Lucky you!!! . Besides, with enough work put into it, even a plastic Gundam Kit will look as good as a resin one, that's just the nature of mechanical models. I still prefer my women to be in full armour, though: (from website of someone who posted earlier in this thread)

I have the Yujin Trading figs of tsukihime which are pretty cool, not to mention the
clear versions are almost glass-like

But alas, most trading figs are gone (sources I had produced 0 hits) even the
resinkits are gettins scarce
you missed out on most releases (Like I did with Azumanga and Chrno Crusade)
being late to a party sucks

as for elfen lead,... nothing whatsoever
never even saw a garage kit of that series
a well known and widly discussed anime but maybe somewhat too controversial to
actually release merchandise

I do find it strange as well. I think Eva has too many figures, so much so that I think they're using up all the clothing choices that they can think of

And furigana, that E7 Talho Voice Idol, is the sound of good quality? I'm wondering how voices of these kind of figures are....

It doesn't matter how much you love a series if not enough people are into it then they won't make figures or kits for it.

Personally I don't like elfen lied and most people have never even heard of it other than the violence in it. I don't think it was the smash hit show people would like it to be. But Berserk was controversial and they have figures why because it's popular.

And tha's why Eva merchandise is going strong it's one of the most popular animes of all time everyone knows it hell even some of friends who aren't into anime know it or have seen it. I do feel Eva sometimes has to many crappy figs made but now and then they make some good ones.

So fat chance for any elfen lied stuff. I wish they had more stuff from Noir or Gunslinger Girl but at least they made enough figs to hold me over.

Hmmm.. I'd say it's not particularly good, somewhat distorted and medium-low quality, maybe like something a cell phone can do. I guess part of the reason is that the speaker is pretty small. Nonetheless, in all three lines you can still recognize the voice of the VA.

oh, and to everyone in my timezone -- happy new 2006!

4 new ones just arrived for me.

All 1/8 PVC figurines.

My favourite one out of the 4 would be Tsumura Tokiko from Busou Renkin. Not a very popular series albeit by Nobuhiro Watsuki aka Kenshin's author, Tokiko however is an uber cool character and here is why.

The 4 blades on her thigh are called the "Valkyrie Skirt" or something and completely poseable and removable.
Spoiler:

I think the voice doll series arent very good. They are relatively cheaply priced plus some of the money goes to the base and electronics, so the detail and quality isn't up to the standard of normal 1/8 PVC figurines. Anyway they arent 1/8 in the first place. All the dolls also stand straight without any good poses. The base is the redeeming feature, with the name of the character, and other details, not to mention the sound. Which leads me to the question, "Why would we want our figurines to talk?"

To prevent battery leakage, we shouldnt keep batteries inside the stand permanantly, only when you want it to talk.

I have to admit if I have all the voicedolls of a series loaded up with batteries and placed in a row, it'll be rather cool. But its not really practical. I'll rather get the new Megahouse Talho, Eureka and Anemone set, which looks good.

Sadly, there are no Gunslinger Girl PVC figurines yet, only resin kits. What I'm hoping for are:

Enma Ai
the rest of the School Rumble Cast
Kyouyama Anna
Soi Fong
Sephilia
Anyone from Gantz
ALL the Rozen Maidens

For Rozen, only Suiseiseki is slated for release in the near future it seems.

Well, compared to the Megahouse figures the voicedolls are a little inferior... I don't know about the quality -- never had the chance to compare them side by side -- but like you said, the Megahouse ones have really nice poses and I think are just a little bigger. What IMO redeems the voicedolls are the voice option (I think it's a nice addition) and the price -- I got mine for 819 yen. Besides, the detail on the figure is quite good.

What I'm looking for atm are FLCL figures, but because it's been more than five years since the anime, they're kinda hard to find, which sucks since I really want a Haruko with a guitar.

I would like an Atomsk hah.

819 yen is quite cheap for a figurine of that size I guess. On another note, I'm trying to get all the transformable LFOs from Eureka seveN. They look cool...

In response to the above Eva talk, I agree that there are wayyyy too many variations of Rei and Asuka. I may not be a megafanboy of Eva, but they still appeal to me and I always have to quell the urge to purchase them. The only time I succumbed to the temptation was the tennis version of Rei and Asuka, which I then regretted haha.

Do you guys know of any forums that deal with figurines alone?

Sorry, no idea about a specialized forum.

The Eureka Seven LFOs look cool indeed, but I have to cut my wallet some slack, which is why I'll probably get only the Nirvash one... there's no way I'm gonna buy all of them... sigh. I wish they released a Type Theend model too. And besides, there are other figurines I'm eyeing too, like the Genshiken Kanako Ohno cosplay PVC figure, that's a really beautiful one.

Well, maybe not figure specific, bit these deal with the hobby itself. Hobbyfan's forum, E2046's forum, and Garage Kit Japan. I'm a member with all 3, so feel at home knowing a fellow AS member is nearby

Seriously these ghostly white emotes are freaking me out
