Mizuki really was interested in Reiji at first, if I'm reading chapter 119 correctly. But she got Suimei's help in order to approach him, and ended up falling for Suimei and confessing.

Why he thought it was a good idea to mess with her head instead of just saying "no, thanks" is still a mystery, though.

^Suimei said not wanting to involve her in magic world... But, calling it now, I bet it's for the sake of great reveal : "Sorry Reiji, actually I loved Suimei all along" of course. If he just rejected her then, this reveal is impossible to happen.

The author is trying so hard to torment Reiji, huh? But this is just a dick move. Suimei was an arrogant person, we can live with that, but now he's being turned into total dick.

Tbh, I kinda want the protagonist role to be switched to Reiji now. He's a true loyal friend. He abandoned his mission and rushed to save Suimei when he heard he was in danger.

Compared to that, Suimei was hiding his OP power and let his friends go on a life-threatening mission. Basically forgetting their existence throughout his fruitless journey. On top of that, revealed to be manipulating Mizuki's memories. And this prick shamelessly proclaimed himself to be their "best friend". Shit, this is worst kind of friend that stabs you in the back.

Well, the reason he's hiding it in the first place is so they can continue to live atleast semi-normal lives when they return. Especially since there's mind reading magic back home. Though he's probably gonna erase their memories when they get back.

On first reaction, you'd think Suimei was an asshole making this girl love someone else. But think about it.

She loved Reiji, then fell in love with Suimei when they got closer. From Suimei's point of view he probably felt like he NTR'd his bro. So it's better to change it back to the way it was before. That way his bro wins. He was just sloppy at it.

Suimei is just... flat... He was introduced as this perfect person, though arrogant. And he cared for his friends.
But that's just an illusion... He's just waiting for a chance to stab Reiji in the back...
He's mocking him being in the spotlight and gloated that in reality Reiji is a sucker and Suimei is always the one who saved the day
