Just going to comment that god I hated summarizing this part due to how hard it is to summarize. I can’t help but notice that the difficulty of summarizing goes up whenever Rentaro talks to smart people (Sumire being the prime example).
This part is entirely filled with conversations with a 200 IQ loli.

Rentora and Ikuma’s initiator whose name is revealed to be Kayo Senju are sitting at the fire place inside the cottage.
Rentaro had fixed up her wounds (which he noted healed far slower then Enju) and had sent Enju outside as a guard. Enju complied but jealously said, “I can’t accept this kind of girl” and “that kind of wound I can fix in 3 minutes”.
Rentaro wanted to snark that 3 minutes isn’t possible for her but upon seeing how unhappy she is held his tongue.
Kayo emotionlessly commented that she somehow let Enju get very angry.
Rentaro questioned why Enju suddenly had a bipolar change in mood and asked that is it possible that she had already reached a rebellious stage?
Kayo informed him that to her the reason seemed quite obvious.
Rentaro thought to himself that since this girl is so emotionless, it’s hard to understand. When they met at the ministry of defense meeting, Rentaro thought she was a girl with more humor, did he misjudge her character?
Upon noticing Rentaro staring intently at her, she asked if she is weird.
Realizing that he’s staring, Rentaro turned his face away and said to her that it’s nothing.
The girl told Rentaro that he shouldn’t feel embarrassed. She’s already used to being stared at since she’s a first generation cursed children. She then commented that since she inherited the dolphin genes she can remember better than most initiators, and that her IQ is 210.
Rentaro is shocked since her IQ is double his, but she informed him that the tests results are exaggerated causing Rentaro to be impressed by her humility.
Rentaro then asks if she’s the one that makes the plans while Ikuma charges in. He comments that this style is rare in an initiator/promoter combo.
She responds that since he’s an idiot whose brain is composed of mostly muscle she has to make the plans.
Rentaro then asks to have her show him her shotgun.
She asked him what would happen if she said no.
Rentaro says that, that’s fine if she has no feelings for the fact that he saved her.
After hearing that Kayo hands over the shotgun while commenting that she learned that she can’t count on, good will without something in return.
Rentaro checks over the gun, notices it’s a Shibi 2027 model and that it has a grenade launcher attached to it.
He checks on the grenade launcher notices that it’s been used and then asks her why she used it in the forest. Because of that, he and Enju almost got killed and also no sound is one of the iron clad rules that shouldn’t be broken under any circumstances when in a gastrea filled area.
Kayo hugs her knees and reveals that it’s because she and Ikuma fell into a trap. After landing they saw light, and thinking it was a fellow teammate went to greet them. However it was a flying gastrea, which had strange flowers growing out of it, and emitted light from its tail. Because it was terrifying, Kayo thought she would be instantly killed so used a grenade launcher and ran away. While running away she got separated from Ikuma and bitten by the gastrea. Fortunately it was a small wound.
After thinking it through, Rentaro deduced that, that gastrea was likely a firefly type. He revealed that while it’s true that for the most part, fireflies are peaceful insects that only eat pollen and honey there’s a certain vicious type of carnivorous firefly that via mimicking the light of usual fireflies, attracts prey. That gastrea is using the same trick to attract humans. He also reveals that the flower on the gastrea is likely orchid flowers. This flower type emits a strong smell that attracts insects so as to help spread its pollen. The type that is on the gastrea probably has been synthesized to attract humans instead. He concludes that it’s rare to see a gastrea that has both the traits of a plant and an animal and that it’s likely a stage 3 gastrea based on its characteristics.
Kayo is surprised that a gastrea can be so crafty but Rentaro responds that, it’s not surprising at all. Humans won’t lose to idiotic creatures after all.
Kayo falls in silence for a bit, before signing and teasingly said that she’s surprised that Rentaro can solve the mystery of a never before seen gastrea. He’s actually a nerd (or something to that extent, the word here is hard to translate into English).
Rentaro tells her embarrassingly that she shouldn’t mention that.
Kayo ignores him and continues her teasing (at this point I don’t have a clue what she’s teasing Rentaro beyond something to do with him having a miserable childhood, I can figure it out with some dictionary help but to lazy >_<).
Anyways her teasing causes Rentaro to sulk to himself.
In response to that Kayo lets out a small smile and comments how she’s jealous of Enju for having such an interesting initiator.
Rentaro asks if she and her promoter get along.
She doesn’t answer the question and instead says that initiators are a weapon of killing.
She then comments that Enju doesn’t seem like the type to have killed anyone before.
Rentaro responds no and asks her if she killed people before.
She replies that she has killed people before, on orders of Ikuma because it gets rid of competition, which causes Rentaro to ask if she feels guilt. She responds that it was hard the first time but it’s nothing special, and she thinks that she’ll get used to it soon.

Kayo responds that Rentaro understands how that feels because he killed people in the past and that he must have had a complex past. She also comments on how gentle yet terrifying his eyes are.
Rentaro tells her that does she understand why Enju speaks so arrogantly? It’s because she feels that she’s the great protector of humanity so therefore she can puff up her chest with pride. It’s very natural for her.
He then reveals that Enju almost killed someone in the past. When that happened she was in despair but once that person got saved she was a bundle of joy for a day. That’s the way, it should be.
Kayo tells Rentaro that’s just idealistic words.
Rentaro slowly got off her, turned around and apologized to her for being pretentious.
However surprisingly she asks him why he’s apologizing. She reveals that well, she can think of many counters to Rentaro’s argument she doesn’t feel like saying it, and that he’s right in a way.
After that Rentaro comments to himself, that she’s a 10 year old girl after all. They chat some more about the gastrea war and how it caused a rapid development in weapons of war such as “Heaven’s ladder”.
Kayo also comments on the “new human creation plan” and how it’s a program that through a combination of human experiments, varium, and cutting edge technology, produced super soldiers that far surpassed humanity. Although she wouldn’t have believed it if she didn’t see for her own eyes how Kagetone has it.
Rentaro says that, that type of power is despicable and Kayo’s questions why, but just as Rentaro didn’t know how to respond Kayo’s radio started ringing.
It’s Ikuma who tells her that him and a group of civil security guards tracked Kagetone down at a nearby port town and tells her to hurry up and get there.
Hearing that, Rentaro, Enju and Kayo set off immediately.
As they reach the perimeter of the town, they hear the sound of gunfire and Kayo tells Rentaro that she’ll stay behind.
As Rentaro was about to question why, Kayo intercepts a deer shaped Gastrea and shoots it dead.
She reveals that gastrea have likely tracked them here via the sound gunfire and that if nobody stops them from going in, it’s going to end in an all-out massacre.
She then turns around and shoots a bird shaped gastrea dead.
Rentaro wants to help her but she insists that he goes and supports the team.
Rentaro reluctantly agrees but tells her that if she gets into trouble run.
She assures that she’ll escape when she’s at a disadvantage, and tells him to save Ikuma.
Rentaro agrees and he and Enju continue to the town.
In the town, it’s extremely silent and as Rentaro goes forth he assures himself that they (the group of civil security members) likely have won.
He meets Ikuma who deliriously asks Rentaro, “Have you seen my sword, as long as I have it I can battle”.
As it turns out his sword is inserted into his back and he slumps over dead soon after saying those words.
With growing dread Rentaro rounds the next corner only to be met with the smell of blood and a mountain of corpses. The bodies of initiators and promoters have been stacked together and there’s a sea of blood on the road.
At that point they heard a childish voice from the nearby bridge saying that it’s shocking how they’re still alive.
It’s Kagetone and Kahuna of course.
Rentaro couldn’t believe his eyes.
They’re not hurt at all despite the group of elites fighting them.
He laments to himself that he should’ve remained on standby until the rest civil security came knowing Kagetone’s strength or a least run away the instance he saw Ikuma dead.
Kagetone gleefully points out that he knew that Rentaro would show up to stop him.
Then in a dramatic fashion he said:
“The prelude is over. Now let’s have our showdown. Rentaro Satomi”.

Yep, Rentaro does use Heaven’s Ladder to kill the level 5 gastrea.
As for award……….. He gets promoted from IP 120000 to IP 1000 which Seitenshi noted is enough to get into the record books for fastest IP increases.
He and Kisara are still piss poor though. They’ll likely remain that way for a long time. Their poorness is one of the jokes that this series like to abuse over and over again.
He also becomes very well known among the top authorities as the hero who saved Tokyo. But since the government didn’t leak this case out to public, Rentaro isn’t well known in public.
Take note that getting the attention of the top isn’t a good thing for Rentaro. Like I noted before, Tokyo isn’t strong and the amount of mechanized soldiers they have likely only consists of Rentaro and Tina when she joins.
Now that the top authorities, know about Rentaro’s case guess who they’re going to call on whenever shit needs to get done?
On the bright side of all this, he does unlock the Seitenshi route.
Now onto chapter 4. Boy this one is even longer then chapter 3 part 2.
And difficult to summarize.
At some points I just said screw it and translated it instead.

Spoiler for volume 1 chapter 4 part 1:
An electronic eye 800 meters above the confrontation between Rentaro and Kagetone are currently watching their standoff.
It’s connected to the Tokyo’s National Security of Defense council.
They just watched Kagetone and Kohina slaughter 29 people (15 promoters, 14 initiators).
Seitenshi signed and asked if there’s any other civil security members nearby but the ministry of defense tells her that it’ll take one hour at the very least to get there.
After that, Kikunojyo and the ministry of defense urge Seitenshi to make a decision (not revealed what that decision is but one can infer that, that decision is likely to reveal this case to public and start evacuating).
Just as Seitenshi was about to reply, Kisara barged in.
She reveals that she got evidence of the ministry of the defense involvement from his subordinate. He’s the one supporting Kagetone in the shadows and he’s also the one that almost leaked info to the media about this case.
After presenting the evidence Kikunojyo orders the ministry of defense to be taken away.
Kisara was about to take her leave but got stopped by Seitenshi who reveals that now she’s here she can’t leave until everything’s over due to how confidential this case is.
Kisara expresses disappointment at not being able to leave but complies.
Kikunojyo angrily tells Kisara that she shouldn’t have come here and calls her a “ghost of revenge” from hell (grandfather of the year material right here).
Kisara sarcastically greets him back and informs him to not worry, she didn’t come here for her revenge this time. She’s only here to get rid of cockroaches and he just happened to be at the same place. However she coolly tells him that all Tendo will eventually die causing Kikunojyo to be more enraged (granddaughter of the year material right her).
As the two are about to come to blows Seitenshi cuts in and tells them to stop fighting. She asks for Kisara’s opinion on this case (aka what’s Rentaro’s chances of winning).
The scene cuts back to Rentaro at this point.
Rentaro asks Kagetone if their (Kagetone and Kohina) are the ones that did all this.
Kagetone responds that they didn’t want blood to defile the church (Kagetone’s highly implied to be Christian in case you didn’t notice). He also reveals that he finished all the preparations for invoking the level 5 gastrea. Now all that’s left is waiting.
Rentaro infers that the box is in the church and asks Kagetone does that mean that if he screwed up his preparations, the level 5 won’t come.
Kagetone replies that, that’s not possible since Kagetone and Kohina are in their way.
Rentaro tells Kagetone, that he’ll take Kagetone down if that’s the case.
Kagetone laughs and says, “I’m the one that’s going to bring about the destruction of the world, no one can stop me”.
The scene cuts back to Kisara and Seitenshi.
Seitenshi asks Kisara what are Rentaro’s chances of winning.
Kisara responds, that it’s about 30 percent. However if her ideal scenario happens they’ll win for sure.
The chief cabinet secretary cuts in and derisively tells her that she’s overestimating the people working under her. The chances are likely not even 1 percent given Kagetone’s strength.
Kisara however responds back that he’s mistaken. She tells the story of their past. How Rentaro sacrificed his right legs + arms and left eye to protect her.
At first the chief cabinet secretary doesn’t know where she’s going with this but once she reveals that Rentaro was taken to sector 22 to see Sumire he comes to a realization.
“Wait you said Dr. Sumire, don’t tell me he’s”-.
Seitenshi understanding that this is the right time orders Kikunojyo to hand out Rentaro’s info.
The scene cuts back to Rentaro once again.
Rentaro rolls up his uniforms sleeves and the right foots pants.
Rentaro then says that he’s going to stop Kagetone for the sake of Kisara and Enju and with that a crunching sound happened. The artificial skin of his right arm and right leg falls off.
The scene cuts back to the chief secretary who exclaimed that it’s impossible that there’s one more weapon made.
Cuts back to Rentaro again.
The changes that Rentaro undergoes are obvious. His hands and feet are now made of varium and his left eye’s color became distinct. His vision suddenly clears up and he’s able to perceive objects far more clearly now.
The Nano core in his eyes starts to calculate. Due to that it appears that pupil starts to rotate.
Kagetone is visibly surprised and questioned Rentaro on if he’s a mechanized soldier to.
Rentaro reintroduces himself to Kagetone, as belonging to the eastern force unit 787, part of the new human creation plan’s Rentaro Satomi.
Cut back to the meeting where it’s explained, that Rentaro’s prosthesis is made up of super varium. Normal varium combined with various hard metals to produce an extremely dense and hard type of varium. While Kagetone abilities belongs to the tactical thinking section 16 where the idea is using a repulsion force field to deflect any attack (even one from a stage 4 gastrea) Rentaro’s the opposite. Belonging to tactical thinking section 22, by using the release force of the bullets located in his arms and legs to generate immense acceleration resulting in an extraordinary attack.
After the explanation is done, it cuts back to Rentaro.
Kagetone is amused, at the fact that him and Rentaro are actually the same type and remarks that, that explains why he liked Rentaro the instant he saw him.
Enju is displeased that Rentaro is using “that” and remarked that Rentaro promised to not use that.
Rentaro remarked that there’s no problem and that if he doesn’t use this they’ll lose which would be even worse.
Enju nodded sharply and turned to face Kohina. Both of them liberated their strength and their eyes turned into a fire red color.
Cuts back to Kisara and co (for the last time).
Kisara thanks Kagetone, because so far no matter how much she motivated (read: kick his ass) Rentaro refused to get serious. Because he dislikes doing things seriously but right now he’s really angry. She had only seen Rentaro this angry once. Now no one can predict what happens.
Seitenshi continued Kisara’s speech:
“Everyone here understands the significance of this battle. Right now Kagetone and Rentaro fighting can be considered the battle between the strongest spear and the strongest shield. But there’ll be no contradiction. Fight Satomi-san and prove that you’re the strongest.”
Kisara then prayed that Rentaro would win.
Back to Rentaro.
The combatants each make their respective stances and Rentaro and Kagetone trash talk at each other.
Then Rentaro rushes in and uses a Tendo martial art fist skill that’s accelerated by releasing a bullet.
Kagetone uses [Maximum Pain] in response.
The clash of techniques blow them both back causing them to skid on the ground.
But it wasn’t a tie. Kagetone’s repulsion field got blown away, and he coughed up blood from the impact of Rentaro’s punch.
Kohina calls out in worry but Kagetone is actually happy that Rentaro can break his field.
He masochistically says:

When they came Rentaro went out of hiding and shot at Kagetone.
However Kohina intercepted his bullets with her blades shocking Rentaro.
As Rentaro continuously shot at Kohina his bullets are deflected in turn.
Meanwhile Kagetone leisurely replaced his bullets all while looking extremely creepy.
Rentaro came up with a plan and asked Enju how fast she can take down Kagetone.
Enju understanding Rentaro’s plan confidently replied 10 seconds and charged at Kagetone.
Kohina tried to intercept Enju but utilizing her superior speed Enju slipped by Kohina.
At this point it became a race to see which initiator can take out their rival promoters (or vice versa). While Kagetone will have trouble with Enju the same applies to Rentaro.
Using his eye Rentaro managed to avoid Kohina’s blade, and launch a counterattack.
Once again accelerating his fist by releasing the bullets inside, they both launched godspeed attacks at each other.
Fist met blade.
The impact sent them both back and Rentaro capitalizing on the sudden change in distance started shooting at Kohina while at the same time getting closer to her in hopes that the shrinking distance will give Kohina less time to react to Rentaro’s bullets.
Unfortunately even from 3 meters away Kohina’s reflexes still proved enough to dodge his bullets.
Seeing a chance Rentaro aimed at her head but regretted it instantly as she twisted her head, and closed the short distance in an instance. Realizing that he’s been baited, Rentaro once again managed to dodge her blade by pushing his eye to its limits to the point where it started overheating.
He grabbed her blade arm using a technique similar to a judo grab and tried to use a leg sweep to take her down.
But unfortunately he failed. Using her superior strength she broke out of his hold and jumped over his leg sweep. Using his body as a jumping board she jumped toward the direction where Enju and Kagetone were fighting.
Rentaro realizing what she is trying to do called out to Enju just in time for Enju to catch on and jump back avoiding Kohina’s cut.
This however left her open to Kagetone who capitalized on this opening to shot at her. One of his bullets hit her wrist.
Rentaro told Enju to get to the ground and took out another gun while taking one second to reload the other. Duel wielding two guns he pointed one at Kohina and another at Kagetone and started shooting.
Kohina deflected the bullets with her blades while Kagetone deflected the bullets with [Imaginary Gimmick].
Once he ran out of bullets he discarded his guns and took out a cylinder, throwing it at Kohina who cut it (Kagetone tried to warn her but it was too late) causing the release of a sonic boom and a flash of light.
The cylinder as it turns out is a combination between a flashbang and a bomb that releases high frequency shockwaves.
Rentaro demonstrated tactical brilliance by throwing it at Kohina, predicting that she as the more naďve and experienced of the two would cut it .
Kohina getting hit by the full blast hit the ground and screamed out in pain. Although the effects didn’t fully hit Kagetone he was paralyzed to.
Enju not missing this opportunity jumped at Kohina and kicked her. Kohina managed to intercept with her blades but the impact is too much. This kick caused her to fly 20 meters into the water.

Rentaro figuring that, that wasn’t enough used his gun to shot at the place where Kagetone landed.
After that he checked at Enju’s wound. Since she was hit by varium bullets her wounds aren’t healing.
After that, he checked in the waters. Figuring that there was no way Kagetone is going to be fine after getting hit by an impact that large, he got to reckless.
Immediately capitalizing on Rentaro’s recklessness a pair of hands dragged him into the water.
Seeing a mask dozens of centimeters from his face, Rentaro tried to shot at Kagetone but since it’s underwater the bullets force is dampened and Kagetone didn’t receive much harm.
Desperate to get away from Kagetone, Rentaro released the bullets in his limbs underwater causing a massive explosion.

Rentaro got up and sensing something is wrong looked at the black sea and his eyes met an unbelievable sight.

“Why hinder me? Why? The birth of the “new human creation plan” is for the purpose of killing. As long as the [monolith] falls, a new gastrea war begins, the meaning of our existence will be proven. Endless hate, endless war. We’ll be needed by people. Don’t you understand, Satomi-san? For us, the soldiers of the “new human creation plan” a constant world war with the gastrea will be our victory!”
Upon hearing that Rentaro’s head felt like it got hit by a club.
“Don’t tell me………. For this fucking reason you……..”
“So what if it’s just for that? Human extinction is a trivial thing. Without fighting there’ll be no one that needs us. Start a war! Provoke more struggles! This is a war born because of me, for me! I won’t let anyone hinder such a good thing”.
“You already spilled so much blood, yet you still intend to go down this road of killing.”
“That is just a grand experiment! Those that fell so easily at my hands can’t live in my ideal world. When it was revealed that your initiator is one of the cursed children how did the people around you react? Did they give their blessings? Did they cheer for her and let your hearts feel comfortable? The battle started once again. Enju and Kohina rushed each other and started fighting a close range battle. Kohina got the upper hand, and managed to throw Enju at Rentaro. Rentaro caught Enju however Kagetone aimed at them and shot.
Rentaro avoided the full impact of the bullet by throwing himself to the side.
His back received a sudden impact but due to Rentaro’s quick thinking he didn’t die immediately.
At this point Rentaro inserted the syringe that Sumire gave him into himself.
It’s revealed that it causes a similar regenerative property to gastrea (but it’s stronger and doesn’t get stopped by varium) for a period of time. Normally speaking this type of drug would be distributed everywhere but since it has 20% to turn a user into gastrea Sumire doesn’t freely hand it out.
Luckily Rentaro’s luck held and his wounds started regenerating without turning him into a gastrea. The effect is better than he hoped and his wounds regenerated completely causing the bullet that he got hit with to fall out.
Kagetone continued to shot at them but Rentaro protected Enju with his body (while also protecting his heart and head with his hands). He got hit but the wounds regenerated instantly.
At this point Rentaro started getting cocky thinking he can win with this but his arrogance didn’t last a couple of seconds.
Getting into melee range (which Rentaro found highly questionable since he had the advantage in melee) Kagetone put his hand at Rentaro’s abdomen.
“It’s finished. I’ll let you see my pride”.
That sound vibrated through Rentaro’s skull.
“ENDLESS SCREAM”.
Suddenly a strong impact hit Rentaro. Rentaro felt himself him floating.
A technique that focused the repulsion field in one direction.
This impact caused Rentaro’s entire right abdominal area to disappear. A hole had opened up in his body. Internal organs and huge amounts of blood started leaking out.
Rentaro shocked touched his abdomen area and muttered, “what……… what?”
“You lose”.
At this point Rentaro fell and a pool of blood formed. Not even Sumire’s drug can heal Rentaro now. Despite literally feeling his cells scream out and try to multiple quick enough to cover the damage, Rentaro understood that it wasn’t fast enough. He heard Enju scream something but didn’t hear her. Appalling darkness begin to take over.
Enju who upon seeing Rentaro fall had lost her will to fight, was being mercilessly beaten by Kohina. Kagetone had turned his gun towards towards her and is prepared to shoot her.
Enju screamed some more things but Rentaro couldn’t hear her.
Rentaro understood that the death god’s hand is reaching towards him. Death awaited. His eyelids felt so heavy so he started closing it.
However Enju’s voice suddenly echoed, “Don’t die, Rentaro. Nothing has started yet! You can’t leave me alone!”
Hearing that Rentaro eyes suddenly flew open. Forcing his hand to move to the rest of the 4 drugs that Sumire gave him, he injected it all into his abdomen.
With a cracking sound, everything started a new. Rentaro’s body felt inflamed as everything that Rentaro lost came back. Blood, muscles, drooping intestines, lost nerves, bones, the extinct cells.
Rentaro’s body died at an extreme rate but regenerated at an even more extreme rate.
This process caused extreme pain, enough as to cause Rentaro to scream out loud and row around in pain.
As Rentaro stood up he felt the world get distorted. He saw the death god get defeated by him.
His body felt very hot. Severe headache and nausea assaulted him.
Why Rentaro can still stand? Not even he himself understands.
But the hand is still moving, the legs are still moving, he’s still alive.
Upon seeing this display, Kagetone was shocked and muttered, “Satomi-san……. What did you.”
Rentaro used ferocious eyes to glare at Kagetone and took an offensive stance. He then took a deep breath and by releasing bullets in his legs propelled himself forward to his natural enemy.
Kohina intercepted him.
“Cut!”
“Scram!”
Rentaro released three bullets in his arms this time and the resulting clash with Kohina ended in his victory. He had with overwhelming force blown her away causing her to have a violent collision with the wall and slumped over unconscious.
Rentaro didn’t stop there. He accelerated at Kagetone again, and avoided his bullets.
Rentaro once again used a Tendo fist technique while Kagetone used Endless Scream.
The resulting class between unmovable object and resolute force caused shockwaves to resound throughout the area.
Rentaro was gradually getting pushed back, but begin releasing bullets in his arms to push back.
The first bullet pushed back.
The second bullet started overwhelming Kagetone.
The third bullet ended the clash of techniques and with a sharp supersonic uppercut, sent Kagetone flying 10 meters into the air.
However Rentaro didn’t stop there.
He jumped up and used a tendo technique while releasing every last bullet in his leg.
Kagetone seeing his own defeat disappointingly said, “I see……… I lost to you”.
Kagetone then got hit with an impact strong enough to send him skidding along the water like a pebble, smashing two boats in the process before smashing into the water with enough force to cause a water column to raise giving one the impression of a mini tsunami. He had flew more than 100 meters in the process. He then sunk into the water.
Using his artificial limbs to such an extent caused them to emit steam.
Rentaro warily stared at the sea for 20 seconds before turning to Enju and joyfully said, “Yeah, we won! YAHOO!”
However Enju didn’t share his joy.
Noticing Enju staring at something Rentaro turned his head to see Kohina clutching her knees and muttering in despair, “How can this happen. Papa, papa”.
Enju stared at Rentaro with mixed feelings and Rentaro nodded and said, “she’s no longer our enemy.”
At this point Rentaro’s phone vibrated and from it came a relieved yet confident tone.
It’s Kisara obviously and her voice caused Rentaro’s eyes to water from joy.
Rentaro told her that he fulfilled their promise and won.
But Kisara told him some very bad news.
“Listen calmly, Stage 5 Gastrea appeared. Tokyo region is already over. Everyone’s going to die. No one can be save”.
Yep, Rentaro does use Heaven’s Ladder to kill the level 5 gastrea.
As for award……….. He gets promoted from IP 120000 to IP 1000 which Seitenshi noted is enough to get into the record books for fastest IP increases.
He and Kisara are still piss poor though. They’ll likely remain that way for a long time. Their poorness is one of the jokes that this series like to abuse over and over again.
He also becomes very well known among the top authorities as the hero who saved Tokyo. But since the government didn’t leak this case out to public, Rentaro isn’t well known in public.
Take note that getting the attention of the top isn’t a good thing for Rentaro. Like I noted before, Tokyo isn’t strong and the amount of mechanized soldiers they have likely only consists of Rentaro and Tina when she joins.
Now that the top authorities, know about Rentaro’s case guess who they’re going to call on whenever shit needs to get done?
On the bright side of all this, he does unlock the Seitenshi route.
Now onto chapter 4. Boy this one is even longer then chapter 3 part 2.

An electronic eye 800 meters above the confrontation between Rentaro and Kagetone are currently watching their standoff.
It’s connected to the Tokyo’s National Security of Defense council.

Seitenshi signed and asked if there’s any other civil security members nearby but the ministry of defense tells her that it’ll take one hour at the very least to get there.
After that, Kikunojyo and the ministry of defense urge Seitenshi to make a decision (not revealed what that decision is but one can infer that, that decision is likely to reveal this case to public and start evacuating).
Just as Seitenshi was about to reply, Kisara barged in.
She reveals that she got evidence of the ministry of the defense involvement from his subordinate. He’s the one supporting Kagetone in the shadows and he’s also the one that almost leaked info to the media about this case.
After presenting the evidence Kikunojyo orders the ministry of defense to be taken away.
Kisara was about to take her leave but got stopped by Seitenshi who reveals that now she’s here she can’t leave until everything’s over due to how confidential this case is.
Kisara expresses disappointment at not being able to leave but complies.
Kikunojyo angrily tells Kisara that she shouldn’t have come here and calls her a “ghost of revenge” from hell (grandfather of the year material right here).
Kisara sarcastically greets him back and informs him to not worry, she didn’t come here for her revenge this time. She’s only here to get rid of cockroaches and he just happened to be at the same place. However she coolly tells him that all Tendo will eventually die causing Kikunojyo to be more enraged (granddaughter of the year material right her).
As the two are about to come to blows Seitenshi cuts in and tells them to stop fighting. She asks for Kisara’s opinion on this case (aka what’s Rentaro’s chances of winning).
The scene cuts back to Rentaro at this point.
Rentaro asks Kagetone if their (Kagetone and Kohina) are the ones that did all this.
Kagetone responds that they didn’t want blood to defile the church (Kagetone’s highly implied to be Christian in case you didn’t notice). He also reveals that he finished all the preparations for invoking the level 5 gastrea. Now all that’s left is waiting.
Rentaro infers that the box is in the church and asks Kagetone does that mean that if he screwed up his preparations, the level 5 won’t come.
Kagetone replies that, that’s not possible since Kagetone and Kohina are in their way.
Rentaro tells Kagetone, that he’ll take Kagetone down if that’s the case.
Kagetone laughs and says, “I’m the one that’s going to bring about the destruction of the world, no one can stop me”.
The scene cuts back to Kisara and Seitenshi.
Seitenshi asks Kisara what are Rentaro’s chances of winning.
Kisara responds, that it’s about 30 percent. However if her ideal scenario happens they’ll win for sure.
The chief cabinet secretary cuts in and derisively tells her that she’s overestimating the people working under her. The chances are likely not even 1 percent given Kagetone’s strength.
Kisara however responds back that he’s mistaken. She tells the story of their past. How Rentaro sacrificed his right legs + arms and left eye to protect her.
At first the chief cabinet secretary doesn’t know where she’s going with this but once she reveals that Rentaro was taken to sector 22 to see Sumire he comes to a realization.
“Wait you said Dr. Sumire, don’t tell me he’s”-.
Seitenshi understanding that this is the right time orders Kikunojyo to hand out Rentaro’s info.
The scene cuts back to Rentaro once again.
Rentaro rolls up his uniforms sleeves and the right foots pants.
Rentaro then says that he’s going to stop Kagetone for the sake of Kisara and Enju and with that a crunching sound happened. The artificial skin of his right arm and right leg falls off.
The scene cuts back to the chief secretary who exclaimed that it’s impossible that there’s one more weapon made.
Cuts back to Rentaro again.
The changes that Rentaro undergoes are obvious. His hands and feet are now made of varium and his left eye’s color became distinct. His vision suddenly clears up and he’s able to perceive objects far more clearly now.
The Nano core in his eyes starts to calculate. Due to that it appears that pupil starts to rotate.
Kagetone is visibly surprised and questioned Rentaro on if he’s a mechanized soldier to.
Rentaro reintroduces himself to Kagetone, as belonging to the eastern force unit 787, part of the new human creation plan’s Rentaro Satomi.
Cut back to the meeting where it’s explained, that Rentaro’s prosthesis is made up of super varium. Normal varium combined with various hard metals to produce an extremely dense and hard type of varium. While Kagetone abilities belongs to the tactical thinking section 16 where the idea is using a repulsion force field to deflect any attack (even one from a stage 4 gastrea) Rentaro’s the opposite. Belonging to tactical thinking section 22, by using the release force of the bullets located in his arms and legs to generate immense acceleration resulting in an extraordinary attack.
After the explanation is done, it cuts back to Rentaro.
Kagetone is amused, at the fact that him and Rentaro are actually the same type and remarks that, that explains why he liked Rentaro the instant he saw him.
Enju is displeased that Rentaro is using “that” and remarked that Rentaro promised to not use that.
Rentaro remarked that there’s no problem and that if he doesn’t use this they’ll lose which would be even worse.
Enju nodded sharply and turned to face Kohina. Both of them liberated their strength and their eyes turned into a fire red color.
Cuts back to Kisara and co (for the last time).
Kisara thanks Kagetone, because so far no matter how much she motivated (read: kick his ass) Rentaro refused to get serious. Because he dislikes doing things seriously but right now he’s really angry. She had only seen Rentaro this angry once. Now no one can predict what happens.
Seitenshi continued Kisara’s speech:
“Everyone here understands the significance of this battle. Right now Kagetone and Rentaro fighting can be considered the battle between the strongest spear and the strongest shield. But there’ll be no contradiction. Fight Satomi-san and prove that you’re the strongest.”
Kisara then prayed that Rentaro would win.

The combatants each make their respective stances and Rentaro and Kagetone trash talk at each other.

The battle started once again. Enju and Kohina rushed each other and started fighting a close range battle. Kohina got the upper hand, and managed to throw Enju at Rentaro. Rentaro caught Enju however Kagetone aimed at them and shot.
Rentaro avoided the full impact of the bullet by throwing himself to the side.
His back received a sudden impact but due to Rentaro’s quick thinking he didn’t die immediately.
At this point Rentaro inserted the syringe that Sumire gave him into himself.
It’s revealed that it causes a similar regenerative property to gastrea (but it’s stronger and doesn’t get stopped by varium) for a period of time. Normally speaking this type of drug would be distributed everywhere but since it has 20% to turn a user into gastrea Sumire doesn’t freely hand it out.
Luckily Rentaro’s luck held and his wounds started regenerating without turning him into a gastrea. The effect is better than he hoped and his wounds regenerated completely causing the bullet that he got hit with to fall out.
Kagetone continued to shot at them but Rentaro protected Enju with his body (while also protecting his heart and head with his hands). He got hit but the wounds regenerated instantly.
At this point Rentaro started getting cocky thinking he can win with this but his arrogance didn’t last a couple of seconds.
Getting into melee range (which Rentaro found highly questionable since he had the advantage in melee) Kagetone put his hand at Rentaro’s abdomen.
“It’s finished. I’ll let you see my pride”.
That sound vibrated through Rentaro’s skull.
“ENDLESS SCREAM”.
Suddenly a strong impact hit Rentaro. Rentaro felt himself him floating.
A technique that focused the repulsion field in one direction.
This impact caused Rentaro’s entire right abdominal area to disappear. A hole had opened up in his body. Internal organs and huge amounts of blood started leaking out.
Rentaro shocked touched his abdomen area and muttered, “what……… what?”
“You lose”.
At this point Rentaro fell and a pool of blood formed. Not even Sumire’s drug can heal Rentaro now. Despite literally feeling his cells scream out and try to multiple quick enough to cover the damage, Rentaro understood that it wasn’t fast enough. He heard Enju scream something but didn’t hear her. Appalling darkness begin to take over.
Enju who upon seeing Rentaro fall had lost her will to fight, was being mercilessly beaten by Kohina. Kagetone had turned his gun towards towards her and is prepared to shoot her.
Enju screamed some more things but Rentaro couldn’t hear her.
Rentaro understood that the death god’s hand is reaching towards him. Death awaited. His eyelids felt so heavy so he started closing it.
However Enju’s voice suddenly echoed, “Don’t die, Rentaro. Nothing has started yet! You can’t leave me alone!”
Hearing that Rentaro eyes suddenly flew open. Forcing his hand to move to the rest of the 4 drugs that Sumire gave him, he injected it all into his abdomen.
With a cracking sound, everything started a new. Rentaro’s body felt inflamed as everything that Rentaro lost came back. Blood, muscles, drooping intestines, lost nerves, bones, the extinct cells.
Rentaro’s body died at an extreme rate but regenerated at an even more extreme rate.
This process caused extreme pain, enough as to cause Rentaro to scream out loud and row around in pain.
As Rentaro stood up he felt the world get distorted. He saw the death god get defeated by him.
His body felt very hot. Severe headache and nausea assaulted him.
Why Rentaro can still stand? Not even he himself understands.
But the hand is still moving, the legs are still moving, he’s still alive.
Upon seeing this display, Kagetone was shocked and muttered, “Satomi-san……. What did you.”
Rentaro used ferocious eyes to glare at Kagetone and took an offensive stance. He then took a deep breath and by releasing bullets in his legs propelled himself forward to his natural enemy.
Kohina intercepted him.
“Cut!”
“Scram!”
Rentaro released three bullets in his arms this time and the resulting clash with Kohina ended in his victory. He had with overwhelming force blown her away causing her to have a violent collision with the wall and slumped over unconscious.
Rentaro didn’t stop there. He accelerated at Kagetone again, and avoided his bullets.
Rentaro once again used a Tendo fist technique while Kagetone used Endless Scream.
The resulting class between unmovable object and resolute force caused shockwaves to resound throughout the area.
Rentaro was gradually getting pushed back, but begin releasing bullets in his arms to push back.
The first bullet pushed back.
The second bullet started overwhelming Kagetone.
The third bullet ended the clash of techniques and with a sharp supersonic uppercut, sent Kagetone flying 10 meters into the air.
However Rentaro didn’t stop there.
He jumped up and used a tendo technique while releasing every last bullet in his leg.
Kagetone seeing his own defeat disappointingly said, “I see……… I lost to you”.
Kagetone then got hit with an impact strong enough to send him skidding along the water like a pebble, smashing two boats in the process before smashing into the water with enough force to cause a water column to raise giving one the impression of a mini tsunami. He had flew more than 100 meters in the process. He then sunk into the water.
Using his artificial limbs to such an extent caused them to emit steam.
Rentaro warily stared at the sea for 20 seconds before turning to Enju and joyfully said, “Yeah, we won! YAHOO!”
However Enju didn’t share his joy.
Noticing Enju staring at something Rentaro turned his head to see Kohina clutching her knees and muttering in despair, “How can this happen. Papa, papa”.
Enju stared at Rentaro with mixed feelings and Rentaro nodded and said, “she’s no longer our enemy.”
At this point Rentaro’s phone vibrated and from it came a relieved yet confident tone.
It’s Kisara obviously and her voice caused Rentaro’s eyes to water from joy.
Rentaro told her that he fulfilled their promise and won.
But Kisara told him some very bad news.
“Listen calmly, Stage 5 Gastrea appeared. Tokyo region is already over. Everyone’s going to die. No one can be save”.

It's going to be revealed in the next part but since I'm to unmotivated busy to do it now I might as well tell you here.
It's a giant railgun capable of shooting a object near light speed. The force behind this object is very large since according to the theory of relativity the closer you are to light speed the more mass (and therefore impact) the object has.
It can be considered a super weapon that's even stronger then a nuke because with a nuke a least you usually can detect it coming and prepare in advance.
With this it's impossible to sense coming because no one can sense a object traveling close to light speed.

It's actually sorta funny that you say that.
A minor villain in volume 2 accused Rentaro of only getting the credit because he was at the right place at the right time.
But no, I would assume that Rentaro's promotion had more to do with the fact that he took down Kagetone and Kohina whose ranked 134 then using Heaven's ladder (although it played a role to).
In fact IP 1000 still doesn't accurately reflect Rentaro's strength when released.
I would peg his strength around 150ish or so. It's true that he beat Kagetone and latter Tina whose both ranked higher then 150 but in both their cases Rentaro had knowledge on how their abilities worked and prepared against them. Even then he needed luck to win.
So 150ish sounds like a fair rank for him.
And it should be noted that using Heaven's Ladder isn't easy for Rentaro.
Rentaro had to accurate shoot at something 50 km away (iirc) without any sort of help. Rentaro himself noted that the percentage of hitting is actually in the decimals.
If he landed at the wrong place the situation would've worsened instead.
That's a unbelievable amount of pressure for anyone.
The fact that Rentaro had the nerves to go through with it, is what makes using Heaven's Ladder such a accomplishment for him.

That’s good that you like Rentaro x Kisara because like I said it’s the most likely pairing. Rentaro x Enju leads somewhere behind.

Which is a shame because I like Rentaro x Seitenshi and Rentaro x Miora. One has an interesting chemistry with each other while the other is amusing.

Because they were fighting in a dark area the sudden light from the flames blinded Tina who’s especially sensitive to sudden change from darkness to light due to her owl genes.
Rentaro seeing this opportunity instantly got up ignoring his wounds and rushed through the flame to deliver his accelerated punch.
Rentaro’s punch enhanced with all the released bullets from his arm took her down.
But without this fluke he couldn’t even touch her even while understanding most of Tina’s abilities, proving how strong Tina is.

Because what lies in that direction is “Heaven’s ladder”. Tracks 2 km in height, a height that touches the clouds. Bending at a 70 degree angle it’s the world’s deadliest superweapon. A super electromagnetic device capable of launching an 800 mm missile at near light speed.
The problem is that it hasn’t even been test ran yet. While during the gastrea war it was developed as a way to hopefully turn the tides it hasn’t been developed fast enough. The war was lost and this weapon was abandoned until now.
Rentaro and Enju rush to operate it understanding that there’s no choice left for them other than to rely on this unreliable weapon.
They rush to the underground building, where the main control panel for the device is. At there a 20 digit password is asked but fortunately Kisara with Seitenshi’s help has the password.
Rentaro with the help of Kisara had this thing started and going.
Then a female AI sounded and started the operation of “heaven’s ladder”. The entire thing started to shift towards its target. After it finished, it dug into the earth with drills. This is to prevent the reaction force from shooting an object near light speed (Newton’s third law)
After that it connected to a satellite and the target appeared on screen for Rentaro to see. Standing at over 400 meters tall with a horrifying appearance, it’s the level 5 gastrea codenamed Scorpio (all the stage 5 gastreas are named after the 12 zodiacs, funnily enough there’s only 11 stage 5 gastrea leaving one to wonder what zodiac has been left out and why). 10 years ago it and its companion’s wreaked the world. Since then it and all the stage 5 gastrea has gone into inactivity.
Seeing it first hand, Rentaro can understand why humanity has been driven to the edge by this creature. Normally speaking a creature this big cannot support its own mass. Don’t even mention walking, it won’t be surprising if something this large fell down and died due to how big it is. Whales for example get crushed by their own mass on land. In water they’re weightless since buoyancy counteracts their mass.
However a stage 5 gastrea defied physics. It not only survived with that impossibly huge size, it’s capable of moving with such size.
How tough does it have to be to support that weight?
Rentaro is once again amazed by how incredible Gastrea are.
It then roared and the entire country felt it. The entire facility shook due to the vibration from the roar, even when it’s a huge distance away.
Truly an almighty monster.
Kisara interrupted Rentaro’s daze caused by awe and told him some bad news. Nothing in this facility can be launched as a weapon. Not only that but to guarantee a kill a varium weapon has to be used.
Just as Kisara is about to give Rentaro more instructions, the connection suddenly starting cutting off.
Only being able to hear bits of Kisara’s voice over the static, Rentaro started panicking.
“Satomi-san………… the world………………… I……………….. leave it to you”.
And with that Kisara’s voice is completely cut off.
Rentaro forced himself to calm down, and when the AI, asked for an object to launch Rentaro detached his right hand and inserted it into the chamber of “Heaven’s ladder”.
While it’s questionable if it would work, using his right hand which is made of super varium as a launching object is the best way.
As if confirming Rentaro’s bet, the AI confirmed that Rentaro’s hand is capable of being launched and can withstand up to 5% light speed.
After that a joy stick popped up.
Seeing that the AI no longer is giving any controls, it means that Rentaro has to manually shoot Heaven’s ladder.
It’s impossible.
From Rentaro’s area to Tokyo region there’s a 50 kilometer gap.
The chances of manually hitting it without any preparation or calculation are in the decimal range. And if he missed and accidently hit the city instead the disaster would be catastrophic.
Just then as if to urge Rentaro to hurry the Scorpio stage 5 gastrea started swinging its tail and knocking over the missiles.
It would reach shore soon.
Rentaro’s grip tightened.
He can’t let that monster reach Tokyo area. If he gave up now, what would be the point of him fighting so hard in the first place.
GO! GO! GO RENTARO SATOMI!
However the fingers won’t obey.
“No I can’t. I can’t do this. I…..”
Want to run away.
Suddenly a pair of hands covered Rentaro’s hand.
“There’s still me. Rentaro.”
It’s Enju of course.
“If the bullet missed we’re finished”.
“It’ll hit. Rentaro will make it hit”.
“Don’t talk nonsense. Besides how can anyone trust a weapon that never even had a testing phase, and slept for ten years. If it’s of by an angle and the bullet hits Tokyo instead, unprecedented catastrophe will be the result”.
“But Rentaro will make it hit.”
“Why do you always say such irresponsible things. Besides I……”
Enju suddenly put her face close to Rentaro to the point where they always hit each other. Her wide eyes stared at Rentaro.
“I never said a single irresponsible thing in my life. I always believed in this. Only Rentaro can save the world. No one else. Only Rentaro”.
After hearing this Rentaro is surprised and took a deep breath to calm himself.
“Enju……. I definitely don’t want to lose you”.
Enju’s tense body relaxed, like all her troubles went away she closed her eyes and hugged Rentaro (how many of you thought it was going to be a kiss instead? Be honest, I know I did when I first read this part, lol).
“Yeah, no problem, I love you to, Rentaro”.
They took in each other’s warmth for a while until Enju left Rentaro’s body and said:
“Rentaro, let me get one thing clear. Can I take what you said earlier as a marriage proposal”?
Rentaro rejected her instantly:
“Idi……. Idio…….. Idiot………. It goes without saying that I like you like family. However a ten year old brat shouldn’t be talking about romance much less marriage. And in legal terms-” (Rentaro tsundere mode on).
Enju cut him off and dissatisfiedly asked Rentaro:
“Then Rentaro loves Kisara?”
“Eh…… Don’t say that out loud”.
Enju made a “V” sign in front of Rentaro.
“Two years more……. Within two years I’ll make you love me deeper then Kisara”. (the kicker here is that she’s going to be dead within 2 years).

“By then I’ll be 18 and you’ll be 12. I’ll look like even more of a criminal”.
“Enju can’t wait any longer than that”.
“Ok, ok. I’ll look forward to it”.

It then roared and the entire country felt it. The entire facility shook due to the vibration from the roar, even when it’s a huge distance away.
Truly an almighty monster.
Kisara interrupted Rentaro’s daze caused by awe and told him some bad news. Nothing in this facility can be launched as a weapon. Not only that but to guarantee a kill a varium weapon has to be used.
Just as Kisara is about to give Rentaro more instructions, the connection suddenly starting cutting off.
Only being able to hear bits of Kisara’s voice over the static, Rentaro started panicking.
“Satomi-san………… the world………………… I……………….. leave it to you”.
And with that Kisara’s voice is completely cut off.
Rentaro forced himself to calm down, and when the AI, asked for an object to launch Rentaro detached his right hand and inserted it into the chamber of “Heaven’s ladder”.
While it’s questionable if it would work, using his right hand which is made of super varium as a launching object is the best way.
As if confirming Rentaro’s bet, the AI confirmed that Rentaro’s hand is capable of being launched and can withstand up to 5% light speed.
After that a joy stick popped up.
Seeing that the AI no longer is giving any controls, it means that Rentaro has to manually shoot Heaven’s ladder.
It’s impossible.
From Rentaro’s area to Tokyo region there’s a 50 kilometer gap.
The chances of manually hitting it without any preparation or calculation are in the decimal range. And if he missed and accidently hit the city instead the disaster would be catastrophic.
Just then as if to urge Rentaro to hurry the Scorpio stage 5 gastrea started swinging its tail and knocking over the missiles.
It would reach shore soon.
Rentaro’s grip tightened.
He can’t let that monster reach Tokyo area. If he gave up now, what would be the point of him fighting so hard in the first place.
GO! GO! GO RENTARO SATOMI!
However the fingers won’t obey.
“No I can’t. I can’t do this. I…..”
Want to run away.
Suddenly a pair of hands covered Rentaro’s hand.
“There’s still me. Rentaro.”
It’s Enju of course.
“If the bullet missed we’re finished”.
“It’ll hit. Rentaro will make it hit”.
“Don’t talk nonsense. Besides how can anyone trust a weapon that never even had a testing phase, and slept for ten years. If it’s of by an angle and the bullet hits Tokyo instead, unprecedented catastrophe will be the result”.
“But Rentaro will make it hit.”
“Why do you always say such irresponsible things. Besides I……”
Enju suddenly put her face close to Rentaro to the point where they always hit each other. Her wide eyes stared at Rentaro.
“I never said a single irresponsible thing in my life. I always believed in this. Only Rentaro can save the world. No one else. Only Rentaro”.
After hearing this Rentaro is surprised and took a deep breath to calm himself.
“Enju……. I definitely don’t want to lose you”.
Enju’s tense body relaxed, like all her troubles went away she closed her eyes and hugged Rentaro (how many of you thought it was going to be a kiss instead? Be honest, I know I did when I first read this part, lol).
“Yeah, no problem, I love you to, Rentaro”.
They took in each other’s warmth for a while until Enju left Rentaro’s body and said:
“Rentaro, let me get one thing clear. Can I take what you said earlier as a marriage proposal”?
Rentaro rejected her instantly:
“Idi……. Idio…….. Idiot………. It goes without saying that I like you like family. However a ten year old brat shouldn’t be talking about romance much less marriage. And in legal terms-” (Rentaro tsundere mode on).
Enju cut him off and dissatisfiedly asked Rentaro:
“Then Rentaro loves Kisara?”
“Eh…… Don’t say that out loud”.
Enju made a “V” sign in front of Rentaro.
“Two years more……. Within two years I’ll make you love me deeper then Kisara”. (the kicker here is that she’s going to be dead within 2 years).
Rentaro wryly smiled while scratching his head.
“By then I’ll be 18 and you’ll be 12. I’ll look like even more of a criminal”.
“Enju can’t wait any longer than that”.
“Ok, ok. I’ll look forward to it”.
Enju let out a small victories smile and asked him:
“You’re no longer afraid”.
Rentaro looked at his hand and noticed it stopped shaking.
“Yeah. Thanks to you I’ll be able to pull down the curtain”.
Rentaro raised his head and glanced at the controller.
Looking at the Scorpion he even felt a shred of mercy for it.
Sorry for calling you here out of the blue, but humans can’t die.
“Heaven’s ladder” has been prepared for a while now and is now shaking with energy.
Rentaro put his hand on the controller and Enju put her hand on top of his.
It’s strange, Rentaro felt very comfortable. He won’t miss no matter what.
“Enju”
“Yeah”
And they slowly pressed the trigger.
The body felt light like it can float, and sense of time is lost.
Very quickly, the light appeared enveloping everything in it's blessings.
