Very interesting. I've never noticed that until I read your post. However, these kanji characters are also used in the names of planets. Thus,

ooh.. neat! didn't notice that one

the naming pattern makes much more sense now... it's most likely that the characters really are named after the planets (since all the main characters are named after it) :3

Hello all, I'm new here and I just watched the first subbed episode of La Corda D'Oro and I loved it, but I can't seem to find any of the other episodes for download subbed. Does anyone know where I can find more episodes, or when they are going to come out? I would be extremely grateful for anyone's help!

so far, only 1 ep has been subbed in english... unless you would be interested in some chinese subs, available here

I've seen ep6 raw, and if it's the scene I'm thinking of, I thought it worked pretty well in the anime, too. As did their scene in the hallway the next day. I also enjoyed a couple of brief scenes between Hino and Fuyuumi. Episode 6 was the most harem-like episode yet, but the characters keep becoming more real and more individual, for me.

Thanks so much for the information, I have 2 through 4 of the episodes downloaded raw, and the fifth waiting to be downloaded. I can't wait for the subs though, I did take some Japanese, but my comprehension isn't that good yet.

I do love Hirara! He's sooo cute! But in the Manga where Ren-kun gets complimented by Hino and blushes? I just feel in love with the pairing. I so hope something developes between them, but I'd enjoy her with any of the guys so far really.

But that's just me, I have a thing for bad boy Bushionen with a marshmellow center, or a center that needs to be melted.......

Yeah, I think so too. I really like how the development of the characters was done (basing on the manga)... I find Hihara's seishun development(first time encountering love, something like that) really cute~ ^-^ But later on, we'll see more of Ren's background (and the reason for his really snobbish attitude), and see the deep side of his personality(a couple more episodes from now...)

While episode 5 was a suspenseful story, episode 6 seems to be an itroduction part to portray each character's personality, chiefly Hihara's. His innocent and somewhat puppish acts are priceless, though he's a bit too noisy. (I might hit him if I were standing near him.

yup yup, that plays a major part in the story... part of the "climax" and "resolution" part of this series, actually

just to continue on with the summary of ep6...

(my apologies for not being able to summarize that well... and also for my uncontrollable urge to put my comments side by side this summary >.>)

Tsuchiura and Tsukimori ends up sharing the same room, where they get into this discussion with regards to being serious with music... (Tsuchiura is part of the soccer club, and Tsukimori sort of tells him that he cannot handle being both in the soccer club and the concurs). Tsukimori mentions that he also said the same thing to Hino, and that the fact that she's the last place shows that ordinary students are indeed not worthy of becoming part of the competition. Tsuchiura became furious about this, and almost got into punching him.... yet controlled the urge to. Tsuchiura just regarded this criticism as a challenge, and was able to come up with the decision on joining the competition just so he could prove Tsukimori wrong.

Because of the tension between the two (the fact that both of them couldn't stand each other =_=), they asked Kanazawa-sensei to let them sleep in different rooms. Tsukimori ends up with Yunoki, and Tsuchiura ends up with Shimizu and Hihara.

Meanwhile, Hino, who's been diligently practicing, ended up having "body aches" due to overpractice ^^;; Hihara sees her, and offers her some sweets (i think it's strawberry yogurt), where she and Hihara eats them in their (Hihara, Tsuchiura and Shimizu) room with such bliss

After that, Tsuchiura tells Hihara that he's just going to sleep in the sofa, since he's just his kouhai. Hihara, who prefers to sleep in the sofa, ends up having a 'battle' with Tsuchiura to get the pillow for the sofa, which ends up being ripped because of the struggle. Hihara, who was about to tumble, was pulled by Hino to [supposedly] save him from falling, when Hihara ends up "on top" of her on the bed (with their face almost an inch close from each other). Hino was in shock, and Hihara was in a daze (o.o)... Hihara only snapped out of his daze when Tsuchiura helped him get up from his position, asking him how long he intends to stay like that... o_o Hino, who was still in quite a shock from what happened, decides to leave the room, telling them that "it's getting late already", as an excuse to escape from the uneasy situation she's in.

On the way to her room, Hino stumbles upon Tsukimori, who sees her red-flushed-almost-teary-eyed face. Yunoki then sees Tsukimori and asks what was up. Tsukimori tries to hide the fact that she saw Hino and tells Yunoki that there was nothing wrong. Yunoki seemed to have noticed that it was Hino who passed by, and tells Tsukimori about the conversation he had with Hino earlier that morning. Yunoki also tells him that perhaps she's some musical prodigy for her to have been able to play violin that well considering that she's only a beginner.

Hino, who's now in her room, recalls the earlier incident. She was blushing furiously as she recalled that Hihara was so close at that time, that she could already feel his breath, and thinks that "so THAT's what you call a GUY" (something like that.. >.>;; ) And then, we see Hihara panicking with much regret as to what he has done to Hino. And as honest as Hihara is, tells Tsuchiara about finding out how soft and fragrant girls are ^-^;;; Defending himself from what he said, Hihara follows up that comment he had with "what I'm trying to say it that, it's different from a guy", and Tsuchiura tells him that of course girls are different. Hihara goes into this inquisitive mode and asks Tsuchiura if he's gone out with a girl before (since Tsuchiura seems to be gave vast knowledge with regards to women^^:;; ). When Tsuchiura replies that it wasn't like that, Hihara follows it up by asking perhaps Tsuchiura is currently at that state (currently in the state of being in love perhaps), and perhaps that "present state" is with Hino? Of course, Tsuchiura denies that, and Hihara replies with an expression of relief (much to his own surprise

). Tsuchiara asks him to just forget about it and head off to sleep (although he himself is quite affected by it)

The next day, Hihara apologizes to Hino and their relationship goes back to normal... Hihara advises Hino to not push herself too hard, and to practice only in moderation. Tsukimori hears this, and comments that she has such composure for her to just practice moderately (or go easy in terms of practicing). And then, Tsukimori tells Hino that the truth behind whether or not she's real (whether she's really a musical prodigy), would be determined in the second round of the competition. (And well, Hino of course is puzzled as to what he's talking about) o_o

so there... I really hope that scene where Tsukimori blushes shows up in the next episode (coz I didn't see it in the preview

)

Hihara was really funny in this episode though, looks like Hino's harem is slowly building up

I'm no ga La Corda player, but I'm assuming it's somewhat a complex for him as teh dude who takes things seriously. He's clearly better than Hino at the stage he's at, but I don't think we need a 3rd eye to assume that he got where he is today by training vigourously day in and day out solely concentrating his passion to violin, hence his harsh comments towards Tsuchiura concerning doing 2 things at once.... I'm thinking he's having the Touya Akira complex.

The school president announces that Tsuchiura Ryotaro takes part in the rest parts of the contest, though he hasn't accect it yet. Later on, all the participants including him and Kanazawa, the teacher who is supervising them, go to Shouko's family's vacation house for a four-day training camp. At the morning of the first day when Azuma's car is going to the train station where they meet, he incidentally sees Kahoko running to there. He picks her up. Kahoko feels very uneasy when he asks about her violin experience. She inpulsively tells him that she is only a beginner. Watching his perplexed look, she thinks if she should have pretended to be a more experienced player, but then thinks that such a lie must be frivolous. Azuma gazes her serious face worrying about something but says nothing anymore. At the station, Hihara seems even more lively than usual. Shimizu seems vacant as always. He left the train ticket on the gate and two girls passing by happily help him. They even carry his instument to the platfome. (I'm not sure if they are just passers-by.) Hihara and Tsuchiura are amezed at the sight and stand blankly in front of the enterence gate, which irritates Tsukimori. He says something to move them. Tsuchiura turns around and answers back in a rough manner. There, unforunately, is Shouko. Probably, he is listed in her black books now. The vacation house is very large and fulled with art objects, though the arrangement seems rather random. It even has three soundproof music training rooms, that why they hold the camp there. Spoiler for episode 6: Lili said the magic violin needs routine maintenance and he casted some magic on it. The magic cannot last forever, which could give the story a twist.

usagijen Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003	oh.. forgot to mention something in the episode... it's quite important, though not plot-affecting Spoiler: There was this scene where Hino went into the piano room to get some CDs, then Shimizu mentions about this musician by the name of Kreisler, who he considers a liar (not because he lied about his ability, but because some of his works were earlier ascribed to other famous composers, when it was supposed to be his own original works) The reason why Kreisler did this was so that his works would be known (even if it was known by the world to be the work of some other composer) He has received negative criticism regarding this, and Kreisler's reaction to this was simply "The name changes, the value remains". (oh, and this was not mentioned in the anime... this came out when I did a little research^^;; ) This is why, during this part of the episode, Tsuchiura and Shimizu ends up telling about how this lie actually turned out to be a good thing, since Kreisler's work (may it have been known to be under another person's name) was able to bring joy to people (coz otherwise, if his works came out under his name 'Kreisler' who was not yet known at that time, people wouldn't have paid much attention to it). This then made Hino think about Lili, who she thinks resembles Kreisler ...and also made her think about the parallelism between Kreisler and the magical violin (or rather, the "false" or unreal violin). The fact that Kreisler lied never changed the fact that he simply wanted to bring joy to people through his music. This motivates Hino to do her best, since despite the fact that she is deceiving people with regards to playing the violin, the fact that she can bring joy to people and let people enjoy music (despite this deception) remains genuine and true Last edited by usagijen; 2006-11-07 at 19:05.

Fuyuumi: Ah, no. I did't mean it. You called me "Fuyuumi-chan"... (* Hino called her "Fuyuumu-san" before, with a polite honorific.) Hino: Well, I guess it's easier.
