Spoiler for reason:

If othinus is killed it will bring a change in mentality in touma.
And in consequence the leader of the magic side will lose a valuable pawn

We are talking about magic side united against science side and not the goals of the leader.

Since its clear as day that magic side can topple down science side in one sided slaughter if every big wigs in magic side just set aside their individualistic goals and reason and bring on the big guns to destroy science side but since winning against science side isn't really their goal. They don't give a f*ck who wins.

BUT if their goal coincide with the others like what happen here with Roman, Angelican and Russan Orthodox sect. Its possible for them to unite if there is common enemy but the enemy is also from the magic side.

Pretty individualistic. Its not really a battle between science and magic but more like hero vs villain theme now.

I can't even imagine how will they fight the gods. The fight against Othinus is already a lost cost because I can't even say Touma win that fight.

And those gods even mock Aleister which we thought the last boss.

Sort of sums up how I feel. This is one of the reason why I didn't want the Gods thing to happen.

Well touma has been alway a pawn of the anglican church, that is the reason for index to be with him, the anglican church has manipulated touma sending him against the roman church in several occasions.
That is why I say is not a smart move to make him a enemy when he is such a good pawn, and let the door open for someone else to use him.

Perhaps this volume was to show the scale of the Kamijou Faction and his growing influence. Eventually the entire world will become his ally, thus giving him a fighting chance against the Gods and Aleister, unless Aleister also joins the Faction near the end of series.

Nonsense aside, I wonder if Kamijou has gained the GREMLIN members as neutral allies now that this whole bruhaha is over now.

A bit of correction on one of the spoilers. When the old man mummy told Aleister that "thing" is a failure, he could have also meant that Aleister's attempt to create Aiwass's body through science was a failure instead of Aiwass was a failure. So in this scenario he is merely mocking Aleister as incompetent instead of mocking both Aleister and Aiwass. Big improvement for Aleister(sarcasm).

this is actually depend, rather than hype, Othinus arc is the 1st 3 parter of the story, along with potentially best Index volume ever (NT9) as well as as tying directly with Touma character development ( this is the most important) so the hype is higher for Othinus and Will but since this is Othinus arc she get the attention. It more like it's depend on how Kamachi developher from now on.

I doubt any pairing can conceivably happen so long as the cult of Mikoto exists. Gonna have to wait until the very end of the series for something romantic to happen less the cult goes berserk over supposed BEST GIRL not winning.
