Is there really going to be a sequel?
If so, already? Ah well, such would be the way of the fighting game. Well, I suppose it could potentially satisfy some "momentary" issues that will not be named here unless asked of me...

Why people are so uptight with this idea, despite it is likely to be a mere expansion pack, similar to Magical Battle Arena?
We don't know the implemented changes they will add, aside of new characters, so better wait the result first hand. I actually favor that than some unlimited patch galore and other half baked fix.

I know. People were complaining when L4D2 came out before they could expand the original. Look who's complaining about it now!
If the sequel improves the flaws of the original, why complain? And hey, they confirmed that new characters are a given! There are some of us who want them... Quote:

I'm more worried about whenever this 'sequel' will just add more characters.
After all, they would all basically play the same if the engine doesn't get tweaked anyways. But if they fix things Melty -> React expansion style, I'll have no complaints. |

Well, this is interesting....
If a simple mode is added, I'll be happy. No offense but I can't pull off combos to save my life. Which is why I don't play much of the fighting game. Let alone any other fighting game, (I did play MVC3 and I love the simple mode in it, as I can play with out getting killed in two hits) As long as they put Erika and Dlanor in the game I'm fine with it.

Nonono, the problem with this game is that every character plays too similar.
combos are just as easy as any normal fighting game (new games like SFIV just has way more leanient reaction times to appeal to the 'mainstream' crowd), even moreso when you consider that every character basically has the same 'ABC dash, ABC meta, ABC super' combos leaving little room for character specific setups for most of the cast. I've been putting off joining for a while, but this settles it.
I really enjoyed OMK when it first came out. Even before the patches, I think it played pretty clean. I was most disappointed with the lack of music and what felt like a lack of depth [but then again, I don't read Japanese.] All in all, it was an awesome game that I would've liked to play versus a friend, but never got a chance to. Moving on to the news of a sequel, it seems way too early to make any calls about what to expect. I would guess it'll add new characters a la daybreak dx, but it sounds like they're really interested in fan input this time around rather than having the game close to finished and announcing it. To the fans of fightan games, what kind of elements of gameplay would you like to see implemented? I remember hearing something about aerial fighting, but I don't know much about what that entails. I think it might be interesting to decrease the damage when spamming an attack, effectively creating a system of diminishing returns [After all, the VN does discuss game theory and etc.] Sorry for running my mouth so much; I'm really excited to see this game improved into something that could rival mainstream market console games. |

Well, I'd like them to make at the very least Siesta 410 and possibly Virgilia(though she is still somewhat fightable) have their movesets changed from the insane barrage of single arrows hearing nonstop FIAR FIAR FIAR FIAR FIAR FIAR, and Virgilia's spear. Maybe like put a 3second cooldown on it after the attack finishes or something

Actually no, if you do that, they are really unable to defend themselves.
To begin with, they are extremely fragile against fast characters like Kanon, Lucifer and Battler. In fact, except perhaps Ronove and Beatrice, most characters can deal with them on even footing. The only problem is that the CPU has a very tedious tendency to launch attack at the "too perfect" timing, just like CPU Ronove with reversal/shields.

Personally, I'd like to see the old characters return and then add on 12 new Chiru characters and some more sexy stages. Maybe Erika and Bern with their awesome scythes, and Dlanor with the Red Key, etc.
Also, CHANGEABLE costumes! Not just autocolourings :/ It'd be awesome if Beato's 2nd costume was Piece-Beato, or you could cycle through the Siestas/Stakes, or Virgilia's 2nd costume could even be Kumasawa (I HAVE to see that). Maybe some more diverse Metaspecials, like Beato's one where you can call, destroy, fire behind and fire away, etc. And of course, they have to put LastendConductor in it, otherwise I won't play it 3:<
