I definitely think it's best for people to read the details and the author's hints in the novel on their own instead of having answers handed to them on a platter.
Part of the purpose of a discussion thread is the fun of speculation, preferably with everyone on the same page, without "elite" posters pulling out new facts only when it serves to help them win arguments. I like this guess, but you can judge for yourself by seeing how Masatsugu approaches naval warfare in Volume 3.

Still, no matter who his true identity is, this guy already enter my list of best harem mc of all.time. No awkwardness toward opposite gender, a master in handling a girl, and most importantly, not a virgin. Looking forward how he will handle the harem.

Campione: Kusanagi Godou - was initially sorta-kinda averse to getting EPIC HISTORY LESSONS via kissing, but he got used to it with the consecutive battles against gods in his life Meiyaku no Leviathan: Haruga Haruomi - is actually a closet pervert, has no visible qualms about initiating intimate physical contact with the Witches around him in order to confer magical power to them Chronicle Legion: Tachibana Masatsugu - seems to be a "man of many tastes"/"man of wide strike zones" back in his previous life and in his current life, has no qualms about taking ectoplasmic fluid essence from his princess to fuel his army (but he still considers the feelings of the other party first, at least) I can say the author's getting better. |

On Masatsugu's identity, my first guess is Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
He is Japanese, has a bad relationship with his previous master (Yoritomo), and has connections to Mongolia. For the last part, there is a legend in Japan that he faked his death and ended up in Mongolia and becomes Genghis Khan. While it has no historical basis at all for the third point, this is Campione's author we are talking about and I won't be surprised if he uses this connection. One thing against this theory is that it seems like Hatsune will have the appelation of Yoshitsune instead. |

While somebody from Mongol seems to be a very obvious choice, it might be possible that the author is throwing a curveball and Masatsugu might be Xiongnu, Turks, Huns, or Japanese.
By the way, drinking the blood of horses to ease logistics during the war is a well documented practice of Mongol army. The author really did his research on this one. |

So far, we've only seen 3 Feat of Arms (Noble Phantasms ):
Akigase Rikka's Onikiri Yasutsuna: Onigiri no Tachi - user can cut down Legions by themselves Tachibana Masatsugu's Izumi-no-Kami Kanesada: Gankouken - grants any Legions under control with katanas (probably made of spiritual steel, folded 10000x) and Tennen Rishu sword style Sir Black Knight's Archers of Crécy - grants any Legions under control with big black longbows I look forward to what the other Returnees can use as their Feat of Arms, especially Julius Caesar and Richard the Lionheart. The former, probably related to Crocea Mors and "veni, vedi, vici". The latter, well... related to lions probably. |

I understand people prefer to pick on the hints and try to make guesses. I'm the one who doesn't mind spoilers and would gladly accept as much intel as possible.
But if zzhk prefers things to stay this way, I don't mind, as long as the translation proceeds So... A japanese warrior may have become Genghis Khan? Now that's intriguing... Also, once again, when a writer uses historical or mythological characters, he/she depicts them as it suits him/her... Usually as fetish-pandering-looking entities, far from how RL pictures depict them. EDIT: By the way, zzhk... Are you gonna try to become a bakapervert 2.0? ^What do you mean by that? I think its more like I'm the one that trying to become a cheap copy of zzhk.
Anyway, Masatsugu's true identity could possibly from another country that is not Japan? Or is his identity will surely be a Japanese general?

Well, I'm not trying to be rude... Zzhk indeed faster than Bakapervert...
If Bakapervert speed is around 7 to 8 Mach... Zzhk is 10 Mach.. And for Js06... he is around 50 Mach... which I think he is computers not a man... Is this Harem??

You guys should know that fan translation talk is frowned upon in Animesuki threads. If you want to talk about fan translators, do it on a fan translation site.
Please stick to discussing the contents of the novel. Japanese would be unlikely, since there's the part about riding across thousands of miles.

Volume 1 completed~
Well done, zzhk. I guess I was wrong to think that the fighting would end in one volume. This entire series of battles would be spread out over a story arc or so. Oddly enough, the Three Kingdoms comparison truly does fit the story now. Imperial Japan, the British Empire and the Roman Empire are the main players in fields at the moment. |

zzhk, what's you bet on Masatsugu's true identity? I think you haven't given one yet.
And don't ask me, I'm not even trying (I don't know much of historical figures to manage such a feat ) Now... Gotta wait for Vol02... Can't you add the illustrations of the other volumes on B-T? EDIT: And, as I've read Vol01, now I understand the supposed steamy scenes I've seen in illustrations Last edited by RDNexus; 2016-07-17 at 10:36. |

Seems like there's a lot of terms used from the first volume that I'll have to remember. The most important one is Legion and I want to see their true potential. Kinda agreed about the MC as he has that sort of alpha personality lol
