I just want to add this in there and maybe it is just me but I do not think Kefla and Goku are actually trying to win and throw each other out of the ring, I think it's more of a training session between teacher and student and if it came down to it, would save each other from falling, Had Kefla not fused at the last moment I am sure Goku would have Instant_Trans'd and caught her. and I can see them teaming up against Jiren for the final fight.

nah kefla said that it was a competition, before goku went UI she was clearly going to eliminate him.

Hmm, come to think about it, our heroes don't seem to have had that much success in Super

Battle of Gods arc: Goku loses to Beerus, only survive because Beerus spares them
Ressurection F: Defeated Frieza, though for a battle they should have easily won, it was ugly as hell and almost resulted in failure. Goku gets rekt by a ray gun and Vegeta drops the ball due to taking too long. In any case, they only survive thanks to Whis and Beerus's whim again.
Champa Arc: Goku loses to Hit, Hit throws match so they can win.
Zamasu Arc: The future timeline is completely lost.

But I suppose that didn't start here. Goku never defeated any of the main villains in Z on his own either, in fact losing to two of them, meaning he only gets credited for beating Frieza (again!)and Buu. But in those cases, at least his "side" won though.

So we actually had a particularly triumphant success for a while, except for minor battles as well as the contuing narrative that our main saiyans are still relatively small in the grand scheme of things.

It just won't be the same anymore when Hiromi Tsuru passed away. Still, DBS will continue anyway.

This episode is pretty good despite reusing some attacks. That last one with Goku using Kamehameha against Kefla was so cool.
