It's just normal posesssion, I assume you've done that.

Hmm, in that case, the の particle could be there, but has been omitted because it's obvious the speaker is talking of his own father. For example, if the previous speaker was talking of his own father before that.

私は (私の）父は新聞を読みながらご飯を食べます

(As for me,) My father reads the paper while eating lunch.

Presumably as it's a basic textbook, they're trying to make it easy for people; I doubt they'd use two topic markers in a row.

どすを利かせた - actual meaning is showing off the knife to scare the other.
and どすを利かせた must be shorten actual sentence is どすの利いた声でwhich means scare her with low voice used by yakuza(mafia).

しまいには is usually translated as as last. also the しまいには used (
しまいには。。。。してしまった) that common sense to be used.
してしまった means did something is not usual who had done with panic.
auther is using that word as more expression than "at last" (ついに)､i guess

Kadokawa USA, for the Ga-rei Zero show, is using it for Division. I was told that it means Special Combat/Special Warfare. Need to clear this up. Thanks.

"特戦" this kanji charactor must be shorten actual word as　特別戦闘・特殊戦隊etc....
as i see that attached picture to figure, it looks like special combat team...
if mercenary wear beret hat who may be green beret combat team.
what is that actual word for 特戦?

特 - special
戦 - fight/war/battle

Seems about right to me.

i think yu ominae need to clarify that 戦 means fight or war or battle.
and i believe some japanese do not recognize its only the word "

update:

that 特戦 is the 防衛省･超自然災害対策本部･特殊戦術隊 on ga rei zero.
特戦 is short name of 特殊戦術隊 which is special strategy of battle team.

If you wrote this in english first, mind writing the original script and then we can check for accuracy, nuance, etc?
I generally get the concept, but kinda turn my head a little at the first frame when the girl speaks.
Since it's for humour, it'd probably be better to have a source first to check from.

「ザッシがありがとう」 is almost certainly wrong. As Mystique says, it depends on what you want to say - perhaps something on the lines of 「ザッシを作ってくれてありがとう!」or 「あなたが作ったザッシが大好きです!」. Though if you're using ザッシ for what you've just made, 漫画(まんが) or ４コマ might be better.

Also are you using katakana for ザッシ and ゼンブ for any particular reason? It's not WRONG, but it seems a little odd.

Usually, you don't use katakana for nouns... Unless it's on a humorous TV talk show or something, katakana's only for foreign, onomatopoeic, and mimetic words. As Circular Logic said above, it's not wrong, but I can't say that it's right, either. At first I couldn't understand what ザッシ was; you mean magazine, 雑誌, right?

I used Katakana for two reasons. First, to add emphasis (particularly with 全部). I see it sometimes in other comics, especially used for foreigners. Although that doesn't explain 「ザッシ」. I tend to use only simple kanji being that a large part of my readership are Japanese learners. I can't stand it when hiragana is all mixed up with other hirigana. Therefore, I decided to use katakana for more complex kanji instead in order to make it stand out from the rest of the words. Do you think that's wrong?

「雑誌がありがとう」is suppose to mean, "thank you for the magazine." Since it is a little out of context, maybe what you said 「あなたが作ったザッシが大好きです!」would be better. Along the lines of, "I love the magazine you made!"

Hmmm... if it's too hard to read, then maybe there is a better way? It's printed on a B6 page, which makes it very difficult to use furigana.
