Seeing how the the names and the guesses on whose turn it will be in Episodes 10 and 11 are being spoiler-hidden, I am expecting they will be as hard hitting as Episode 9 in terms of the kind/type of kids who will "leave" the game. I haven't read the manga, so I have no clue what their backstory are but definitely intrigued.

From the title I was expecting a more shocking development or outcome on how this episode went through. Either the GONZO animation staff changed the events on how they should supposedly had happened in the manga or toned down the content a great deal.

Kako simply loses his sanity upon the prospect of dying right away after riding Zearth for the next battle, grasping that it was his turn.

Screw Earth and hell with everyone. If he was really going to die for sure and no one should mourn for him, then at least having pleasure with Chizu before passing away.

What I noticed was that it look a longer time for Zearth to fully materialize. The other giant machine fully materialized in about five frame cuts. But, Zearth took longer and when the frame returned to Zearth there was still a bit of its legs in the materializing process.

The delay was due because Zearth's design is too complex than that of the other robots or the more sinister implication that Koemushii slowed down the teleportation process because it found the actions of the Japanese military quite amusing and stupid to go off and meddle against the battle with the other robot?
Likely it was the second one, since Koemushii refered that the opening performance was over, and it was time for the real fight to start.

I did enjoy the cliffhanger.

Choosing a new pilot once the chosen one dies before the battle starts, it is not something which I believe pleases Koemushii, and I guess the situation called for an extreme measure.

I wonder if Koemushii would consider Kako's death as a penalty and infraction?
Then if it is, it would not be surprising that next pilot turns out to be Chizu for the next episode. After all, she killed him involuntarily, unknowingly, unwillingly and in self-defense.

Guido did you watch ep 7 yet? I think your questions are answered in that ep, and I believe it is fansubbed (came out same time as 6's sub).

On a side note, anyone else a bit disappointed by the full OP and ED? They are so great in their 1m30 versions in the anime, but in full they seem to just drag on a bit too long. (mostly the ED though)

Anywho, I'm actually keeping the short versions XD

Who else has seen ep 10? I have not seen it but judging from psgel's blog, it seems to spoil certain things that haven't even been revealed in the manga yet.

I'm going to be disappointed if Kirie really is next. The title of ep 11 has absolutely no correlation with his story unless it is completely rewritten, and it may very wel have to be since certain things happen in it that require other kids to come first.

Sounds like 11 (whose title is Life) & 12 would be a 2 parter for Moji, and 13 is Maki. Doesn't make any sense that Kirie would come before these two though I have not seen the preview for 11 yet. This series is going to be over way too soon if they are only sticking to 1 ep per character.

Its sais "I think Kirie is next" so nothing based on the preview or anything. Besides, they can switch things around regarding Moji- Maki-Kirie.. I'd rather keep Moji around personally heh. As you say though, those episode titles make you assume a 2 parter for Moji. (or Maki, as that still fits as well imo)

But errr... Kana and Jun have a different mother? This isn't even revealed in the manga (...if this is really the secret that Kana knows of), rather shocking.

I read the whole Kana and Jun have different mothers thing on 2ch, several weeks ago, but I always saw it as speculation. Or maybe someone connected to Gonzo leaked it. Or whatever. In either case, it could very well be the big secret in the manga as well.

Different parents is something i thought about before --- not to shocked its being used when it'll make for 'whatthehell' drama. I hope we get something different in the manga though --- what with Gonzo originally saying that they'd change stories around.

Generally speaking I am quite happy with what they're doing with the source material. But after watching episodes 6 and 7, I can't help but be slightly disappointed. Chizu really came across much stronger and much more disturbed in the manga, and her past was really, really fucked up, way past the point of "oh noes it's a hidden camera". I absolutely loved it when she stabbed Kako in cold blood. The teacher's personality was also more profound - now he's just a scumbag. Maybe they thought that they can't show it on TV like that, and toned it down. I haven't seen the 8&9 raw yet - I suppose Chizu is no longer pregnant in the anime version, either?

I did not watch all of ep 10 (in fact I only saw a few seconds of it, i'm tired and have to go to bed :P) but from what I can tell, Nakama's story was almost completely changed. Her mother is a hostess now. The only thing retained from the manga is the uniform making.
I'll have more detailed thoughts later, after watching the ep.

Are serious? WTH has he explained why?

BTW the kids are starting to grow on me more and more especially after we get glimpses of their past. At first i was kind of detached from them even when after the first death but now i find my self get more apprahensive when watching. I really love the show i got buddy into it he though he was a kids show. I said watch it you wont be disappointed. So far I have converted 5 anime haters just by having them watch Bokurano. Im trying to uninstall that anime-hater personality of theirs. The show is brilliantly written much to my surprise
