I don't know. If this was a Gen Urobuchi show, it would start off with the cute blonde Martian princess arriving on earth peacefully but getting nuked to a bloody pulpy death by an artillery strike...which kicks off the whole earth versus martians war in the series.

Aldnoah/Zero is an Asahi Broadcasting production, unlike G-Reco which will air on MBS' Animeism timeslot according to the official website.

i'm not talking about the timeslot..
i just think it would be a bitter competition if these two air in the same season,,
with the goal to supersede gundam, i think avoiding that is the best decision..

The first episode was all kind of background set up and will need subs to understand all the dialogues. The ending definitely got me excited to see how the events will unfold the next episode.

OP song was used as the ED theme this episode, but without any visuals, kinda let down.

Well, that wasn't bad. The dialogues are understandable for the most part though you have to read the subs to comprehend the transition between scenes from the writting point of course. Everything seems to set up well and while the characterization was pretty vague, there's some interesting moments, especially the part when mysterious missiles is about to shoot the city due to the Martian invasion. What's strange however is that Inaho is good at predictions even if he wasn't a Gary Stu. I didn't expect his friends to be students in a military school (I have the same impressions about the main cast from M3), I thought they live in a normal high school like I thought. I'm speculating the next episode will have actual mecha fighting as well the encounter between Inaho and the Martians, that might be a surprise.
