I think you're reading too much into this. There really is nothing to figure out, apart from some plot twists that happen into each story individually which can be seen through without too much insight.

It's actually interesting to see literal interpretations of how the supernatural scenes could work with human means, but I don't think we'll get any explanations since this was meant to be a supernatural story in the first place.

Her conversation with Nonomiya wasn't witnessed by anyone, so it could very well have been just his imagination, or, let's say, he fell behind when all his club-mates had left, bumped his head somewhere and had a delusion or something.
(This is just for the heck of it. If you finish the second chapter, I think you'll see there's some stuff in there that can't really be explained with human means).

We just have to look that scene the way it was intended since there's hints that kinda hinted that Higanbana was a human. She was able to catch the camera after they bump with each other and I guess Higanbana didn't want him to take pictures of her because it will reveal that she was a human and not a youkai.

I'm curious about how you would explain the fight scenes in Spirit Camera and Hameln's Castanets, now.

So, a picture of her taken in twilight, at an empty corridor with a supposedly spirit camera would actually strengthen the belief she was a youkai. Like, 'oh look, this is the dancing doll of the infirmary captured with a haunted camera! Kyaaah~' or something.

As for Hameln's Castanettes, Yirba pretty much cut straight to the point. Rather than that, I'm very curious to see how you would try to explain 'Utopia', when you get there of course.

No one cares about Marie, she's easily forgettable, her mother could simply have been putting off thinking about her, it's a natural defense mechanism in the mind. The memory of Nonomiyas stalking can also be explained as to him it was a simple act of catching the truth, due to us hearing his narrative he could have easily justified that, his conversation where Higanbana makes him ''remember'' could have just been him self-reflecting on it and coming to terms with it.

Just finished reading. I still have to sort my feelings, but it's been... well, I can't say it was "fun", but I enjoyed reading it and liked the message the author wanted to convey. (and it made me feel oh-so-relieved that I've never been bullied in my life D: )

It's supposed to feel like that. It's explained that it's Sumire's power that amplifies the craving for bullying of the boys and girls of class 6. It feels unnatural because it is unnatural.

Is there any meaning behind the name "Hameln"? I was going through a list of manga, and saw one entitled the Violin of Hameln (or something similar). I tried searching, but only turned up a town in Germany. It may just be a coincidence too, but just wanna ask to see if maybe there's a reference I don't get. The name might actually just be a reference to that manga too I guess.

the Headmaster's power must be "Time" and "Memories" or maybe those are just the things he represent. He's using time to make everyone forget i think.

Every chapter was just a stories or rumor that currently being talked about and being spread by those students inside the school. I thinking that someone is using those youkai and making a stories about them to explain how someone disappeared , and why someone died using supernatural means.

He didn't even asked those bully ,who bullied Marie, if they can remember her. Aside from that, just to be realistic, It's not really weird that they forgot about her. Alright, finally finished up chapters 5 and 6.

DAMMMMN! I thought I had prepared myself for whatever brutality everyone was talking about, but was not expecting it to end that way. It was foreshadowed, but I didn't think it amounted to anything. I've got mixed feelings for the kid, and I kind of wonder how Marie would've reacted had she known about what was going on.

This one was just cute and sweet and made me feel happy all over haha. Not really much to say to this one other than it was sweet.

Finally finished. I now get what people meant by exaggerated bullying in chapter 7, but it wasn't like it was ignored. The story directly says that this drug like bullying was cause by Sumire. While it's a story with a message, at the end of the day it needs to be entertaining too, so I think people are arguing over this point a little too much.

As for the bus, damn. Higanbana kind of gave no fucks. I honestly think she killed the children to help Marie. She knew that if they didn't die, Yukari wouldn't be free because of Sumire's power. I think Higanbana has a larger soft spot for Marie than she truly lets on. Let's face it, The 3rd ranked youkai versus the 8th Ranked? Marie wouldn't be able to truly stop Higanbana if she didn't let her win. Marie knows that though, and uses it to her advantage (Chatper 6).

I'm glad that at the end, Yukari was finally able to stand up to the pressure of bullying. Because it's true, with a lot of bullying, 99% of the time people just sit back and let it happen. Not judging, because it's hard to stand up to the pressure, so I really think it shows her strength.

I sort of feel bad for the students who were killed though. It was Sumire's power that made them into such evil humans in the first place. Had it just been bullying on a normal level, I think Yukari would've been able to break free of it, but because they were so warped by Sumire, the only way to save the one girl who had the power to stand up to Sumire was to kill all the students controlled by her.

It's honestly a lot less HAPPY ENDING FOR EVERYONE! than Higurashi and Umineko were (Umineko can be argued either way I suppose, but I felt it had a generally positive tone to it), and I find that to be a good thing for the world the story is set in. This is a world ruled by real youkais, and the simple fact is, unless they themselves are stopped, a true happy ending probably shouldn't be expected.

I don't think she forgot Marie . She just probably remembered her pain that Marie disappeared when she saw that photo. It doesn't mean she forgot about her. I guess if he didn't leave early and he manage to talk to the other family members, I think he'll find out that they haven't forgotten about her.

In my opinion, i think It's impossible for a mother to forget about her children though.
