You're missing my point. If the episodes I get from them aren't complete, no matter the reason, then I'm not going to watch episodes from them. From the perspective of a viewer, I can't trust their releases. It doesn't matter why. It doesn't matter whose fault it is. All that matters is that what they're putting out is missing content. I can see that content by watching someone else's releases. CR's therefore hold no attraction.

However, extrapolating Girls und Panzer's exceptional issues with foreign, unlicense-able historical music to the rest of Crunchyroll's lineup is completely ridiculous. Insisting that this kind of incident makes Crunchyroll somehow "untrustworthy" is simply wilfull ignorance. There are plenty of series for which Crunchyroll is a perfectly legitimate "best option" for subtitles.

The better arguments for whether its worth switching over for this series are 1. whether Crunchyroll will bother providing subtitles for AKB0048's numerous insert songs and 2. subtitling speed. Though there are a number of series for which Crunchy's subs come out nearly instantaneously (a mere 30 minutes after the first Japanese airing), Crunchyroll disappointed me last season by having most of the series I was interested in come out several days late. If the present group still manages to beat out Crunchy with its current quality, I will likely not switch over.

Was able to check only the new opening so far. Liked it, although to give it a better judgment, will need to check the HD version.

Something on the OP that imo is very interesting, at the very end they show the 9 kenkyusei, the 8 current successors we know, plus 10 more girls. They don't seems to be the 76th girls, nor a graduated we know. My guess they're all the other current successors we tend to see only here and there on the background. Which may mean the current total of successors AKB0048 have would be 18. I wonder what are their names and numbers.

WHAT A END! Seriously, waiting a whole week until the rest of the top... well if i got it right it's just preliminary/interin results, and not the definitive yet, but wasn't expecting something like that this soon.
All in all great episode. The whole variety show was fun (Mimori so erotic~ XD). So there is a rumor someone is backing Chieri from behind, which I guess is her father considering what he says in the episode. Although she obviously have no idea about it.
Great songs for the OP and ED. Although the OP all in all was a bit weak, reusing too much animation from EP 14 and season 1. Considering one of the 10 girls who appear on the end of the OP is the Kitarie 9th we were show in the episode, I guess the other 9 are indeed current successors. About the ED, poor Kanata, she is the only one that have a tragic like scene during it...
Something interesting to note is that Yuuko is revealed to be from the 72th generation of Kenkyusei. Which means Kojiharu also is from that generation. If each generation always have a one year between then, Yuuko would have joined AKB around 6 years ago.
Nice to see the girls being able to fight their anxiety during the episode, although the part at the end may shake them up a little again.
EDIT: Actually the other 8 on senbatsu would likely be the 8 main successors with Yuuko on top.

But just some variety show comedy (it happens, rather, it happened in another idol anime)... Can't say much happened until the end, but they stopped at 9th during the announcement... ( -_-) Next time I guess, but I wonder if any of the main girls get in the top 10.

Love the ED, though Kanata is on the ground (acting, probably, I guess) and Chieri is pointing... somewhere (is it that? The sky?), not a bad thing though.

PS: Compared to the first season, Linda's voice actor has gotten better. As in, I can finally understand what she is saying now.

Unlikely. The other understudies need to do a lot more work to catch up to Chieri in terms of popularity. They will do so at some point, specially Nagisa, but right now they're still far behind.

The Zodiac Corporation holds a huge amount of influence in the DGTO corporate court. Consisting of a large amount of the weapon fabrication plants, they are seen as a necessary group in maintaining control. The Horoscope Squad acts as advance scouts and infilitrators of the AEPS which had allowed for the invasion of Atamistar and kidnapping the idols. Their loyalty is to Mr. Sono alone and they serve with distinction. Two of their agents Aries and Taurus was taken out by Rabbit during the Kasugumistar concert when Aries was killed by a zero point burst DJ Disk Shot by Diamant and Taurus was gunned down by Ronaldo's mech company.

This does not exclude them from scrutiny, a radical group calling itself "Reapers" had formed within DES ranks as they take their hatred of entertainment to untold levels and realized the greatest enemy was within. Their forces act mostly as internal affairs as well as a proponent of shifting from "banning entertainment" to outright extermination of all emotions, namely happiness, they have attempted extremely unethical mind control experiments and even attempted to pass planet buster weapons into the corporate court. They have been so far rejected stating the current technology is sufficient in controlling the population. Resentful of that measure they decide to take matter into their own hands...by using Mr. Sono as a scapegoat as his intentions with Chieri has made them very suspicious he may be a rogue element. Regardless, rule under a Reaper guided DGTO can shift the fight heavily against AEPS favor as Diamant quote

"The Reapers won't rest until they have burned every planet to the ground, destroyed all forms of feelings of humanity and ushered in a deafening silence which will condemn humanity for all eternity"

It's a popularity ranking and Chieri's currently the most popular understudy, so don't expect Nagisa or any other of them getting the cut this time. Of course, this are preliminary results, so things might change for the actual election.

Like Kazu-kun said, no other Kenkyusei should enter the top at this point. The remaining 8 are likely the 8 successors the story focus on. Nagisa need a boom of some kind to enter the run for senbatsu, and my guess she may get it with succession. If she does indeed become the next Acchan, that may be a big step for her to get there. Chieri is another one I think my succeed before the results of the elections putting her almost on the top. Btw the final 10 girls may be those 8 plus Nagisa and Chieri.

Thanks a lot for that info. Interesting that from the "top 30 AKB Girls" rank I made based on the mean results their average result in the 4 general elections, only 9 names are left after I marked those 10 names as full (I'm also not count9ing girls that graduated long ago or are from sister group, not even temporary on AKB). The 9 remaining names are:
Maeda Atsuko, Shinoda Mariko, Kasai Tomomi, Matsui Jurina, Sashihara Rino, Minegishi Minami, Satou Amina, Watanabe Miyuki, Miyazaki Miho.
The more experienced AKB fans can see the 77th and 75th girls fill up those spots?

While reviewing the video of the last known elections, rookie Yuko then sounded like she wanted to take on the world, and Chieri (I loved her reaction face) looked as if she could be taking much heat from a determined, ambitious senior -- and Yuko's true motives could be a little worrisome to think about.

In effect and now set up as rivals for Center Nova, for Chieri, Yuko could become her frienemy.

That may be more than those names available, and I'm not sure whether all of those "exists" in AKB0048 universe. From them, the ones we heard in the anime so far, so it means they exist, are Sasshi, Tomo-mi, Mariko, Acchan, Mii-chan. I listed those 9 because I think the main girls are succeeding more popular members, and those seems to be the ones left (but them I don't know nowhere as much as the actual AKB48 fans, so my guess may be wrong).

Also we had a whole episode about Orine wanting to become Sasshi, and trying to improve herself to be able to. So even if she doesn't fit the position much now she will likely become that name.

Yuuka then, more than once said she was set in becoming Mariko. I would also expect her to be able to fulfill that ambition. Just because previous Mariko became a manager, doesn't means Linda that is aiming for staff would need to become Mariko for later getting that role.

Well, ultimately the kirara decides based on the soul. Makoto is a too similar to Sasshi not to happen. As for Linda, her personality fits Mariko better than Yuka imo but it's debatable.

I'm so glad I watched some of the subbed episodes of AKBingo between seasons so I could understand the show they were doing. I just wish they'd done the game where the girls have to answer questions about each other and get a cream pie in the face if they're wrong -- just imagine the hilarity of Sonata being the one asking and no one being able to guess her insane answers.

Given how Kanata's relationship with Takamina developed last season, I think she's the most likely candidate for Minegishi. Seeing the two of them kicking ass side by side would be awesome.
