This week's episode had some nice hidden depths and subtle storytelling...
Spoiler for a bike, a key, and a third year:

Unless the producers want to keep losing money, none. Sales for season 1 weren't impressive at all and season2 will be even less. I'm not sure how much positive effect this has on the manga sales though. Something tells me it's not enough for another season.

We're lucky the producers committed to the second cour up front. If they'd waited for reactions before deciding on a second season we wouldn't even be getting these episodes. Just consider that there are threads in Upcoming Series that already have more posts than this thread.

A pity about the sales figure. This anime is underrated IMO, and one of the few animes that I truly enjoy watching. Sure, it doesn't have much going on, but because I could relate to some of the events in the anime, I am much more absorbed in the story than other animes.

I think one of the things that delights me in this woefully underrated series is its subtlety, and the interplay between Yuuki and the girl from the cafeteria is developed wonderfully without being overblown and thrust in your face.

No, don't go Kayo! You're the best character outside the main group. I hope she isn't gone for good and comes back at least once more this season.

Yeah, Ep6 is quite sad, but I also like it for the fact that we get to see another side of Yuki.

Next week, it's Chizuru's turn for development in the love department. Can't wait!

I find it singularly unsurprising that Yuuki reads shoujo manga.

Could you elaborate on this statement?

This was such a touching episode. The tone was just right for the bittersweet pain of unrequited first love.

I refer to the sequence at about 5:55, where the manga he's reading as he (as usual) ignores Yuta is briefly shown.

I am wondering about the age gap between Kayo and Yuuki.

I'm guessing it's about 5 years. She likely graduated from high school, attended some sort of hair styling school to get a license, and worked for short while. I figure 5 years would cover that time period.

Yes, I have around the same estimation too.

To me, it's just so like Yuuki to fall for someone older than him. He is the type who needs ppl to guide, push and advise him. From what I have watched so far, Kayo seems to be the only one who actually "inspire" him enough to force him out of his shell (to the extent of challenging that dude from another class to a basketball match). Girls around his age, though adore him generally stay out of his way due to his rather unsociable behaviour.

I don't think "unrequited" is the word for it -- I get the feeling Kayo returns Yuki's feelings but neither of them are willing to do something about it due to the age gap.

Kind of interesting, but apparently the OP single for KimiBoku 2. is coming in two different limited editions, the normal one with the PV and then...
Spoiler for size:

The other LE contains an animated version of Tomohisa Sakou (the OP singer) and an original minidrama with him and the cast.. Really love the song compared to S1, so i'm excited to see this.

I was about to comment that Yuuki/Yuuta has more hair than usual and looks much more animated when I saw what you written below
