The Gurren Lagann mention in the Video/Game store was absolutely genius. Did not see that coming --- nicely added.
Next episode preview.. i died. Its time for Hayate to be more love-love. <3

My brother bought one of those train sims a few years back. It's the most boring thing. Not even like a racing game because you actually have to obey speed limits and signals and crap.
Anyway, I'm a bit conflicted about this episode. I couldn't find Conan anywhere. Although I'm not sure about one scene: In the video store there's a poster that says "SPACECONAN" and next to it is another similar poster with a blue shape in the corner that might be Conan's face. Could someone with the HD version check it out? The only other possibility is the first bump, but I haven't been considering the bumps as part of the show. Then again, I had to go to the preview to spot him in episode 1, so I guess the bumps will have to count, or else this will be the first Conan-less episode. Favorite quote: Nagi, "Hayate is furious! I must resolve this misunderstanding." uh... It's a little late for that. Is this anything? I was wondering if they were gonna do a Claymore reference when I saw those swords. Santa-san is a construction worker now. Is it just me? It looked like all the videos in that store were H. |

Spoiler for s:
I just learned how to make avatars. I'm sure someone else can make one better. That's the goddess in the manga that introduces each volume I wonder if she'll make a live appearance. Quote:

Ep 7
This show... is just... so funny. I almost died during the sword fight. Starting to get really attached to the characters as well. Just like so many other series with huge ensemble casts of mostly females, the main male character has a plethora of girls after him, which is something that usually bewilders me in anime, since the reasons why the girls are attracted to them can be horribly stupid at times (see Shuffle for one of numerous examples of that), but there are those rare cases where the main male character is actually charismatic enough that one can swallow it. And I'd say Hayate is an example of that. It just helps series like this so much if the personalities are likable, and I'd say almost all of them are here... even if they are somewhat simplistic (but it is a gag comedy after all). Anyway, this show continues to be absolutely hilarious, which is a good sign for the future, since this is generally where the initial luster of most anime comedies starts to wear off. I always think the sign of a great comedy in anime is that it's still funny right up until the final episodes, and I'm almost willing to stick my neck out with this anime and say that I'm expecting Hayate no Gotoku to still be funny at the end. Almost.

It also helps that, with the exception of Nagi, none of the girls fell head over heels for him within the first five minutes of meeting him. They like him to some smaller or greater degree, but they're not in love and won't do absurd things for his sake.

2 things ive noticed after rewatching with the subs ~
the choice of words used here is absolutely side splitting ~ it brings back good memories the last time i "decked" someone i knew it sounded familiar the first time ~ its a reference to Tokyo Mew Mew (and with hayate looking like that it makes the gag 10 times better XD)

Im 99% certain it was a reference to griffon the name of a mech from the Patlabor TV series. The head gave it away pretty easy cracked me up lol. Overall was a pretty cute episode with isumi epitome of moe, but I think shes going to be soundly upstaged in that aspect by trap hyate next episode. |
