Well there is solar charger for example. And camera, videos + couple of apps would make enoguh of supreme machine to give you few hundreds of milion dollars were you to sell it to the ruler.

The chronological order is not like that

More Laputa (watch form) were produced only later in the story. The weight problem was improved but new limitations were discovered. So yes, some girls came to the future later and met his family.
