Hrm ... well, after ep 2 I kinda like the series a little more, but only a little. I guess I kinda like the process of the group forming thus far, but am still uncertain what I will think when they begin to perform as a unit. And to be honest I still don't feel terribly involved in their predicament or the idols themselves as characters thus far. But it seems to be getting a little better.

This series is still in the "Under Observation" mode for me. We haven't really hit the big parts yet, so I'm not judging anything yet. Although the characters, and the flow are lovely.

How long is the series? is it 1 cour or 2 cour? the pacing is kinda slow but maybe I'm just used to the idol team already complete. This gives a new feel to it from my past idol theme anime that I watch.
This series really has superb animation and songs. that's for sure.

Watched episode 2:
Little by little the group is being formed. Kind of admire Honoka for persevering despite the difficulties. Honoka herself isn't adept at specific tasks like costume making, composing songs, etc. - but she does make a commendable effort at convincing people with the skills to do the said tasks. Waiting eagerly for next week's episode.

Given that the school is already on the verge of closing, it'd stand to reason that if all of the other clubs are more popular, then the newly formed school idol club composed of unknowns wouldn't really be that interesting. Then there are the people who might have been potentially interested but either got sidetracked or found something else more interesting, the former example being what nearly happened to Hanayo.

Seriously is their school really has that few students. So far I see pupils all over the place. There were even people interested in brass band. Another complain is that live looks way too professional. Didn't know that running stairs can make you such good dancer and singer. I know I nitpicking but still would like to see it properly fleshed out since it is supposedly main incentive.
To good parts: Honoka really shines as very headstrong and positive leader. Umi's moments of selfdoubt are nicely done imo far less overboard like Mio from K-ON!. Staff does not waste time. I should have taken off my yuri goggles for last scene. Looks like meganeko is stuck in love trianlge between Maki and her firend. Maki is more into shy submissive girls. |

I didn't expect their first live concert to bomb this hard. At least this way, Umi -who reminds me a lot of Mio- didn't have to feel embarrassed
The road to becoming a school idol is a long and harsh one. Yeah, her singing voice is just... not good... it's too high-pitched and artificial. She stood out compared to the other two, in a bad way.
