Was also surprised how the females usually don't cover themselves...wth Also, those Antarticans...just what are they thinking? Making a fake god...trying to relive the olden days? And yes, Class president is best girl

She's the god of their shrine. But yes, she's also the one that their dad theorized might be a Zashiki-Warashi. He's just wrong.

Funny, the mermaid part made me think of Shimoneta; there's a ton of difference but I feel like this too could be a minor commentary on the effects of censorship. Covering it in a sense declares it to be worth covering, and therefore worth seeing. In the case of body parts, it can create or enhance sexual appeal. If it's shown all over the place and no one cares, then it's easy to care less, like how the guys didn't care about the cute girl's boobs even when she covered them with her hands because they'd been seeing those melons since before they were grapes. Declaring something to be off-limits and not allowing it to be shown enhances the desire to see it, creating in many an increase in interest rather than a decrease. I'm not saying that women should walk around topless, mind you, but it's a fine line in a lot of areas between censoring what needs to be censored or is legitimately sexual and blocking things off too much and causing more problems than anything.

Wow, episode 9 got dark with the concentration camp stuff. Reminds me of the way prisoners of war were treated during World War II. Tough life.
The part with the frog species was rather interesting as well. Definitely a different mood compared to some of the other episodes.

Also, that talk of a god that is helping them...why do I get the feeling the snake people are behind this?

And isn't it at least slightly amusing that the Frog is French? Nice stealth insult there |

Because all of the species here are 6-limbed. Just that some of them like cat-people, lost one pair of limbs and only have rudiments on their pelvisю

Actually, amphibians in this setting are... Latin Americans. The funny thing is that South American Indians won over Spanish colonizators here but Latin America is still the same despite this. In the manga there was even a scene about how USA battles with amphibian drug barons.

I guess for the mer-people, the fins on their waist are those? Most of the snake people are also missing the second pair of limbs, except for that one guy with four arms in last week's episode.
