You're right. I assumed, based on initial statements about the comic, and the big push they did for it, that they were expecting a big, long-selling series out of it. That may be wrong. I'm not sure.

just read volume 2 kiss in the galaxy, and I dont think Sheryl would alive after she got a beam shot through her heart... *sigh*

Considering the last line of the book is "I want to live," I doubt she's dead. But if I see the magazine around, I'll spoil you.

I don't get it. Is Kiss in the Galaxy manga an alternate universe where Alto and Sheryl are going to be together? Because from all of the pictures I've been seeing from the posters here, it looks like it. And it seems like Brera and Ranka are canon here. (I don't mind a BreraxRanka though XD) What is going on with this manga? I love shoujo that's why I have to ask this question.

I don't think Ranka and Brera are a couple here, really. He's just a little more expressive with his affection is all.

What IS different in the Sheryl comic is that it doesn't seem like Ranka is terribly interested in Alto as anything other than a friend.

Yeah, it'll be in next issue, and then it will be collected in the book.

So I glanced at the latest issue of Bessatsu Friend this evening, but I had to do it quickly because the convenience store was about to close and the woman working there was giving me a bland smile that had "Hurry up and get out" written all over it in invisible ink. So I wasn't able to glean much of the story...

The texts for the images are so small, I can only make out a little of them. But for the manga image of Alto hugging Sheryl, his last words were "I won't let you die." And Sheryl was saying something about showing everyone that she will protect (?) the important people, and Alto. That's what I understood. She might be dying again and has to sing for the colony.
