Saying that common people don't know what's good for them has been one of the most commonly used argument the ruling class used for various purposes. Not many people are stupid but many people either seemed to be too preoccupied with their own small world or refuse to see the pictures in different viewpoints if not the general picture.
What I found was that while people do have the capacity to know what's good for them and capable of taking action a considerable portion of people doesn't seem to be doing enough to prepare their communities and their beloved ones (eg. children) to face the world and deal it in the right way. The common populace in general really have grown and matured a lot over the recent decades but still have a long way to go. But in order to keep on growing and fixing any problems we have within and without we need to be constantly more willing to be aware that problems, whatever they may be, exists and acknowledge something must be done. As long as we keep doing that we're generally on the right track.

But you see, you're saying you know what's good for people. The "people don't know what's good for themselves" is an argument used by a ruling class that knows that ignorant people are easier to manipulate. It seems really self-centered of yourself to consider "populace has a long way to go". Don't you include yourself within that populace? Or are you some kind of otherworldly being that's completely isolated from society?
Enough with the offtopic, anyways.

Well, YouTube should be left more or less as it is. Be real strict with copyrights and the place is going to be less interesting. It's not like people go to YouTube to download entire videos and such. Don't copyrighters have more bigger problems to tackle out there? Ones that actual involve downloading and such?
