He was portrayed as a sympathetic villain in Thor (because when you get down to it, Thor was basically two brothers vying for their fathers approval) and came across as quite interesting. If Skull is still alive (because I doubt it's just Loki ripping things up - I'll also admit my vast ignorance to the Avengers universe), I'm curious what would have gotten them to work together (while they can be cruel, they do have different ideologies).

Or if the 3D effect is useful in storytelling (Tron 2 used the 3D effect to make the computer world different from the real world, which is an interesting effect that works plotwise...sort of like color in the Wizard of Oz while Dorothy is in Oz.
