Announcement made at the Symphogear Live 2016 event today. New Symphogear series in production, either a new series or season 4. (they didn't make it entirely clear yet)

Rejoice, It was going to happen after the hint in the last episode. Who will be the big bad this time and will this be hibiki and co swan song?

Screw the negativity, hell yeah to season 4 !

Seemed likely with season 3 still having great sales. It's the kind of show where you frankly can keep going for a long time. There's no locked in main villain or even enemy with the noise nuked in season 2. Which basically makes them a bunch of super heroes waiting for the next threat to show up .

Hopefully can learn from some weak points in season 3 and carry on with what they did well. Adding Ignite was a nice option. In a sense will let you give characters secondary songs (aside from Hibiki) without having to make drastically different songs. Plus there's room for that to become a threat itself down the road. Or they can just continue on with it and say "a black mode isn't always going to bite you."

Hopefully they can follow more season 2's model for giving characters more varied arcs. It's fine to have a main theme or focus, but making too many episodes repetitive can pull the show down.

Still, more Chris, more action, more Chris, more song, more Chris, and I'm in.

You have to wonder how they can top season 3 . I mean that opened up with saving a shuttle falling to Earth. Hibiki suplexed a shuttle! How do you top that ?

I wonder how was the Live concert. It's too bad we have to wait half a year for the DVD to come out to see it.

Season 4's plot is so obvious after seeing how GX ended. There maybe some twists in the plot. Elfnein will definitely be S4. She is second in command when Genjiro isn't at HQ. She probably built a new Autoscorer for recon. I wonder what will replace Arc-Noise. Well we won't anything til later this year. S4 will probably debut next summer.

I kind of expect Elfnein to be a replacement for Ryouko. A specialist for their tech and alchemy. Not sure if she'd act as a second in command or just be mostly a lab character.

Kind of curious what they'll go with as the next series of grunts. Wouldn't be bad to visually change it up even if their role remains to get curbstomped by our main cast's flashy attacks . Wouldn't mind limiting the amount of Autoscorer-like characters. Fewer repetitive showdowns and maybe some more group or pair combat.

Agree that unlike previous seasons, they really did make sure to lay the groundwork for season 4. Some interesting possibilities for where they can go.

I bet for an alien invasion/ watchman scenario for season 4. The world powers will make their own sypho gear users in the shadows to use them for political gains and war. Hibiki and friends will challenge the new system that will make them into bad guys in the media. This will questions who will make the better guardians of earth using extreme mesule or faith in each other. I know season 2 explore this but going into a world power involved will make it more interesting.

Meh. Given that the third season betrayed and abandoned a lot of the character development from the first two seasons in favor of cheap short-term drama, I am disinclined to view this as a positive thing.

Wait, when were mother issues a thing? Chris-Fine was more Stockholm Syndrome, Maria/Kirika/Shirabe did have a kind of familiar relationship with Professor Nastassja but there wasn't really an issue with that relationship....

Though is a question where they go with season 4/5. Hibiki's health was a natural progression to go with season 2 along with Chris's guilt towards her actions while working with Fine. Maria also had pretty natural progression in accepting her utter weakness in season 3.

Maybe if Ver's data leads to the ability to make anyone or almost anyone a Symphogear user then the spread of that technology causing chaos could be a reasonable direction to go in.

I am most likey saying Hibiki problem this season will be her family problem because I don't think Hibiki's mother and grandma is going to forgive Hibiki father so easily and beside there back in Asshole Town.
People are also forgeting the fact that Tsubasa is the child of her Grandpa and Mom and half sister of her father and Superman this could all be use as character deveploment for Hibiki and Tsubasa.
You could also bring a Zombie Kanade and Eve up to really cause problem for the main character group.

For main plot you could have the USA trying to reclaim it power in the World after what happen in Season 2 or more on Europe or The Dark County as they call it who are starting to make huge move to claim power after The USA lost of power or The Illuminati who was bring up once at the end of Season 2 by Maria group in there press conference to the World. The Moon Relic that started up again at the end of Season 2. The Roman Catholic Church and there witch burning which started Carol reveage plot, they could start calling the Symphogear user, devil powers user and try to destory them. There also the demon outline that show up in the Ignite form.

Or even Beast666 taking contarl of world I mean they call the Noise monster at the end of Season 1 the Dragon of the Apocalypse which usally come which a Fake Prophet(Fine) and a Beast666 but no Beast666 show up or even Housemans of the Apocalypse. Unless Beast666 is the 6 symphogear user, a real way to turn this series on it head

As for the rest of your ideas, we had the family issues covered in s3 already and thank god it is finally over. There is no need to bring them into s4/5 again.

It is more likely that it will include some kind of alchemist and maaaaybe another symphogear user which will be befriended later on. The cast is already fairly large as it is.
I would heavily support the return of Mikugear though.
