But that said, when it comes to the end of the world, it's only 'natural' that alot of mess up things happen This is pretty true for any civilization.

You know what I find most amusing about all the bitching with Horizon? It's that it reminds me of my experiences with Fate/Zero? Were it not for having the opportunity to watch Fate/Stay Night and having the benefit of knowing someone who I can ask questions to about things I don't get right off the bat (I don't really see this as problem by the way) I'd probably be about where I am now with this show. Piecing things together by the episode and working out who people are and what they are talking about.
Funny that both shows should be paced for two cours (a fact many people seem strangely unaware of even though it should be obvious) and taking the same slow approach with lots of characters appearing all at once and scheming in the background and yet one is this godlike show to people and the other "too confusing". And yeah it really sounds like a lot of people aren't taking the opportunity to watch the legal TAN version of the show. It would definitely account for the seeming absolute and utter confusion that seems rampant with a lot people's reaction to this show. Other than that the only other thing I can think of is impatience and/or not paying attention. I really don't see this as being too differently executed than your average large scale sci-fi/fantasy franchise. There's always lots of characters in these and it's often a slow build and the kick into high gear is on pace if maybe one episode later than usual, so it could just be that people still aren't able to handle shows like these anymore. Can't remember the last show with a mammoth cast that wasn't from some internationally well known VN/LN franchise that didn't get criticized a lot for it. |

Yeah I've been told that's it too. I wonder how much of it is fans of the actual Fate and how much of it is fans looking to bandwagon on the latest popular writer. Also Archon isn't a real hater, you'd have to visit 4Chan or MAL for that. Lately I'd say MAL has the edge though.

Another thing that I don't think that will be explained in the anime is that Kazuno can't just spam that cannon; as you guys can see in beginning of episode 4, she is gravity based control power (all robots have that, that's how you see one of them stuck on the side of the hill back in episode 3 before ambushing that watcher), using that force as propulsion for that kind of distance will cause her body to overheat (in a bad way). I'm surprised nobody complained about some of these "obvious" bugs in the story (unlike GC thread everyone just nitpicked every single damn thing that went unexplained). Quote:

I just assumed she couldn't, because right after the first ship got shot, the second one immediately turn on its "Defensa" or something, which I think she knew it's no use to shoot at.

Well I think it's because there are actually less things to absorb in Fate/Zero than in Horizon, not because of F/SN but rather because the world of Fate/Zero is pretty much the same as our modern world, but Horizon is like High Fantasy and Extreme Science Fiction rolled up into one- it has almost zero resemblance to anything we can relate, which means we have to learn everything from scratch- Everything from History to Geography to even their slangs. Then another thing I've noticed is that Horizon's characters have more difficult names to remember, and if your feudal Japanese history is not up to snuff, alot will fly over your head.

Another difference between Horizon and F/Z, imo, is that while F/Z spend 40min just doing character background and lots of chatting (while walking in circles) without much action, Horizon ep1 is full of it.
The thing is in Horizon ep1 you got one awesome fluid fight sequence from start to finish, then greeted by one weird background story setting rushed out in the final minute or so. The people who got hooked by the fight will get let down by amount of talking and time jumping in the next two episodes. Heck, some people i know actually still wonder why the "confession", being 'the main focus of this series', is so lackluster after that flashback. People who are into sci-fi shows that I know got put off by the colourful cast and the boob size. Fate zero does the solid thing of slowly progressing through the time line, while giving each camp enough time to develop their own side story without too much background knowledge required. My point is, the difference in the first episode builds up two different types of expectations on the following two episodes. While Horizon does have a lot more to cover, it also suffers from the fact that the first episode might draw in a large contingent of completely unsuitable crowd.

Funniest thing, I know some people who call it "just another generic harem series".
What I'm trying to say is that, even if the world setting is the same, the differences in the expectation will cause a lot of conflicts

and I agree with Kaioshin Sama about impatience. also about boob size, there's a lot of pettanko, don't just saw the bigger one, beside the bust size was already reduced compare to the novel just like Duo Maxwell's said. Quote:
