yeah, I thought Kirie's hair was brown or something similar too, but it is indeed blonde in canon, check the manga vol 4 cover

I see quite a few of people are (understandably) not keen on Touta as the MC.
But I actually feel he is more or less different from a typical shounen protagonist

yeah, he still carries that troupe of "young boy with a dream", but have you notice that right in the 1st ep, he says straight to Yukihime (Eva) that being immortal ain't so bad if he can be with her.

That is, IMO, is quite a breadth of fresh air. A young lad that actually places some importance in his relationship other than his "dream"? Aw hell naw

Yeah, typical shounen protagonist that are chasing after a dream will, at best, treat others as friends. Sometimes not even noticing other character's feelings.
This used to be a common thing in sports anime/manga, where even the "main girl" that likes the protagonist doesn't want to get in the way of his dream.
But lately, that has been seen in other genres, such as adventure/fantasy types.

UQ Holder though, is done by Akamatsu, expect great things

Eva had to watch all her friends die/disappear due to her being an immortal. Eva reflecting how she was always alone due to being an immortal. It's a sad opening sequence. Flash forward 80 years to her new life....

...Odd that you should mention that... But no, in this case it's just a timeskip. Despite her better judgement Evangeline became friends with a bunch of (mostly) mortal people who then passed out of her life over the course of 80 years, leaving her yet again alone and having lost the people she'd formed bonds with.

It was a 80 year time jump of early chapter of Negima (manga) to her current time period (the future).

Eva was reminiscing (or more like dreaming) about the past when she was a just a happy immortal living in the school and having fun where Negi blows ppls cloth off with a sneeze. (the manga originally started out as sort of Love Hina style of Slice-of-Life, it wasn't until the mid of manga when they change it to Battle Action style cause ppls got bored of Romantic Comedy.

Yeah. The story as far as I know was that, after Love Hina, he was pigeonholed as The Harem Manga Guy by his publishers, so he pushed Negima as a harem manga while having every intention to transition to what he really wanted to do later.
