Really strong shades of Evangeline's fight with Setsuna during the Mahora arc in Negima for me. Leo's a much weaker character, of course, but the whole idea of the strong worldwise master teasing the really serious one and making her face the conflict between her feelings and duty is the same. However thematically it doesn't really work as well. Still, Leo's posturing when she was baiting Eclair into taking her challenge was fun.
Also, gotta ask, was I the only one who felt like there was a bit of lesbian subtext in Leo's offer at the end? About how her castle is women only so she understand women really well and Eclair should definitely come by to, uh, discuss love in private?

I can see Cinque in the role of a demon king at the back row. Quote:

But Gaul and Leon never seem to be close at all- if anything they're borderline formal with each other. Quote:

Well was nice to have that episode just focus down on Eclair. Didn't think she'd be shrugging off that kiss from the previous episode after all. Pretty much needed an event this crazy to push her into taking that step forward and not just over-thinking everything. Though certainly a rough method having Leo beat her down like that. But at the same time totally worth seeing her pull out the win with the dual wielding.
With Cinque that dense not going to break through. But at the very least she won't be holding herself back. Eclair is officially in the game. Though with Cinque that dense she really will have to be blunt to get through to him.

I'm surprised, but not at all disappointed at how much screen time Eclair is getting, even with such a rapidly expanding cast. I think I joked after the first episode that we'd probably never see her again outside of some action scenes.
While I support an eventual Milhi end, I demand a dozen more seasons of Sinclair ship teasing first. It's just too cute. By the way, I'm amused to see the continuation of the first season's gag where Yukikaze and Rico totally ship Sinclair: |

Besides, Leo isn't that nice. She likes shaming Eclair every chance she gets.

I dunno about Leo being a lesbian, but I could see her being gay. Not that I think they actually hinted at her being gay at that part of the episode. I'd think they'd make a hint like that stand out more.
I wonder who else in the cast could be gay. Callaway Risler is a foppish pretty boy, so that gets some blips on the gaydar, and Framboise Charley sets off my gaydar a bit. Perhaps this guy, too. http://www.anime-planet.com/images/c...soni_27272.jpg Maybe it is their attire. Oh, and Couverte wants to marry Becky. But she is too young for Becky! Wait, she is too young for anything like that. She has to wait to be an adult before having complicated relationships.
