Maaaan...so many twists, I don't know what to think anymore. Every time I think I've gotten what's gonna happen in the plot, it gets turned upside down.

At least I saw Meido's death flags a mile away this ep *salute*

Beat me. Lascall handed the books to Colio (Shiron), Volken (a "meat" - Olivia's secret admirer ) and Enrique (Noloty)... If I go for a romantic interpretation, where Lascall is said to Fed-Ex the wish of the dead girls, Colio/Enrique's cases work fine although the Volken's case doesn't. Well, the feelings of "meat" were delivered to Olivia indirectly, though (Is there any chance where Volken's book is delivered to Mirepoch if the gender doesn't matter?). Also, if I go for a political interpretation, he/she/it seems to take a different side of the Governor the Armed Librarian in Volken's case and in Colio/Enrique's case, respectively.

Besides Lascall's supernatural nature, this is why I'm inclined to call Lascall it...Lascall doesn't seem to have motivations which can be understandable by humans at the moment, at least. I almost began to think Lascall is there to keep the story going. I hope this will be something to do with bigger secrets.

Also, they make Yukizona weaker. In the novel, Yuri and he are not in the Library. They are in an embassy of a country. Just two of them have to face the army of the whole country. And the sibling are able to stall them from attacking the Library.

The whole ep is not exciting enough. The war will be ended in the next arc. And someone will die but this is not the end of this series. The real deal is coming.
I haven't read the novel but I think the anime staff is concentrating on human drama and story-telling while sacrificing action scenes. I know the magic battle would be spectacular in anime but, if they spent their limited time on that, they wouldn't have time to keep the story consistent, which would make this series much shallower, too. Even so, considering the volume of the books, I wonder if the staff manages to finish the story, at least, in a comprehensible manner. However, I guess I began to copy your concerns about this issue from the beginning.

Hah i see.Given what happened in the last episode it turns out he's actually doing more in the anime, that's just sad.

What else...liked this episode, shame that Ireia kicked the bucket. And right when i was about to think that this episode didn't have any significant twist, that Arklit-lizard appears.

The author is protective of hamy. Any1 going against her = death.
Ireia ask about hamy past and then her death flag up.

There was prob more than 1 bomb in that crowd and she was surrounding. The scream is a hint. Mirepoc commenting cemented it. She's dead.

See... this ep just proves that Noloty shouldn't have been killed.

Now hopefully next ep will explain how that boy became a lizard filled with Cerulean Death.

I just finished watching up the current episode via marathon and I must admit I really enjoy it so far. I was kind of dumbfounded that they killed off Noloty and Volken back to back. Why get rid of two if not the only "pure" characters? Especially Noloty. She was by far a joy to watch whenever she had the screen time. Volken left a huge void between the episodes where he "betrays" and his arc. I read in this thread that Hamyuts destroys his book. I don't recall her doing that unless I missed it along the way or it was in the novels. As for Hamyuts, the lack of development in her character didn't help the fact that she was a person itching for a fight every second, making her feel somewhat lacking. She did show some rather touching scenes though it is hard to tell if it means anything to her. But like a previous poster said, this series is quite a treat. I will still have to say that the Colio/Shiron arc was by far the best one, because of Shiron herself and the interaction between the two. Amazing! :P

I also do have a few questions in particular. It seemed Colio would have played a bigger role but I was wrong about that but Hamyuts name drops Colio a few times. Is there a reason for it or was it just for kicks and giggles? As for Fhotona, are we going to be told his fate because it seems he just up and disappeared sometime after Hamyuts destroys Vend Ruga at the fortress? He seemed like a decent character.

The secret about Heaven and the Tree will be foreshadowed in the next episode (23).
Which means that they are skipping vol.7 and covering the finale of vol.8 or beginning of vol.9

Unless of course, they will start vol.7 in ep.24

But I don't know what they are thinking.

We got to see chocoli in the next episode and it seems Hamyuts holds a grudge against her, we will see why.

hello, i was a new comer. i from indonesian so, sorry if my english bad. As a anime lover i want to share my opinion or question. This topic about bantorra. This anime make me a little confuse. Before noloty act i have no real favorite char (maybe enlike) now i'ts noloty (too late to realize). I watch episode 22 and see three important char dead. About noloty act maybe she's naive but she so kind, and will be a great wife, i wan't to read the novel but i can't, does anyone already read the novel? is same story in the novel with anime? or totally different. in this episode noloty die for nothing, the kid are dead too and many of people dead,it's same like enlike said: the worst is he lives without noloty, army stop the attack some people save but i'ts only the begining, happy for bantorra they even don't care about the girl who save them from dead (like the girl still alive). did the man who kill noloty also die? no scene where he die, when i watch episode 20 in the photo noloty dead in grassy place but in the episode 22 dead in different (maybe they move her body or change her dead position far from the kid LOL). Now i'ts only bad person left (few good people), to make story even more exciting they must die badly. I do not think three important char die so son, does anyone see mysterious person who stands above the top of the building in the opening? if someone already read the novel please share (thanx).

Not a bad episode, though it looked kinda low-budget compared to the previous one.

The final part of episode made me go WTF though,in the usual Bantorra style.

These last few eps makes me feel this show is one of the better novel conversions out there. My personal faves still being to To Aru series though.

While the -gatari series seems to struggle mightily with the meta-jokes of nisiosin and the Baccano/Durarara tends to do the whole 'we're weird for being weirdness-sakes' kind of thing, though Bantorra has a lot of weird and silly things going on for it, for some reason the way the story is told is a lot easier to delve into the sinister world of Bantorra.

Kinda hard to pinpoint what I'm feeling, but man I'm grateful for the anime conversion of this series.

@Shiroth: She would have if she hadn't been fatigued and at her limits from all the fighting.
Also she was more or less caught by surprise.
It is sure that the novel is better.

Yes, maid granny was dead because she was fatigued.

Emotional attachment is the key of characterization. So, you will laugh when they laugh, cry when they cry and depress when they die. That's why I said Yamagata-san is good. He did a great job in the novel.

Lascall has some secrets which haven't shown yet. Those secrets make me confused.

The difference of media is understandable. Still, both action scenes and story telling scenes are weaker in the anime than in the novel. These fights in Volume 6 made my blood boil. I didn't get this feeling in the anime.

However, as I said before, I should be glad that the series is animated and I shouldn't make any complaint.

Good guys are martyrs. They died for what they believed. Bad guys still live in this hell.
The lack of development in Hamyuts' character because the only character development she has is in volume 10.

Remember Colio. He is the truth hero. He has nothing (ability, memory, future...) but love.
Spoiler for On the contrary,:

Maybe they will show Fhotona's end. I don't know.
Spoiler for Fhotona:

Okay, enough for replies.
Now ep 22,
Still I didn't feel excited with it. It was touching but not exciting.
Are the production team lack of experience in doing action scenes?
or the budget is so limited?

Spoiler for The Library and the Church:

Volume 1 is linked to volume 5, Silver Smoke, Colio, Volken, Olivia.
Volume 2 is linked to volume 6, Noloty and Enrique.
Volume 3 is linked to volume 6, Mokkania and Arkit.
Volume 4 is linked to volume 1, Mirepoc and Lascall, Cigal and Alme' past.
These are the major links and there are a lot of minor links (e.g.Winkeny and his mother)
Everything are connected.

People think this series depressing, espeically in the recent eps.
But i can tell you, this is nothing compared to the upcoming stories.
All pure minds are gone, what should you expect?
From now on, the stories are 4Ds - dark, desperate, depressing and despairing.

I really liked this weeks episode. You can really feel that its getting towards the end.

Anyway, a few things about hamy confused me;

1. killing always ment a lot of fun for her which suddenly changed as soon as the war came (remeber her asking the old chick wether she was smiling...). Why? Realizing it is time for "it", the "real deal"?

2. "if you kill me, you might save the world" (somewhat like this) was given as a hint in an earlier episode. I think in the current episode they refered to it! Hamy is trying to become a book (die) to do what? Save the world? Maybe. But that probalby isnt her goal at all. She is just to selfish for that.

My personal theory is that the whole becoming a book thing, for hamy, has something to do with the tree, or whatever it really is. As the whole series is based on "what you see is what you get" meaning all the character themselfes dont have many twist, I believe that if she dies, she might save the world indeed but it also means that Hamy gets what she really wants. And she doenst care about the world really...

Hamy has sort of battle with the girl we have seen in the trailer of the next episode and it probably has something to do with heaven. Maybe its just about wether hamy can get there or not?

May it be wrong or right, at least I have my theory

Kemal, you are very welcome the respond
