Omake "thoughts" ^_^
I think those super-deformed style endings deserve own thread... they are called omakes, right?
They are hilarious! Especially omake after episode 4, all characters beating poor Haruka with mallets and when its Takayuki's turn, Haruka wakes up... I laughed so hard that almost fell off chair. Great for balancing series' mood... |

well... honestly I really NEEDED those omakes, cuz the episode itself really does an excellent job of depressing me. |

It's strange ... the episodes are really really touching and tragic, but somehow it's going down much smoother than the REAL tough stuff like SaiKano or Grave of the Fireflies, even though I care MORE about the characters involved.
Wanting to cry never felt so sweet Good stuff. |

But compared to ep.2, where I was completely depressed and sad, ep.3-5's omakes sure made me better. (OMG... I almost felt like Takayuki at the end of ep.2... completely shocked. =D) |

the Omake's are really really good and they do it soooo well
see sometimes in anime you know whats gonna happen in the next episode and kinda get spoilers sometimes... But in order to have the viewer to watch MORE AND MORE they just make the story interesting and end the episode with you wanting to see what will happen next The Omake's are funny and random... How they have nothing to do with the episode just seen or have nothing to do into the proceding episode... its a great way to kinda get away from the sad atmosphere that the anime kinda carries at some points |

Yeah, like others say, the omakes are definitely a good touch... Allows the emotions to settle down a bit. Another excellent idea to come from this anime, shows that sad animes don't have to bring your mood down completely to succeed.

Personally I don't like the omakes. I don't like ending an episode on a severly depressing point and then try to have my spirits "perked up" by these. The Omake for Blue Seed and Record of Lodoss War were pretty well placed though "Pah pah pah PARN!"
