lol I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm really picky (maybe). In general I want to make sure she likes me the way I am and very loyal. Having a personality or somebody that actually likes to do stuff like Haruka is definately a big bonus since I like to do everything myself. I'm decent in cooking, cleaning, have an interest in many sports, play table games such as table air hockey and fooshball, variety of video games, drawing, etc. If a girl has a general interest in everything too that would be great because I can spoil her as much as I want.
Actually any of the girls in this anime is a good selection, but Haruka so far just stands out the most. Plus, them being married into a ten year skip showed how loyal and cheerful Haruka still is.

What defiantly makes Haruka amazing, is even if an emotional event occurs between someone and her (like how Junichi asked her out the first time, but got rejected) she was still very friendly towards him. Now that is surprising to see.

The things people like about Haruka are, for me, dramatic warning signs. Allow me to paint a picture here, using my own observations and the things others have said about her.

So why is it that I see a frighteningly broken, clingy, borderline sociopathic manipulator where others see a 'carefree', 'cheerful' girl? Well, first off, you have to consider her as a whole package, not as a series of distinct traits, because some of her individual qualities would be endearing under different circumstances. Together, however, they paint a rather distressing picture. Second, and I feel this is really the more crucial difference: the anime presents the arc with the intention that you see her in a positive light. Junichi and Haruka growing together in the skewed way they do is intended to be seen as a good thing, and unless you're actively evaluating the characters, rather than letting the tone of the anime decide for you, then you won't think to question her behavior. Haruka could be an interesting character, provided the story actually dealt with her personality realistically, with the understanding that it's problematic. The fact that we are asked to find such a disturbed person attractive is insulting to me, and is a total mishandle of her.

There are subservient/submissive relationships that can actually be healthy, but only if the other partner desires that type of treatment, knows what to expect, and can emotionally/psychologically handle the "games." Whether Junichi is that type of guy, I suppose that is up to a person's opinion.
