I'll just say go back and watch the part with the "shadowy figure" and listen to his (very distinctive and familiar) voice. If you still can't figure it out, I think someone answered it under a spoiler tag the last time someone asked, maybe 10 pages ago...?

Just saw it on the big screen in Hawaii during a vacation that <cough> happened to line up, and it looked great in the larger-than-life size it deserves!
I thought it was interesting (and wise) that they didn't attempt to subtitle that line near the end... Spoiler:
Everyone in the theater sorta gasped at first, and then groaned three seconds later, no subs needed :-) |

It's odd there doesn't seem to be a torrent page for the movie, does this mean it was licensed before any groups started to sub it? Normally if there were some and it was removed the page stays up and links to a forum like this one.

Movies don't usually get subs until the DVD is released, because you can't usually get a raw file for a theater release. And that DVD has yet to be released. That said, yes, it was licensed by Bandai nearly since its theater release (conceivably earlier, since sometimes those deals are made well before they're announced), so there never will be a torrent page on this site for the movie.

I can't believe I actually read almost every single post of this thread. I must have too much free time on my hands.
But seriously, kudos to everyone, especially (in no particular order) gamer_2k4, quigonkenny, VCV, Ice Block et al. The fact that there are so many different interpretations of the franchise as a whole is testament that it is far deeper than most would like to admit. Wow, what a movie. I actually watched it twice, because the first time was kinda lackluster due to the horrible venue. I do agree that the first hour seems kinda draggy... Then everything starts to pick up once Kyon assembles the team. I personally rate the film 9.5/10, only because in my opinion the pacing of the first half could be better. Again, just my opinion. Also, did anyone else find the choice of Gymnopedies really appropriate and moving for the Yuki scenes? |
