that, I like it for the sibling relationship between Kyouhei and Utao, the drama/rivalry between Kyouhei and Aki, and of course Utao herself.

One nitpick I have about this anime is the number of coincidences revolving around Kuuko. First, she is a friend of Hibino. It just happens that she happens to get herself in danger when Utao is training with Kukuri. After that, she just happens to come upon Aki and Koushirou fighting. Honestly, it just got contrived after the second time.

Hibino is a decent character and I can't dislike her, but her typical breast size goes way too far above my personal cut-off point (which is around E-cup). I say typical because the animators can't decide what size they actually are; they seemed merely bigger than average in the bathroom scene but in most other places they were twice as big as her head.
