I'd go for a retry to see what's good and what's bad. If I like the first/second one, then I ditch the other. Suggestion though... I just would prefer if you toned down the Shirley!evil thing...

Kallen did kill all those people, but that was war. Kallen is strong enough to know what she is doing was for Japan... She probably wanted to believe what that, as well.

The sadistic meter ie currently hindering the story meter. Fix plz? Bonzo-sama?

Shirley is also the chick who was wanting to forgive everyone. I think it's reasonable she target Kallen, considering everything, but it's a little bit much to scare the crap out of her like that.

But other way around, it would make sense for Shirley to want Kallen to confront all of that, so.

This. She forgave Lelouch for everything he ended up putting her through. She was one of the few Messiah figures of the show.

I had a bit of a hard time understanding that she's morphing into the Guren's form. Have you tried replacing pieces of her skin with torn bits of the Guren's armour and replacing her right hand with a bony "undead" version of the Guren's radiation claw? That would make it a bit more obvious to the reader.

Kallen: That-that arm--how are you--?

Shirley(?): Yes, your favourite slayer's tool. Every moment in here is one where those YOU and HE killed scream for vengeance. You could have made it easy for them.
