According to the official air dates, the 1st episode will premiere on Tokyo MX on 4th January at 1:00am.

Interestingly, Animax is one of the sponsors for this anime.
Possible simulcast airing on Animax Asia?

ANN's Anime Spotlight feature on Maoyu. English logo pretty much means someone's licensed it, probably Sentai. I guess we can expect a CR simulcast.

Dunno about their choice of calling Maou "Ruler of the Magical Kingdom" (shortened to Ruler) >.> Was Archnemesis and Demon Queen too evil sounding? Isn't that sort of the point anyway?

I do not approve of the choice to call Demon Queen "Ruler of the Magical Kingdom". It waters down the impact of the premise being that the Hero joins forces with his supposed archenemy the Demon Queen to bring reform to both of their worlds. It reeks of censorship/whitewashing/sanitizing to me.

If it continues like that, they'll probably also call demons "magical creatures" or something since they already call the demon world "magical world".

Didn't like Spice and Wolf precisely because of the derp looking character animations. Something about this particular art and animation (with it's various postures and faces) in combination with this kind of plot just makes me cringe. It's like "why not just do it live action?" backgrounds aside it doesn't feel like you're tacking advantage of the medium. And then there's also the eyes. To me it looks like they're looking over each other's head every time they talk and the whole full eyeball look is kind of freaky.

(Just gonna stick to the manga for this one.)

I would never understand people who read the manga which is an adaptation of novels of any sort(real novels, light novels or visual novels). It's like to judge the book by it's movie adaptation or description in some almanach

Hm... Maybe that's what's really bothering me about the style, it's innate "slowness"

Though sometimes I do also prefer how manga can get away with eccentric stunts.
