There's no news on whether there will be more episodes or a new OVA, but I think we have good reason to be optimistic about the prospect of seeing the final race in animated form. The manga seems to be close to the end, and even if Fifth Stage is selling less than half of what Fourth Stage did, I don't think anyone is losing money on it. In the current marketplace, a show needs to sell at least 5,000 units per volume in order to be considered a hit and get a sequel, and the average Initial D: Fifth Stage volume is selling over 9k.

Initial D Car-Racing Manga Gets New Anime Film & Final Stage Anime

They should throw in a Battle Stage (or even Extra Stage 3) while they're at it.

The 4 episodes are now subbed and it's a shocker! That was an epic final battle to a great show. Afterwards the credits gives us a very nice montage of what everyone is doing after the final battle and the D in Project D is finally revealed.

One of the best ever made tv show in anime history

The ending battle was so good , i didnt expected that

My mind was blowed in the end , glad to see another fan there.

Also Move band disclosure was sad , i just heared about that yesterday

well a page from anime history is over now

Hope the manga author will do another one

Spoiler for MAJOR Final episode spoilers: I was spoiled that the Hachi-Roku would bite the dust in the final episode and from the moment they started talking about the engine I knew he was going to blow again. However I was not ready for the epic finale that Takumi provided us. Very badass driving at the end there. Also did anyone catch from the montage what Takumi is doing aside from keeping up his dads Tofu deliveries on the Scooby and getting awed at the new GT-86? __________________
