Slash Dog IS that person. That preview is for the web novel SLASH/DOG, not for DxD. It was just included there since it will also be released on June 20, the same day as Volume 18, IIRC.

The new work of Ishibumi will feature Slash Dog/Tobio Ikuse as the MC and the story will take place more or less on the DxD universe. A 13-year old Vali will even make an appearance there.

Most probably. SLASH/DOG will be a more serious ln compared to DxD but Ishibumi said that he will still insert something funny/sexy here in there.

Didn't he always tend to act as a mediator of god? What I mean is that the god that died was him who was acting as a mediator of his will or smth. A bit off-topic, but it reminds me of SMT in that he was part of great will IIRC

Ah I see, I thought it was for DxD. Looking at Canis Lykaon kanji writing (黒刃の狗神) maybe it's more simple than I thought. Maybe it's just saying that the false god is the dog

@Gary From what we have seen in the Novels. The minimum requirement to use the Dragon Gate is two Dragons, seen in Volume 14 where Ddraig and Vritra were needed to summon Grendel (Euclid wanted Saji to go with them even though he doesn't have anything to do with the kidnapped ones and the only ones needed are the ORC members). Although this theory about the Dragon Gate isn't that secure.

So, they would need to bring another one to Heaven for that to work. Also even though Grendel is in Heaven, he's still a soul. He still needs a body.
