I'm surprised no one bump about this, but both SAO and AW is confirmed only get 1 cour per each show, AW will aired first n SAO take its place after that... bummer. Unless they have another bitch scheme like Horizon does (I can think one currently>_>)

not good at all. SAO and AW are too similar in story concept. SAO might suffer for being aired later than AW....

Actually, despite both being about MMO games and wrote by the same author SAO and AW are quite different.

AW is just about 1 games while SAO go from game to game. Each volume or two is another MMO game all together and has a more of .Hack feel to it.

On the other hand, the gaming part of AW is more scarce due to the way that game interfaces and it have more real-life character interactions compare to SAO's online interaction.

I'm not to worry about SAO being 1-cour as they can always restrain to just the first or second game/arc. But I am worry about AW as 1-cour consider that series's central plot don't really pick up until V5 or so and V1-V4 are more of lay the foundation than anything.

Seems to me that the author's rushing out SAO content so that there are more things to air for the anime.

And yeah, SAO and AW are completely different in terms of feel. Like what Undertaker said, SAO focuses more on online gaming like .hack while AW feels like Kamen Rider with different rules.

Yes, you are the right one. fertygo had admitted that he has made a mistake on that.

Probably should just read the the two posts in between, but that does make it sound better.

SAO would be more than fine with being 2-cour, but again I'm worried about AW mainly due to it's main plot didn't start develop until late and the issue that the LN is currently heading toward climax at V8 and all signs seem that Anime might try to crimp all story in it the way Tora Dora or Gosick was which might lead to some pacing issue in later episodes.

Seeing that it is a 2 cour I think there is high possibility to end at ALO arc. I also think only the third story of volume 2 will be included as a flashback between SAO and ALO arc as it introduces a character that is fairly important.

However, I'm worried whether the other 2 stories of vol.2 could be included in the anime as I think their event will not be shown otherwise the flashback fillers will be too long...

After reading the LN I think SAO should get 12-13 episodes and the rest is divided to ALO and GGO.

But meh, GGO seems like another story altogether. I'd be great if GGO get's it's own series.

After curiousity got the better of me I decided to check out SAO the other day. Thanks to that I am hooked! It quickly reminded me of the .hack universe, but improved on the character interactions IMO (I like Kirito more than Kite, and Haseo). I honestly can't get enough of Kirito and Asuna.

I really hope the anime does the novel justice.

Has anyone finished reading Volume 7 yet? As far as the LN goes.

I still think that SAO should've aired first before Accel World considering that the later is kind of a spiritual sequel.

I hope for SAO they give us a 24 episode time slot considering they have enough novels to cover so much material.

Sorry man, but Accel World will air in April while Sword Art Online will follow 3 months later. Both of them would be 2-cour titles, but for some reasons, I think they air separately on different channels.
