'The Amazing Spider-Man' - (2012)

Looks more like 'Twilight-Man.' I couldn't refrain from laughing at the shot at 0:44 -- looks like something directly out of Twilight (and what's with the holes for his thumbs in the long sleeve shirt, didn't people stop doing that about 10 years ago?) These "superhero" films -- or rather, comic book adaptions -- are getting progressively worse as the years go by.

-Bangs head against desk- Why? Do we need another reboot? I for one am getting tired of super hero movies, and choosing a highly successful one from just a couple years ago for money seems like a bad move. They could have at least taken a different approach and not done the played out origin story. I'll give them credit, I really liked the first person scene, but it looked a lot like a video game.

I think the holes for his fingers are so he can grip to walls

Is this a new Spiderman film? I thought they had already done that to death

I just wonder why they are going on a mad spree with superhero movies all of a sudden instead of other things. Yes this is another Spiderman movie, seems the last movie wasn't enough.

While I think the first person view is interesting, I really don't see the need for yet another reboot. The Toby Spiderman movies aren't that old.

The holes are before the spider even bites him. It's some out-dated style to make him look emo and anti-social.

And yes, it's the new 'Spider-Man' movie - it's also going to be in 3D.

And the snake eats itself in ever tighter circles the industry spirals into the pit made by their own demands for "infinite extensions on intellectual property".

I'm not against this, as there has to yet to be a good 'Batman' flick - however, I'd hold off about 7 to 10 years before "rebooting" it.

I was watching to see if the spiderman costume here would be different than the "original" movies. I was bitterly disappointed.

*adds this to the "not to watch" list*

I'm indifferent towards the design, but the material and texture used is pretty darn good.

Okay, now I'm usually tolerant of the Super-Hero craze that's been going around, but this new Amazing Spiderman movie is simply a load of crap.

I will say, I did sort of laugh when Tetra said "Twilight-Man." This is a reboot of a movie that only came out 9 years ago when Toby Maguire did Spiderman 1. Why would you reboot a movie still relatively fresh in our minds?

Evidently, from the actors they hired, they wanted to get some Estrogen Brigade Bait. If you don't know what that means, or you dislike TVtropes, it basically means that they hired a bunch of dudes to play fanservice for the ladies... just like pretty much any Twilight Movie.

I'm highly disappointed, and I think that many people have gotten enough Spiderman for a generation. After Spiderman 3, I think that this superhero should've retired from the Big-Screen. Unless we're gathering the Marvel Avengers or something, but any movies solely revolving around Spiderman should be laid to rest.

Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if the fangirls would probably keep this movie alive in the box-office.

@ Mr. Wang.

This is my biggest worry right now with Hollywood. After the unfortunate success of Twilight, I'm starting to get the feeling that major studios want to take source material that is usually aimed towards a more male demographic and turn it into some PG-sissy love story in an attempt to appeal to everyone. Sorry, but it doesn't work. You can include fanservice for both genders without having to sacrifice the edge of said source material, but I guess the rich just want to get richer and will sacrifice quality to reach that goal.

The same reason we got X-men The First Class; Marvel is just waiting to get their film rights back for Spiderman, so this new film is to prevent that from happening.

Spiderman and Wolverine are being held back from joining Tony Stark and the rest of Avengers.

Ugh. Superhero movie oversaturation, here we come.

But, can't be any less enjoyable than the soap-opera-wangst-fest-that-just-happened-to-have-superheroes-in-it that was Spiderman 3.

Well, the Avengers is coming out next year. Thankfully, Spider-man was never on any classic Avengers team, only the recent "GIMME YO MONEY" Avengers teams.

Same for Wolverine as above. He was never an Avenger until just recently when they decided to put the biggest sellers on the title. And by recently, I'm talking like 2004-ish.
