Bought the game.

Jesus they actually used the original theme song from like 2 decades ago. When the intro started I was surprised I actually remember how the song goes.

Dunno if you would consider this news or not, but Sega has made some new trademarks regarding Sakura Wars.
The trademarks are:
サクラ大戦 B.L.A.C.K. (Sakura Taisen B.L.A.C.K.)
サクラ維新 (Sakura Ishin)
サクラ革命 (Sakura Kakumei)

Interesting to see what all this will be, if it will become something.

Why limit yourself to just those two for additions? There are a lot of fans of Margarethe for instance. I'd like to see routes for Hiromi and Yui too.

Based on Famitsu interviews. Chisa Yokoyama and Michie Tomizawa were at a point where they didn't want to be part of the game. The former also didn't want to voice Yasha at first.

Looks like project black will be more like a spin off. Here's hoping they will announced a proper sequel next year

The Youtube channel "Backlog Battle" managed to interview, via e-mail, the director and one of the producers of Sakura Wars 2019, and this video shows the questions the channel posed and the staff members' answers:

Sadly, both are mum about whether or not Kosuke Fujishima (the original character designer for Sakura Wars for five games) would ever return to the series.
