Sasuke has a cell phone. For the past 10 years he Never used it to contact his wife and child, but only Naruto.

We don't know if he has never contacted them. All that has been stated is the they haven't seen each other in her memory. I'm calling her birth being kept a big secret is to protect her and the village has screwed up again by being too secretive.

Once upon a time Sasuke was an international criminal after all. He may be "forgiven" thanks to Naruto's intervention, but I don't think he's been forgotten. His daughter would be quite a target for those trying to get to him. Though if they really wanted to hide her they wouldn't of made the fact that Sarada is an Uchiha known but meh, Konoha has made poor decisions before.

Its pretty heavily implied. Sarada doesn't seem to know anything about her father which would imply they never talk. Also If he did occasionally call she'd have no need to look for him; she could just wait for the next call or send him a message.

Also if they were trying to protect her because of her relation to sasuke, the best thing they could have done was have her use Sakura's last name instead of her father's. Atleast then she'd be totally off enemy radar until she got her sharigan. Cause really, if she's a uchiha there is literally only one person she could be the child of.


Though really i don't think there is ANY excuse i will accept that will redeem Sasuke. By the end of the series my hatred for his character was too high; he'd have an uphill battle just redeeming himself for his PAST actions. Adding on the fresh new sin of deadbeat parenting is like the last straw. Step 1 of redeeming yourself is to stop screwing up. Contrast this with say Naruto... Naruto has some parenting troubles but i'm fine with it; he's an overall good guy so not being a perfect parent just gives him some flaws to keep him from being obnoxiously perfect. It weighs against naruto, but given his history of good behavior and that he is trying to make things work it balances out to a positive. For Sasuke, his parenting flaws get added onto all of his past BS; even if he's trying to do something good it all balances out to a negative.


On the plus side, Sarada atleast is an interesting enough character in her own right, and i do find the mystery about her possible connection to Karin interesting, so there is something to look forward too... its just unfortunate that we can't have a story about her without Sasuke; frankly i wish i could just forget about the guy.
